- Well... Noctyx debuted! I probably should've figured this would've happened shortly after the last video but, hey, what can you do? Apparently make 20 more minutes of content, that's what! Enjoy this break down of all the Noctyx debut lore...
If I didn't talk enough about your oshi, I'm sorry! I promise it wasn't personal! I do love every member and the lengths I talk about each one is purely based on how much they added to the lore during their intro.

Their characters also make sense if you were to go back to Petra's lore and try to make connections with Noctyx and the "facility" she's in. My personal take is:
sonny: security guard
uki: another kid of the facility who does magic tricks and came from a rough background.
alban: also a kid of the facility who steals from her often (maybe steals a snack or two from her in the cafeteria).
fulgur: an amputee with a prosthetic arm who was maybe a war vet and now is an author
yugo: a local dj she saw on tv who has trouble with their android phone (explaining their hate for androids) or maybe just another researcher who exposed her to different types of music.

One thing that I want to add from my view it seems this "facility" could be a kind of hospital it could explain how so many different people with these backgrounds can be in one place for a reason trying to help them or understand them it could also explain some time jumps as petra is sheltered, maybe she goes out only a few times so it can feel like long or short spans of time and hospitals would have and or be testing replacements for injuries explaining why the new gen is more futuristic maybe the newest patients except for yugo he could just be a dj actors do visit hospital or some places hire entertainment for people there. petra being the first patient could be why the stories are getting more detailed the more petra is getting older so maybe actually thinking about it more of why or what happend and the reason for some parts not getting explained is the people not wanting to share their life story so petra wouldn't know what to think

There’s a couple details I wanted to add on in relation to Fulgur and Yugo, if you don’t mind-
For Fulgur, he said in his Debut 2.0 stream that his actual occupation is an archivist (like he catalogues books), not actually a Legatus - I think there is a line like ‘and THAT’S an RPG’ in his lore video that alludes to this. But I think there is an implication that Legatus is an occupation, so feel free to ignore this.
For Yugo… this is more just to expand on a theory about Ike lol. Alongside his line about Ike being different, taking into account how Ike is not only a writer - creativity needed to create the backstories of the characters - and how he was abruptly dropped into a city after taking a nap unlike how Shu, Mysta and Luca were very clearly teleported via portals, this could mean that there is both an ‘our world’ Ike and a ‘virtual world’ Ike, the latter being based off the former and given his memories, hence the abrupt cut off unlike the others. It also may be why Ike specifically was given the sensei role to Yugo - if ‘our world’ Ike was a part of the ‘Heaven’ that made the NijiEN Vtubers (at least Luxiem) and later widely renowned VR technology, he’d likely be pretty famous and many people would look up to him like you would a sensei.
Hope that wasn’t too much of a word dump lol. Seriously though, thank you for tying this confusing mess together for all us Nijisanji fans!
This could also tie to Petra's lore, if you think about it. The laboratory that took Petra in could very well also be "Heaven" (since if they decided to make Petra a vtuber, it would mean they have experience in this field). If that was the case, just how "virtual" Ike was created based on "our world" Ike, perhaps there also exist "our world" Selen and Rosemi, who are working at as researchers at "Heaven", but also based on who were created the virtual ones.
And also that means that a certain % of NijiEN Vtubers could also be workers at "Heaven", if not all. If it was true, i wonder if there's a way to differentiate ones who are based on actual human beings from "our world", and those created solely by code.
If you take subtle lore drop from Millie's SCP stream entry of Ike as canon, he is implied to be a reality warper himself therefore probably one of the admin that runs the whatever virtual system that EN universe took places
So I've seen a few other comments talking about Ike and his role in the story and I'm kinda surprised that no one has proposed the idea that Ike was the writer for all of the Luxiem boys' lore, but died from overwork before they could debut. I know this is on the video primarily for Noctyx's lore, but Yugo and Ike's connection kind of plays into it.
Similar to how Nina was the human handler of the three Ethyria girls, Ike could have been the one trying to craft the worlds of the Luxiem boys. Him being the only one to actually have seemed to spent so much time with them compared to the others fits there, and also if he was the writer for all of them, it makes sense why two characters have overlapping backstories to save time, and maybe Shu's was an afterthought of a shitpost because they decided to make it 4 members and not 3 some time towards the end. Him being a great novelist could mean he was the writer of the first group of designed AIs. But before they could debut, he died from overwork and his conciousness was quickly shuffled into Virtual Neverland. Also, his name, Ike Eveland, his last name is very close to (N)eve(r)land.
Leading into Yugo's backstory with Ike, this could imply that Ike is a sort of mythical figure of the company, if he died before work on Luxiem was completed for debut. A figure with the same sort of name recognition as say, Hideo Kojima or Yoko Taro, a writer whose work was so well renowned that his name and image lived on in memory. Whether the company of Heaven made digital versions of him as say a virtual buddy given both his name recognition and being part of Luxiem (assuming the residents of Virtual Neverland don't die), Yugo may have been inspired by an Ike AI. Alternately, he never actually knew any Ike related thing and projected the image of what he thought the person Ike Eveland based on his name recognition as somewhat of an inspiration to be his own creative, like, using a smuggled, shoddily put together eye implant, he let the spirit of a great creative flow through him to inspire him.
Now, with the Petra theory, Ike may be the person cataloguing all of the stories Petra has created or maybe even writing backstories for other people in the facility to help socialise Petra better. Maybe Yugo is a DJ who looked up to or knew Ike before coming to the facility and was immediately shocked by how in character Ike was at all times?
wait that would actually make so much more sense, seeing as shu's lore video is so different to the rest of luxiem :0 in terms of art i mean (stock photos and things instead of hand-drawn designs (is that the best way to describe it)
A few things I would like to add! Luxiem and Noctyx are very clearly connected in lore, as Luxiem is 'the light from the past', and Noctyx is 'the darkness/night from the future'. Each pair are counterparts of each other and seem to be connected in some way. (oh my god this was way longer than I thought it would be ahhh-- sorry about that!!)
- Alban: in his qna stream, he was asked about a tweet he made pre-debut where he mentioned someone by the name of 'Rias', which happens to be Mysta's last name. He says that this 'Rias' was his best friend that died, and that his full name was Victor Rias, (who preferred to be called 'Rias') meaning he is probably a descendant of Mysta. Also, he mentions that the thief Mysta was chasing in his lore looked familiar to him (possibly an ancestor?). Also, I find it interesting how Mysta tends to call Alban by his last name, 'Knox', ~
- Fulgur: As others have mentioned, Legatus is not Fulgur himself, and is just a character he plays. But what is interesting is that he seems to still have a connection to Vox in some way. He has stated that they have a history of some kind, and with them being brothers (same artist), it's really interesting.
- Sonny: Not much to say about him, but the fact that the evil organization was named 'Black Out' caught me off-guard immediately. Black Out is another one of NijiEN's debut songs. Not sure what that implies, but, it's an interesting point ~ Another thing is that it's possible the group may be what Luca's mafia becomes in the future, since the boys are all connected in some way.
- Uki: I really don't have much to say about him, but something that I found interesting is that the portal that send him to the past could have something to do with Shu's magic.
- Yugo: Alright. This is gonna be a long one. Ike is my oshi, so when Yugo's lore started, I died. Ike has the most vague lore of all the boys and he vehemently dodges any and all questions about it, feigning ignorance and making incredibly sus comments about things like time travel and his stories. The fact that he's more of a musician than a writer does not help. So, when asked about Yugo, he really said he knew nothing. Based on his previous comments, tho, he definitely seems to be hiding something. Some theories say that he is a god or eldritch being of some kind and is the reason the boys time traveled in the first place. He's teased a few projects he's been working on, one which seems to be possibly lore related?? I really hope we learn more and this is cleared up,, me and the Quilldren die every time he says anything sus about his past or time....
Honestly, this is very interesting because your narrative sort of ties in to NijiJP Mayuzumi Kai's monologue "a message to the people of reality"

so watching both Fanfics in a row the Timeline looks sorta like this:
-the Research Facility contracts HeavEN so they could help Petra with her Reinsertion into society training by creating Lazulight & Obsydia/Virtual Wonderland based on Petra's wild imagination (hence why they're based on people Petra might already be familiar with)
-HeavEN seeing the success of Petra's Fics creates the Ethyria AI project but it fails, & then Nina salvages the project
-HeavEN succeeds at creating AI's with Luxiem & takes of their VR World busines
-the VR success leads to a VR society in which Sony is a member of the VSF
-VR finally evolves into full AR-implants while Alban & Uki live in poverty
-AI evolves into Androids, & Yugo is now part of the war between Man & Machine
-Man & Machine eventually Merge & Fulgur the Archivist decides to go back in time to see what in the ever loving *** went on back then
...yeah VTuber lore is wild & i love it

The "Heaven created the metaverse" is a really funny one, same with "TONAL SHIFT, Knox is homeless".
I don’t see many people talking about Noctyx constantly referencing to Luxiem in their lore. Such as when “Stuck in the Abyss” one of the lyrics references to a light or hope in the darkness of the abyss, as well as in Uki’s lore video song there was another brief reference to Hope In the Dark. This may mean that Luxiem and Noctyx stories are intertwined heavily, The person being beaten up in Luca’s lore video and the “phantom thief” appearing in Mysta’s lore may be Alban as the person being beaten up disappears without a trace in Luca’s and had a brief case Mysta was looking for. The idea of the pocket virtual realms may not be far fetched as it seems as there are seemingly many of them and are intertwining with each other and merging into one big Virtual Netherland a virtual world slowly growing in size.
Why would Alban be in the past when he was sent to the present?
The scene where Mysta was chasing Luca is when they were still in 1969

i mean, yeah you could explain away sonny's and fulgur's time traveling to be science mumbo jumbo, but uki, alban, and yugo seem to be entirely magic based which i imagine would definitely throw a spanner in the works

The concept of time travel in every stories just confuses you if you think or dive deeper in it.

I did the same thing as you several years back when I did MLP Character Analysis. And I have a theory I'd like you to weigh in on.
It doesn't make sense that Noctyx would time travel the same as Luxium, because Luxium are already virtual. If the virtual world already exists created by "Heaven" wouldn't it be more likely that "Heaven" would attempt to remove those people who are a threat to their reign (a la Ready Player One) by forcing them into the virtual world? Think about it, Sonny busted the police chief and got caught in the "time warp" that was made for the chief. Uki is a powerful esper not bound by the laws of technology, and the best way to defeat an esper is to make them believe something else. Alban has world renown as a phantom thief, and what kind of diamond could just cause a time shift? Fulgur is an archivist and Legatus, meaning he contains lots of memory, perhaps some of even "Heaven" itself, and the best way to keep that under wraps is to fool him into believing that his events haven't happened yet. Yugo was beginning a revolution with their music, and already had a connection to "Heaven" through his Ike personal assistant.
With the exception of Sonny, all the others have something that's a threat to Heaven's monopoly. By using their VR tech to fool them into thinking they're in the same digital world as the characters that "Heaven" created in Luxium, they effectively neutralize that threat, while simultaneously getting five new virtual talents.
Also, revisiting the Petra theory in line with all of this. I'm beginning to suspect that Petra is actually an android with an experimental AI. There are some distinct parallels to Star Trek TNG's episode "The Offspring", in which Data created his daughter Lal, and attempted to integrate her into society. This integration failed, because of Petra's conceptual programming was bugged, and not only saw them as caricatures of their actual selves, but created additional AI's to match these perceptions. This led to the program being scrapped, but then used Petra's AI to create the virtual world where these new characters can live.
honestly I didn't think too much abt nijien lore till your videos were in my recommended and sheeesh I'm mindblown at how you theorised and put all these together. for sure I'd pay attention way more for later Nijien lores to see how it links with everyone else.
While the other nijisanjien members dont tell me more about their backstory other than for short moments fulgure has a whole storyline about his legatus persona wich he still continous to write about XD

Not sure if it means anything but Yugo does not seem to have the eye discoloration when he's small, which brings up the question if he had the implant at that point.

Okay, please hear me out. I've been seriously thinking about this for a while and I refuse to be deterred on my quest to make sense of this.
(Ignoring Petra's lore for a bit- hers will come in later)
I started my "understanding the Lore" with Luxiem, but when I stumbled upon your vids, I just HAD to incorporate the others' in some shape or form, because it's making sense, in a crazy way. So I'll be putting some of your ideas into my thoughts here.
Other theorists hypothesize that Ike created Luxiem as a story for Petra of some sort and all of NijiEN is just her imagination, but that feels like such a cop out and I want a chance to go full force into connecting these stories, so putting that aside: I believe Shu is some sort of agent to this "God" you hypothesize and this fact may be pretty important for the overall lore of Nijiverse attempting to correct/prevent a cataclysmic event that occurred due to the events of a trauma riddled child.
Isn't it strange how Shu(Putting Vox and Uki aside for a bit) is the only being of magic in Luxiem and Noctyx? And then Noctyx has no true magic users or otherworldly beings at all? Shu was also bullied as a child and once someone shot shit at him, he was recognized. But here's where the connection comes in. Look back at Luca/Mysta's lore vid. Their portals of time are purple. So is Alban's and so is Uki's. Who's the only person that could pull that off-- quite literally summoning beings beyond time and space, and with that same color scheme? Shu Yamino. And over time, Shu develops a desire or at least begins looking into the technological advancements of humanity at the time/Vtubing AI that "God" uses and helps him recruit new members. (Here is where I merge Tech Shupport being canon in the lore).
Shu is the one summoning the others to this present day. Or at the very least, this Singularity that Shu creates, because for all we know, Shu may have died, but his Merging of magecraft and technology lived long into the future. Vox may have just eventually wandered there due to the increasing influence(it would follow the events after his storytime Lore video) Something I've noticed with many lore stories is being transported/ and some sort of trauma. The ones from the future go back into a past, perhaps to fix a mistake that was made?
I had a loose theory regarding the lyrics of Hope in the Dark and stuck in the Abyss that connects with this line of thought. "This city's chaotic at night" by Shu. I'm assuming that all these integral events( the waves being transported/brought together) happen at night. And that "Hope in the Dark" is a song full of desire and grasping your desires for better admist the darkness. The lines "But do it right, you're gonna gain or pain, Ideal and Ambition, White Darkness, "Hope in the Dark". Stay real, dance in the dark. Spend your life, don't believe the hype." Made me think of Noctyx. Alban, the thief dances in the dark as a white darkness for the helpless children, but succumbs to a fate where he lost his friend. And then Yugo is a resistance fighter who believes in the hype, but didn't get a chance to truly spend his life after the Androids took his livelihood and passion.
Stuck in the Abyss's initial lyrics from Alban and Sonny allude to, I think a response of the advice taken from Hope in the Dark. A person "Hidden from light so you can't see." and lives the life they want. Running a Kingdom, and searching for something they can't see. Yugo's line is interesting "The story will all unfold. The silence will speak on its own." Yugo now lacking his music to rebel and being thrown into the past, leaves him and his followers silenced-- just like Alban's past of children going forgotten and thrown aside, no one will listen to their cries- silenced from their desires; and Uki. Yet the first lyrics makes me think this isn't the end. Clearly someone takes up this mantle. Uki's rap within the song makes me think the person(s) in question became accustomed to the darkness, and utilized it for an evil purpose? (Pomu's World Domination comes to mind) "And now I feel invincible and take over the world". Ethyria, in a way, rebelled against "God" and the light and darkness that is Lazulight and Obsydia are the light and dark planes referred to in Stuck in the Abyss and Hope in the Dark.
This is where I throw Petra's lore. The "extended amount of time in isolation" brings me back into that trait of abuse that Uki, Shu, and Alban share. She was alone BEFORE she was brought it. It's safe to make some sort of assumption that ostracized and left alone for so long that she forgot herself. Or at perhaps there was an intervention by "God" leading to her being a special being taken pity upon and rescued by these researchers; Petra's lore never specifies what time period she's in. So I'm assuming the "Rosemi" and "Selen" are ancestors of our Selen and Rosemi.
Or this connection is simply "God's" doing. Throwing Petra to her time with Obsydia, then removing her(forcing her to be alone once more) only to throw her back into the facility. This last bit makes no sense, but, so I'm standing by the initial one (And it just feels so undermining and un-fun to take the 'it was all her imagination' route. When we know damn well that Petra is way too intelligent to create a being as....less endowed in taste buds...as Mysta- even as a subconscious)
But yeah, that's my theories. I'd be amazed as all hell if anyone bothered to read this. But I find this extremely fun. Now excuse me as I finish my lore fanfic for Vox.

Both of ur nijien lore videos r amazing. I really like the way youre piecing the lore together, i havent seen these type of videos diving deep into vtubers lores before so watching them was very entertaining for me.

one little thing i wanna pitch in? i'm not sure if it's relevant but at the 5:35 mark of the video, the shadow on the right strangely resembles pomu (hairband and has on some occasions specifically told by the nijien members that they have extra limbs though not in this universe such as millie's nijien as scps stream). connecting with virtual neverland and the potential pomu can hop dimensions and her goal of "world domination", i wonder what impact it will have on these theories and lores? could it be possible that pomu was the mastermind of the android regime?
sonny's lore video also has many references to the rest of nijien such as the mysta foxgirl poster in the corner (proof of the virtual streamer setting?) and how the evil organization's name is Black Out with obsydia having many references of being in virtual neverland so what if they wanted to break out of it ? im not sure if this is much just throwing it out there
edit: more abt black out, in the mv they do have quite possessive looks + are made to be the “evil contrast” of lazulight, which is probs more evidence to Black Out being connected to obsydia?

I think the chronological order of their timelines would be:
Uki (least amount of tech)
Alban (pre-Sonny time)
Fulgur (humans and robots have fused so might not be taken over yet)
THEN Yugo (androids have taken over last bit of humanity alive)
Not sure about Fulgur and Yugo (could be the other way around) cuz I think I remember hearing you say "In Fulgur's time humanity is brought to extinction" or something but I'm too lazy to search it back.

One must wonder if this are just Steve and our's imagination connecting the dots resulting in a very interesting extended universe, or the people over at Nijisanji just have writers that good that they can lay out a trail interconnecting backstories that itself becomes their own extended universe! Either way i am enjoying this and leaving a big ol' like xD

I just want to say too that if I ever get into nijisanji I am even more glad that these are here because I already have had an oc for years I've always wanted to play and she is who I would want if I got in. Timey wimey stuff is something i think is hard to write in a way that makes sense mainly because of how complex it is and all the way's it's been portrayed as working before.
that being said i have my own spin on "the future timeline" and at it's simplest it's uncertain. like quantum theory and schrodingers cat, none of it is set in stone so instead of seeing one time line, i see 5 potential futures that could come to pass based on the choices made in the present day.
to help make a lil sense out of it:
a future where humanity continues with technological advancement - sonny
a future where humanity halts technological advancement and enter a kind of dark age (it has that kinda cult and mystic vibe) - uki
a future where humanity advances with technology but then wants to go back and even worse wars break out - fulgur
a future where techonology goes too far and androids become the dominant "species" or "force" on earth. - yugo.
i don't really have one for alban, since his would mostly relate to fulgurs but without war and instead technology was the cause of the the divide between rich and poor. either way i hope other people can see roughly how yugo's and fulgur's timeline's kinda mirror each other. one where there is intervention and one where there isn't.
Either way, this video makes for an amazing narrative and also does a great job of bringing it all together and not splitting it up like my take on time has. i hope anyone reading enjoyed my perspective on it though. have a nice day.

While he claimed himself to be just an ordinary novelist we never know exactly what he writes and most evidence so far pointed him as some kind of an omnipresent "author" of the entire EN universe
@@ekosubandie2094 i really like that theory honestly. Ike's appearance in Yugo's lore really make me wonder who Ike is. How could a 'just' novelist traveling from the past to the present, and then to the future?? And though, there's no confirmation that Ike in the future is the same as Ike we know, we know for sure that Ike hides a lot of his information. The fact that he denies to be called sensei so much on his stream, the fact he didn't tell us his age and what is he (human, demon, etc) on his debut; and then his information on Millie' SCP stream make me think he definitely not a human.
My opinion he might be the omnipotent being that creates everyone, or atleast someone that has power to jumping through timelines as he likes. I have a feeling the book that he carries under his coat is the resource of his power (or media to use his power).
Nothing confirmed yet, but everything about him are sus. I hope we can get more lore crumbs in the future because I'm really invested with his lore :'D
Oh yea, fun facts little detail that lots of people might not aware but kinda interesting to dig out.

I hope Steve paying more attention for Ike's lore after reading our comments (I read a few of them mentioning about Ike too). Because his lore might stir up the whole NijisanjiEN lore to different direction.

In petra's case, if everything is virtual, would it not make sense that the humans she interacts with are reused models and not actually connected to selen and rosemi?
I mean, the theory thus far has been that the humans she interacts with actually are humans, because every time we see them; we're in the real world. Petra is a half-human being taken care of by a research facility and has thus far only been able to perceive reality through her surroundings around the people within the research facility. With this, she starts creating and imagining an expansive world, so you'd think that the two human researchers would end up being inspiration for two characters she's around; Selen and Rosemi.
I don't think by this point (as in the first NijiEN lore video from LazuLight to Luxiem + this one) that there was any talk of Petra's imagination theory's world is seen as virtual since basically none within this video talks about how noctyx specifically integrates with her story, because the theory about Petra is only there to add a layer to explain what's happening; but that doesn't mean that any revelations about the world she supposedly is creating (in her imagination) is actually affecting her world; the real human world. I don't think the point was ever "everything is virtual", even when you take Petra's theory in. If one were to go with that "everything is virtual" point though, then I hope they'd make sure not to also include Petra's world in it, because imo unless you're arguing for a completely different theory (where Petra only imagines the story up to Obsydia, but the rest is reality), even if Noctyx's world is 'our world', it doesn't take into account that there's an even realer 'our world' within the confines of Petra's actual environment, and everything else is just in her mind.
Tl;dr this video's conclusions don't necessarily have to affect the Petra theory, because Petra's theory is only assuming that there's a completely different layer of reality (e.g a 'real world'. The real world that Petra is in has real humans, the world she imagines has virtual humans and individuals). Anything within this video can be consolidated within the same confines of that of virtual neverland itself, etc... Petra's research facility is a layer above all of those, if you wanna believe in that theory.
