I passed my technician exam just a few minutes ago. I started studying last night, and part of this morning. This video was as far as I got before I had to take my test. This really helped me pass! Thank you so much for making this playlist!
Passed my technician exam today. Your advice in between the lines, such as responsibility falling to the control operator/ham radio community and overall Keep-it-simple method were very helpful in understanding the material. Thanks a bunch and I hope to meet you on the air soon!!
I tried to take my first study test, while having only watched halfway through 7. I was pleased that on my first attempt got 68%. I am starting to see my areas of weakness, some questions have not been covered yet. Thank you Josh.
I have just decided to finally get into amateur radio. The website you talk about is where I went and decided to take a practice test with out and studying at all...... And well, out of the 4 test I took I got between a 65% and 70%. While not passing, it showed me that the test is really not that hard and with even just light studying or continuing to take the practice test and reviewing the questions I missed to find the right answer....... One could easily practice and go take the test all in a few days. Now I'll deff learn even more after I get my license as that's just who I am......I like to know everything about what ever I get into. But over the years, even tho I was interested in amateur radio......I thought it would be really hard and expensive. But now knowing a can get a decent starter radio kit for around $50 or less and the test cost about $15 in my area and then the licence I think is $35 or something...... So under $100 and one can start there jurney
I rember as a little boy my father had a big metal desk in his office at home with a huge transmitter & receiver Cap radio. He used it to check in to the state net. I am sure it was military surplus.
Here is a thought. Lucille Ball stated that she was picking up radio through her fillings. Just sounded like nonsense, but could she have somehow picked up something if a filling was loose, as with a coax connector? Just a thought.
Only question I have would be if a capacitor is discharged would it not be an steady full scale reading, now a charged capacitor would have a increased resistance over time.
The craziest rf interference I ever experienced was a cigarette lighter usb charger caused my car to fail to read the tire pressure stems. Plug it in and my car thought it had a flat.
Obtaining a license "just to use a radio" is much more than you think You could meet with many different people in other places You could communicate and cooperate during emergencies You could tinker around with equipment n electronics You could contact the ISS You could participate in contests which you could be rewarded a prize So getting a license is more than just using a radio
Have you noticed the ham bands are biginning to sound a lot like the 10 meter/CB band in the last few years since they have allowed the children to make up the question pool and test them selves. I have more respect for the ham bands than that.

I just passed my technician exam yesterday. Thanks for making these videos, they’ve been a huge help.
Congratulations

Thank you and your VEs Josh. Got my technician license 2 days ago!
Congrats!!
I just passed my technician exam. These videos have been a huge help 😊
Fantastic! Congrats! Time to get on the air!
video at 16:00 is not the right question with what you are talking about. T7 B11

Either that or old school tube based radios.
I think he had a big inverted "V" antenna made with bare wire in a tree in the back yard.

Thanks a ton. You're a good teacher. Also you sound like David Cross if i close my eyes.
Do you have a series for General?
wrong card at C01 time 16:00
T7 is also poorly worded. An oscillator can be of the variable frequency type too. It doesn't need to be at a specific frequency.
Very helpful thank you
Question A3 is poorly worded. Certain types of inverters also change an input signal frequency to a different output frequency.
Only question I have would be if a capacitor is discharged would it not be an steady full scale reading, now a charged capacitor would have a increased resistance over time.
What is question D05 and the answer? 23:30
I was doing a good job reading my book until I got to digital, that’s not fair
The craziest rf interference I ever experienced was a cigarette lighter usb charger caused my car to fail to read the tire pressure stems. Plug it in and my car thought it had a flat.
I just passed my technician test about an hour ago. im looking for the same videos for general now. But im not seeing it.
thanks brother
You’re welcome!
Are these questions identical to the questions on the actual technician test?
Yes.
looked in the description-I’m not sure if there’s a link to the playlist you mentioned in the beginning?
It's the first link... "Here is the playlist"
Water can enter coax by damage from rodents (squirrels). Trust me, I know
@6:30 dude is talking about crappy radios snit the Veterans of the world know is a state run propaganda radio/TV! Still love you show man lol!
what?
No comprende
All this information just to use a radio 😑
Oh my gosh 💀 ikr
Obtaining a license "just to use a radio" is much more than you think
You could meet with many different people in other places
You could communicate and cooperate during emergencies
You could tinker around with equipment n electronics
You could contact the ISS
You could participate in contests which you could be rewarded a prize
So getting a license is more than just using a radio
You could even get your license provoked without the knowledge of communicating with stations and contacting failures
Have you noticed the ham bands are biginning to sound a lot like the 10 meter/CB band in the last few years since they have allowed the children to make up the question pool and test them selves. I have more respect for the ham bands than that.
No not really. Also, I understand the agism. Most of the bad actors I see on the bands are older entitled dudes.
So what you're saying is that there has been more life injected into the hobby?
