  • CASE 9120 9 Series 9240 and 2388 Combines cut some steep terrain near Prescott Washington, USA. Land on hills is farmed differently with hillside combines that level side to side like a lowrider car on hydraulics. 40 foot MacDon drapers and Hillco leveling systems on all the newer combines.

    A while ago I found a picture on the internet taken in your area of a 1470 combine, which is considered to be one of the best hillside combines ever made, equipped with tire chains to give it more traction to keep from sliding down the hills.

      Yeah, theres a farm next to ours that runs a lot of 1470s and have a back stock of broken ones. I have heard of chain controlled leveling systems as well, I haven't looked too close at one. My family never ran them, but they're a common sight still in the skyrockets.

      That would be cool! That could always be arranged of course. I have a few people who have emailed me expressing interest in riding. All of which are farmers from other regions. struthersfarming@gmail.com

    Never too much hillside footage.. More commentary, lots of viewers may be seeing your stuff for the first time..

      Yeah I am digging in the vaults for old footage I didn't use this summer. I should add some after the fact narration to explain what is going on and why what we are doing is unique and whatnot. Thank you!

    It's nicer from this side of the screen. I have gone sideways on flat muddy land. Dont think I would like the feeling of going sideways on top of a hill. Have a great day Trevor.

      I personally like this side of it and can't wait for harvest again. As long as I get some time to run my drone, there should be some pretty cool shots to be had.

    How big are your fields if you don't mind me asking

    • @TrevorStruthers
      @TrevorStruthers  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      150-300 for most of them. A few are around 1000. This was one of the larger fields on this day.
