Scrap Metal Recycling - Processing the Stash Into Cash!

  • It's a big scrapping day! After avoiding working on scrap metal in the garage on account of the winter temperatures, things have certainly piled up! Its getting a bit warmer though, so the time has come to strip it all down and cash it all out. How much can we make recycling such a haul of scrap metal? Let's find out!
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2SwrYsB
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)

The main reason I like these type of videos is everybody scraps different and sometimes you learn something new. And it's always good too learn something new everyday. Sure there's a chance you don't learn a thing but it doesn't hurt to watch and maybe you can help someone do something alittle easier.

I'm pretty sure that those pump things you dismantled were some sort of hydraulic fluid injectors. If the item seems to be relatively intact and in decent working order, it is now possible to take a picture of it and a google app will identify it and list its relative dollar value as an intact working device.
I started watching your channel, to figure out the optimum way to dispose of some major hi-tech machinery that I got saddled with. Among many other things crammed into my basement, I have two 4'x4'x8' silicone chip manufacturing machines, two 4ft tall 5ft long, industrial lasers (working w/manuals), 3 industrial MEGA microwave generators Weighing nearly 100 lbs each (also working w/manuals and precision computerized control units themselves the size if a microwave oven), and a never opened industrial grade hydrogen generator (I'm probably going to KEEP that one, though). I love taking stuff apart, but I'm in way over my head with these and don't even know where to start
I've always been a science geek with a touch of mad scientist/inventor. I appreciate the practicality with which you approach scrapping, but I practically cried watching you dismantling the stirring hot plates. it was somewhat comforting to hear that you had set the nicer ones aside. If it doesn't take much to refurbish the nicest working pieces, they will certainly fetch a better price than scrap value.
Where does one obtain such pallets and bins of science-y MacGuiver goodies?

The reason most screws were flat head is because a flat blade was a lot easier to forge. Back in the old days you could just hammer a piece of metal flat to use as a screw driver, or just use a coin. I’m totally talking out my butt right now, I believe flat head screws should be illegal! So annoying

Tbh for the weight of that wire since I'm kinda close to wear they actually drive the wire to and ship it aka on boats if you looked into it you would be surprised because for a Rubbermaid lawn garbage like the big plastic ones I go over there and get almost $900 for my wire literally but if I try to scrap it in town they give me $150-$275 so just a quick tip like for me the boats that ship them to other places and pay the most is in Tacoma but for you I wouldn't know just letting you know because for wire I have been seeing you get wrecked on wire tbh and I'm an electrician and my boss told me that. Because when he got back and me and him could only split $200 because I went in town. lesson learned but if you have a recycling places with ships that's where you want to go

The separation of goods where you are helping them help you is the hard part.
You don't want to create difficulty with the people at the yard, and the individual can't provide them a commercial volume without the room to store it and time to categorize it, while waiting for a target price.
    Keep doing the thing.

The Box you threw in a trash can with the receptacle plugs on a face you didn't open it up and take the brass out

Nice Thub... I was watching while scrapping my own stuff! I'm planning a big load to Melbourne next week if the weather cooperates (ie. not too hot!). I'd better film it I suppose! 😁

Heck of a hoard you have there in that garage. Those rims alone will be a great payday! We can only turn in 2 batteries at a time. Way to spend some winter time. Spring will be here in no time. Happy Scrapping.

The tire air intakes are brass, either in shred pile or dirty brass.

Long videos are definitely content and at least for me, they are at the top of the ranks.
