You wanted to be teacher because you only saw teachers in your life. Many kids who have no exposure to other professionals think the same, until they get older and see other opportunities. Many kids also want to be doctor because they saw their own doctors looking great as professionals.

Brother, it's a good encouragement. However you assumed too much by saying that most of teenagers don't have future plans just focus on having fun. Maybe you didn't know most of the teenagers in your life. Even in elementary or middle school, many kids already have plans for their future, but the plans do change. Glad you didn't give up and be persistent on your dreams. In America anything is possible. College is for everyone, some degrees are harder than others. For teachers, there are many kinds some are harder than others.

Congratulations! Very proud of you. But after you got your degree, what happen to your grandma? Your mom? Your step siblings? Were they proud of you?

I'm so proud of you brother for your inspiration story ❤️. Thank you for sharing your story and inspiring others no matter what your circumstances are. I was considering having disabled due to hearing loss as child. People looked and talked down on me saying that I will never get married let alone become someone important. Now, I am a RN working for the biggest health plan in my state.

Brother, your mother is selfish. Her desperation and need for her man is more important than you, her son. His children are more important than you, her flesh and blood. Those step siblings are bullies, and they themselves have no goals or dreams, much less aspirations to be anything better than like their father.
Do not let others determine your future. You can aspire to anything if you work for it. You have to want it and work for it.

You have a great counselor and grandma. Best move. Moving back with your grandma. Your mother hasn't been much of a mother to you on the occasions. She's too busy being a stepmother and wife to her new husband and his children. She cares more for her stepchildren than you her biological child.
Glad you made your dreams and success.
