Agreed! MAKE LIFE SKILLING GREAT AGAIN!! Though I have always thought of grinding making way more money and not caring. I enjoy life skilling because I enjoy life skilling. Not because it makes x-amount of silver per hour. I enjoy the fact that I need to think when playing the game, instead of mindless grinding every player with half a brain could do.
Mob grinding will ALWAYS make more silver lol it's just lifeskilling can still be fun even if they lie to me about how much money I can make. Once they can start making lifeskilling fun once more I think more people won't mind the long grind
I am extreme here. I want BDO to come out with an account type that only allows Lifeskilling. No combat. The account should have lower taxes for Marketplace sale. Agris benefit should provide be x3/x4 the material, Mastery is not capped for these "pure lifeskilling" account. Farming limit goes beyond 10 farms. Instead of level, this account gain Reputation affecting sale prices of fishes/trade goods/taxes. lol
Masteries should unlock Bonus things/skills like the one in Hunting Guru. There should also be a exclusive guild buffs and activities for LS guild, like a exclusive LS Guild shop/store where they can build a store where they can sell their potions on one of the major city in the game, they can also probably tie it with the various merchant guild in the game.
the game used to be that you could go grind or you could go lifeskill and you might not get the same rewards but there was some form of trade off to doing one or the other. Now you dont really have that trade off because they give out so many of the materials one or the other had primary access to that you can completely ignore lifeskilling as its the slower method. They need to adjust the rewards overall since a lot of the simplification made a lot of modes redundant.
I really hope things turn around for BDO. No other MMO gives me the feeling of existing in a Fantasy world as much as BDO does/did. It used to feel very "choose your own playstyle", but now it feels like the devs want you to mob grind, and that is it. I love BDO's combat, I love mastering a class. But there is basically no fulfilling content to even use it on (in terms of PvE). Grinding mobs either alone, or in a discord with your friends is super stale too. No solid group content on the PvE side. On top of that, I wish life skilling was an actual viable option to progress and make good silver. But why would I do life skilling when I can make solid silver straight out of the seasonal server (and even in it), with practically zero silver investment? I also could be remembering wrong, but when I first got into BDO (around 2018). I remember looking up "best ways to make silver", and seeing life skilling as an equally lucrative way to make silver next to grinding, or at the very least it seemed close to grinding? I could be remembering incorrectly though. Either way, I got burned out on grinding, and I've switched over to FFXIV recently.
You were not remembering wrong. Before 2018 Lifeskills used to be under Grinding and then the scales shifted when Mastery was brought in, the fish were nerfed, alchemy and cooking got nerfed, Trading was good then they killed it, brought it back, and well ya know the rest there.. where's the adventure now? Like Blue said, for us the Adventure never begins..
I’m just lifeskilling for personal use now, just no real reason to do it for anything else so I completely agree with everything here. I like that you showed a clip of EVE I’ve been considering getting back into it myself haha
I wish it was fun again but with all the changes to simplify it all for the newer players has killed the market to limit lifeskilling as self torture or because you don't wanna buy it off them cm (if you're new) I'd have to get my sub back for eve to really enjoy it. I'm past the f2p enjoyment and NEED to pay lol

If you mean by Fishing when I said "when it comes to harpoons Fishing Mastery is pointless after 1.2k" there's nothing after +3 making 1300 onwards a waste and can get the +3 for harpooning without even wearing Fishing clothes. This applies to console too

@helldelta7673 lost ark is more of a game where you come late and the catchup to endgame is very very severe and the money needed to compete is worse than bdo. I used to play it but the bots killed it for me.. I'm looking into playing throne and liberty on the side of this but I've notnfound one that matches bdos lifeskilling

I have moved to only making crates, min maxing my empire and workers, and processing. Other than that im mob grinding the few active hrs a week that i have. Honestly i would love to quit BDO but until something with deep afk lifeskilling comes out thats better im just kinda stuck.
the reason i prefer liveskill over grinding is that i can stop whenever I want without feeling " remorse" kinda, when I grind I feel I really need to do 1 hour straight for some reason.
While your points are good, I'm not sure if this kind of videos are good. At least you were not as negative as some others but still. So many people posting videos lately saying that BDO is dead or will die while saying that they want the game to do better because they would like to continue to play it if things are going to be done the way that meets their preference. But the thing is that overall many influential people in BDO are posting videos where they just spread too much negativity about the game. While I do agree that people should raise the awareness and make their voices heard to PA, they should also consider how their actions are affecting the game now. I saw already some newer players commenting under such "BDO is dying" videos about their worry - if they should quit because the game is dying. Most people don't want to invest their time and money into a dead mmorpg but if all the videos they see lately are about BDO dying then they will just leave believing there is no hope anymore. The thing is that they may not return later once the damage is done and we (who love or loved BDO in its peak) are just losing potential long term players who could make the world more alive for us if our voices are going to be heard and the game is going to do better again. I'm very sure that there are better ways to express concerns and better thumbnail and title options (as I said, you gladly did much better than most others lately). Also videos on youtube can severely affect how many new players will come to the game but forums mostlikely not because people do watch videos before they decide to play a game but most don't go to read the game forums to make a decision. So I hope all the streamers/youtubers are as active on forums and writing e-mails and such or in other words doing more behind the scene to save the game. Long story but I'm just really concerned because of all the negative videos lately. For now the game is not dead and personally I'm enjoying the game a lot (mainly a lifeskiller) 17k hours in. I do understand that there are things PA is not doing well, but I really don't want the game to actually die because of youtubers/streamers who are too negative and exaggerating a bit in my opinion
Current problems with lifeskills imo are twofold: 1. With less people playing, most lifeskills feel this as you sell your products to the market. When there are a lot of people playing, I sell my stuff way more and faster. Lifeskills need something that guarantees silver just like grinding does when selling trash loot to the vendor. Expand the Imperial system where it scales further with your mastery and allow us to do this for more lifeskills simultanously so you don't have to choose. 2. There's nothing to strife for in lifeskilling. 2k mastery is where the loot caps out, nowadays that's easy to hit. After guru50 there are no more benefits. Make for example spots that require 2.5k or 3k mastery to even start gathering there. This will drop materials to increase your daily Imperial delivery. Make end products use materials from these high end spots that drop rarely so you need a lot of people to supply it. I'm still having fun lifeskilling but do very selective things that still make a lot of silver. I combine this with grinding different endgame spots to keep things fresh. Also I play in bursts and when I don't feel like playing I just stop playing for a couple weeks. If you're not having fun it's time to stop playing :)
They should make trading use all the various armor/weapon/furniture workshop alongside the other lifeskill like cooking etc a bit like bartering but on land using only lifeskilled stuff.
what i find very inconvenient even after all this time is the energy pots are still a hassle to get with so many alt characters. is it impossible for the black spirit to exchange ur energy??? come on PA im just dumping 650 energy from alts into random nodes at least that way it goes to something...
Yeah if they're removing the need to travel the world and have an adventure yeah, simplify the energy would be a no brainer. We could even get the ability to convert the energy from the alts into pots like the node investment
Time = Value 🤷🏻🤷🏻 If you AFK a lot, don't expect to have more value out of the items you produce, because other people can do it too. That's how economy works. Active fishing and harpooning are more like a mimic thing, these activities were not meant to be played actively. BDO mainly revolves around grinding mobs and doing "trendy" stuff, that's why you have to constantly adjust to market changes.
I'm getting 'tired' of BDO as it is myself right now, least in terms of lifeskilling. Can't say I'll quit the game any time soon, but it will get to the point the market will dictate that for me. Grinding's been a nice side activity, but I can only do so much of that before I reach my limit. Gonna be interesting to see what PA do from here going forward, but they do understandably seem focused on Crimson Desert a lot atm.
Yeah then after crimson they gonna turn to dokeV and I fear bdo will be on maintenance mode waiting for the plug to be pulled... I've been mob grinding and just doing random things in the background while I wait for anything to be said or done for lifeskilling. Hopefully it doesn't get to the point where I get on the life boat and save myself from the sinking ship
The lack of lifeskilling goals that reward me in a significant way are the reason why I will leave the game until something happens. If nothing happens, the devs and the game can go to hell.
Let me complain here: Loml hunting give me severe eye pain, can't grind for more than 1 hour because the sheer amount of screen blinking from dark to bright over and over again. Despite it give me 2 bill per hour, i just can't do it anymore...
Man oh man were to start. I like many have watched the blue- united nation video. Sad days ahead for bdo. I will be part of the core that remains and so will 2 others in the house and we are all wales. I don’t think we alone can fund bdo and keep it going. If too many wales leave it’s possible that console dies and pc gets sold off to steam to live out its days. We will go over to throne. We will still do lifeskills in bdo as we are ages, 43, 50 and 66 we just can’t combo as fast as we used to so pvp is out for us. Each one of us loves different and a couple same lifeskills in bdo, enough to stay busy. Man I love bartering, farming, gathering, hunting. I love jade forest grind. Here on console we don’t even have everything pc has not even sniper but still love hunting. Gearing up past what I have is a stupid concept as nothing needs it till maybe 5 years from now. If Daoc can survive with 1,500 people and so can eso with limited people, so can bdo. If throne takes the majority and only half come back it’s still enough to survive. I will be so thankful when all the whiners leave and the pvp dicks leave . Maybe the ones that return will be grateful for what they have. By all reports- the pvp sucks compared to bdo. I don’t know about lifeskills but it’s doesn’t sound promising. Throne just looks like parts of other games that failed or are really old content games. Rift, eso, Daoc, neverwinter, d3 so at what point will it fizzle out and people return to bdo. I appreciate what bdo has. I appreciate the game as a whole. Till something comes out that is better and I think it will make it 10+ years I won’t completely leave bdo.
Yeah I don't really care for PVE or PVP in this game. Its okay and yeah the combat is unmatched by any game but in terms of lifeskills they leave WAY more to be desired for after playing games where your gathering and crafting matters more like Albion, Ultima Online, Eve, Runescape, Lotro, hell even WoW feels more rewarding than current BDO lifeskills. Remember, the game isn't dead just in a very odd spot. Try to enjoy it for what it is but never ignore the glaring issues. I plan to make a video on how to enjoy the game in a bad state to not be a complete doomer

I would say that lifeskilling needs higher mastery brackets with higher buffs, increase materials needed for crafting in all aspects, add some good rng items or at least a few *treasure* items to grind for, id say that the simplification of materials making it easier is nice but we need that long term goal that *treasure* item that gives us the fomo to grind for it not anything game breaking but something that is still really helpful like a inf energy pot that recovers like 75 energy every 10mins and let the other energy pots be used with it, or and treasure items that reduce the weight of processing/cooking/alchemy items
Yeah Mastery is pretty outdated now and could use some love, actual treasures that aren't removed to Mob Grinding again, and some better energy management when Mob Grinding and PVP can be done at any time while we have to gather AFTER we recover energy either f2p or using p2w methods
@@TeddyTwighlite yeah and a lot of people would definitely love being able to lifeskill for rare items minus the pain that is the mp pot we don't talk bout that 😭, it's still a Great game we just have the issue that currently players are at a brick wall of no good progression, we need content as much as we need buffs and I don't think pa knows how to start with that right now when they're getting pve/pvp problems shoved down their throat in mass with every change

ohh teddy, i been feeling down about bdo since heidel ball (was a huge joke) after seeing today patch notes and realize they just did not add a single event!?!?! helllooo??? i shut down the update and installed lol .... i wont be spending my time for a game where the devs do not care about their playerbase and dont give a shit about improving the game . so i am done for now:)
It's really sad because bdo has been unmatched with just the lifeskilling and over the years it's become worse than even the wow clones.. I missed when the game felt like a world and not just a mob buffet eith sfk activities to make sure the metrics shows your playerbase is more active than it seems. Maybe one day they'll show lifeskilling some love but for the moment with no content and it's been the same content for 8yrs (minus sniper hunting) and now no event lol I'm not entirely sure that anything will happen for another couple years
It really bugs me that the Llama/Hedgehog don't scale with mastery, they even forgot about our PTW option when it comes to lifeskills. I do fairly enjoy the state of lifeskills atm, even if its not super rewarding the loop is fun. But man they could just tweak some numbers and spend even 10 seconds thinking about lifeskills and it could be so so much better.
It's all about small tweaks though. Like idk increase the amount of lower end materials needed for higher end recipes or increase the rares, etc. Nothing extreme just a few Suttle changes can make a HUGE difference in the game
hunting looks fun surprisingly but i really enjoyed sailing and bartering idky it was just kinda interesting but this game a whole is in a crap spot tbh
In my opinion bdo has to rebalance most current items. Most of them are not relevant atm and you kinda doing the same thing. And i think it is not just for life skill items and gear, its for pve grinding too. They should give items a reason to exist. If a item is just better than 99% of its kind, why bother with them. They could be just removed and nobody would care.
If you're looking for Gathering and Crafting yeah its in a really bad state but I mean it IS fun early to mid game.. I would mention endgame but that's just a meme with PEN Manos, Alchemy Stones, the amount of real money needed to compete, and still just not even a fraction of PVE in the same amount of time allotted or more in some cases..
@@TeddyTwighlite for me I reached 700gs plus Im 2k mastery in cooking hunting and gathering. I guess I got bored of the lack of content. Also I worked really hard and failed a lot for my PEN BS just so they give one for free. I also used to love to play the market with cooking but that also went down the drain. meh they did some damage to their own game.
@Legatoblack so very very true. I raw tapped a duo debo ring earlier just because we can now and I have 2k Mastery for a lot of my skills without PEN manos. I'm running our of things to do and it's not even rewarding to do.. it feels more like a checklist to say I beat the game

Yeah it's been way too long since we've anything new for lifeskilling resulting in the rewards just being meh and it makes you wanna mob grind instead

i want more ways to catch fish stuff that can work in combination with bartering and trading and crafting but is also still fishing

Let me complain here: Loml hunting give me severe eye pain, can't grind for more than 1 hour because the sheer amount of screen blinking from dark to bright over and over again. Despite it give me 2 bill per hour, i just can't do it anymore...

I will be part of the core that remains and so will 2 others in the house and we are all wales. I don’t think we alone can fund bdo and keep it going. If too many wales leave it’s possible that console dies and pc gets sold off to steam to live out its days.
We will go over to throne. We will still do lifeskills in bdo as we are ages, 43, 50 and 66 we just can’t combo as fast as we used to so pvp is out for us.
Each one of us loves different and a couple same lifeskills in bdo, enough to stay busy. Man I love bartering, farming, gathering, hunting. I love jade forest grind. Here on console we don’t even have everything pc has not even sniper but still love hunting.
Gearing up past what I have is a stupid concept as nothing needs it till maybe 5 years from now.
If Daoc can survive with 1,500 people and so can eso with limited people, so can bdo. If throne takes the majority and only half come back it’s still enough to survive.
I will be so thankful when all the whiners leave and the pvp dicks leave . Maybe the ones that return will be grateful for what they have.
By all reports- the pvp sucks compared to bdo. I don’t know about lifeskills but it’s doesn’t sound promising.
Throne just looks like parts of other games that failed or are really old content games. Rift, eso, Daoc, neverwinter, d3 so at what point will it fizzle out and people return to bdo.
I appreciate what bdo has. I appreciate the game as a whole. Till something comes out that is better and I think it will make it 10+ years I won’t completely leave bdo.
Yeah I don't really care for PVE or PVP in this game. Its okay and yeah the combat is unmatched by any game but in terms of lifeskills they leave WAY more to be desired for after playing games where your gathering and crafting matters more like Albion, Ultima Online, Eve, Runescape, Lotro, hell even WoW feels more rewarding than current BDO lifeskills.
Remember, the game isn't dead just in a very odd spot. Try to enjoy it for what it is but never ignore the glaring issues. I plan to make a video on how to enjoy the game in a bad state to not be a complete doomer

I would say that lifeskilling needs higher mastery brackets with higher buffs, increase materials needed for crafting in all aspects, add some good rng items or at least a few *treasure* items to grind for, id say that the simplification of materials making it easier is nice but we need that long term goal that *treasure* item that gives us the fomo to grind for it not anything game breaking but something that is still really helpful like a inf energy pot that recovers like 75 energy every 10mins and let the other energy pots be used with it, or and treasure items that reduce the weight of processing/cooking/alchemy items
Yeah Mastery is pretty outdated now and could use some love, actual treasures that aren't removed to Mob Grinding again, and some better energy management when Mob Grinding and PVP can be done at any time while we have to gather AFTER we recover energy either f2p or using p2w methods
@@TeddyTwighlite yeah and a lot of people would definitely love being able to lifeskill for rare items minus the pain that is the mp pot we don't talk bout that 😭, it's still a Great game we just have the issue that currently players are at a brick wall of no good progression, we need content as much as we need buffs and I don't think pa knows how to start with that right now when they're getting pve/pvp problems shoved down their throat in mass with every change
@parcheddevil7468 pve and pvp will always get the most eyes on it with most of the players only doing that while lifeskillers are a smaller part so we don't get heard ever
with guru and a few buffs i can hit 2k mastery with tri manos acc and tet gear. i see no reason to push higher.

ohh teddy, i been feeling down about bdo since heidel ball (was a huge joke) after seeing today patch notes and realize they just did not add a single event!?!?! helllooo??? i shut down the update and installed lol .... i wont be spending my time for a game where the devs do not care about their playerbase and dont give a shit about improving the game . so i am done for now:)
It's really sad because bdo has been unmatched with just the lifeskilling and over the years it's become worse than even the wow clones.. I missed when the game felt like a world and not just a mob buffet eith sfk activities to make sure the metrics shows your playerbase is more active than it seems.
Maybe one day they'll show lifeskilling some love but for the moment with no content and it's been the same content for 8yrs (minus sniper hunting) and now no event lol I'm not entirely sure that anything will happen for another couple years

It really bugs me that the Llama/Hedgehog don't scale with mastery, they even forgot about our PTW option when it comes to lifeskills.
I do fairly enjoy the state of lifeskills atm, even if its not super rewarding the loop is fun. But man they could just tweak some numbers and spend even 10 seconds thinking about lifeskills and it could be so so much better.
It's all about small tweaks though. Like idk increase the amount of lower end materials needed for higher end recipes or increase the rares, etc. Nothing extreme just a few Suttle changes can make a HUGE difference in the game
hunting looks fun surprisingly but i really enjoyed sailing and bartering idky it was just kinda interesting but this game a whole is in a crap spot tbh
They have sooo many opportunities to improve on what's here and make the game fun but it's always ignored.
In my opinion bdo has to rebalance most current items. Most of them are not relevant atm and you kinda doing the same thing. And i think it is not just for life skill items and gear, its for pve grinding too. They should give items a reason to exist. If a item is just better than 99% of its kind, why bother with them. They could be just removed and nobody would care.
Best thing you can do is stop playing this game or don't get started.
If you're looking for Gathering and Crafting yeah its in a really bad state but I mean it IS fun early to mid game.. I would mention endgame but that's just a meme with PEN Manos, Alchemy Stones, the amount of real money needed to compete, and still just not even a fraction of PVE in the same amount of time allotted or more in some cases..
@@TeddyTwighlite for me I reached 700gs plus Im 2k mastery in cooking hunting and gathering. I guess I got bored of the lack of content. Also I worked really hard and failed a lot for my PEN BS just so they give one for free. I also used to love to play the market with cooking but that also went down the drain. meh they did some damage to their own game.
@Legatoblack so very very true. I raw tapped a duo debo ring earlier just because we can now and I have 2k Mastery for a lot of my skills without PEN manos.
I'm running our of things to do and it's not even rewarding to do.. it feels more like a checklist to say I beat the game
