I had lots of surgery as a kid and I can definitely say trying to reduce their wait time is so nice of you bc it is such a stressful time. You seem great!
You are such an inspiration for medstudents! Especially as Muslim medstudent ramzan is such a challenging time for me.. but seeing you go up and about is super inspiring! Love love watching your vlogs!
ER doctor here ! I just finish my 2 weeks in Anesthesia was really cool and learned a lot of cool techniques to use in my practice. Great video and set up !!
What a great vlog!!! Love it! I’m a previous ICU nurse and now PhD, APRN-NP. This is my medical jam plus I love the Ramadan content. Thank you so much for sharing with us!!! You’re a great educator. ❤️
Thank you for doing this very educational vlog. My husband is a CRNA its really fun to see the OR and some anesthesia equipment. Also I have learned a lot about Ramadan through your Instagram stories. Many blessings!
You seem to have a great routine and I admire your control with fasting for your religion. I was raised Christian and there are times when my mom will fast while praying. I have health issues and kind of fast anyway due to gastroparesis. And, just something random….I love your turquoise chair / stool while you’re showing your cup of tea. It’s gorgeous. I have something similar. Thanks for sharing!
I am sorry I had a major typo.. I have CP so when I was a child I had a lot of surgeries , so I used to hate not chemically smell I loved it when did Steve to Ivy for induction These videos are fairy good to see so people know what to expect
Med training is ridiculously hard as it is, you diligently practicing your religion parallel to that is beyond admirable. Subscribed! EDIT: doing pediatric anesthesia so independently while being a surgery resident is another next level for me coming from a different training system. EDIT EDIT: Just saw you are also a doctor of dental medicine. I am in awe. How??? :D
I loved this Vlog. Last Radhan was my first Ramdan to have without my family as I traveled and seeing this Vlog made me feel at home with my own Family. You are so close to the heart Rola I feel like I have Known you for long even though I just discovered your great channel. ❤❤
I'm a coffee person but i can't drink coffee during suhur because my stomach can't take it. During ramadan i'm not drinking coffee and change it to tea😂 a little bit shock you drink a cup of coffee when suhur. By the way Happy Eid Mubarak from Indonesia, may the blessing of Allah keep your mind and soul peaceful and joyful.
This video was so interesting, I've always been curious about fasting for Ramadan and also anesthesia. How do you not get thirsty throughout the day? The fasting includes water, right? I get so thirsty, I don't think I could do it. Thank you for making this video!
I've not known about Ramadon. That was interesting. Sounds like u help the kids alot. I think your in a very stressful job but u seem so calm. Was it scary the 1st time u put a baby under?
woah! i don't know you were a muslim. that's cool because you're a medic, holding a family, married life and medical life and of course, religion. you're a genius
I’m a lil curious about your prayer mats, why are the 2 facing different directions? Aren’t they both supposed to be facing the same direction (qibla?) just asking as I’m aware different cultures have different practices too but I thought this was universal
It a bit weird but could you give a slight info on kind of contact lenses do you wear, can you wear them while sleeping, and also how long can u wear them..
It looks like she had a Mac size 1 or 2 laryngoscopes blade and McGill forceps to advance the nasotracheal tube. She may have misspoke calling it a McGill blade.
How can you maintain your blood sugar throughout the day without eating? What happens if things go badly - couldn't the patient site that you were fasting, thus opening you up to malpractice?
I’ve had two surgeries one when I was about 9 and one recently in October as a 18yr old at the children’s hospital Los Angeles and it was probably the best experience anyone can have considering the circumstances no one really likes surgery but all the nurses and the anesthesiologists were so nice and good at explaining everything to me But I was kinda bummed they didn’t tell me to count backwards I was fully awake for about two minutes or so just laying on the table with the oxygen mask on waiting to go to sleep lol it was kinda funny and awkward they were all moving around doing stuff and I was just waiting for sleep to take over like okay well 😂😂
Do you work with anesthesia technicians? I was an anesthesia technician for 2 years and loved working with my CRNAs and anesthesiologists! I love actually seeing how you set up the equipment I'm used to. It makes me wonder why I didn't ask to shadow my coworkers while I worked in the OR :)
Tho one is horizontal and the other vertical, they are still praying in the same direction, toward Mecca. They just lay them like that so that multiple people can use them together. If you place it horizontally, you can fit more people. | or = . .. The man leading the prayer, maybe her father, would stand on the one place vertically, while she and another woman would use the horizontal one to pray together. In prayer, people must stand close to each other, hence they are using one prayer rug.
I have cerebral palsy so I had to do a lot of Sergey Brin I was a kid are used to heat a Kempis now I love that wanna change the IVs no more than it smells
having my first surgery i broke all of my metatarsals in my foot if I'm saying correctly. should i be scared of being put to sleep? I'm just scared of not waking up. have you had any issues with putting any patients to sleep?
Samee!!! I wake up so hungry in the morning that I wait till AFTER breakfast to brush my teeth because I feel I'll starve to death otherwise. I remember hearing about Muslim college football players who train in the sweltering heat even playing entire games while fasting which is crazy. They cant even drink water which is extra shocking because Ive also met some people from other faiths who fast but it's only for part of the day and they can drink water. I know the jewish fast with no water for yom kappur but it's only for one day which i feel I can power through with lots of naps & very minimal functioning haha but how do you do that for an entire month lol
I think it definitely depends on the person. I can get up at 5, eat a bagel and then not really want lunch 5-6 hours later when I have to take my lunch brake. I’ll make myself eat a snacky lunch just to have something in me for the rest of my shift, but even then I don’t really go home and want food. I honestly think I could probably get away with skipping lunch if I wanted to and for the most part be fine.
Thank you dr. Rola I really like your videos, I have question can I get into 6 year Omfs Program? ، I am dental students rightnow, I am foreign students From KSA شكرا دكتوره رولا انا جداا مستمتع بفيديوهاتك وارائك ومن السعوديه وحاب اكمل نفس هذا البرنامج وشكرا
Hi, it's because there's already carpet below, so actually the mat is just for formalities, to mark the praying space more sacred/special. Most muslim would like to put their head on that special mat when they do the bowing in the middle of praying. So the second mat is for two people who stand side by side, then when they bow, they'll put their head on that mat. The direction is the same as the first mat, so the second one needed to be placed like that. I hope you understand what I'm talking about here 😅
hi Dr. Rabah :) how often do you work with medical vs dental anesthesiologists? I'm looking into specializing in dental anesthesia and wanted to know what kind of cases they work on!
I dont want to sound mad, anyway from a logical point of view: Doing surgery while beeing sleep-deprived is not a good way to operate right? You will function and operate way better if you just slept 8 hours instead of 2 hours for instance. This is an issue, which significantly worsens the safety and the course of the operation.. Would like to hear your feedback on that. Stay healthy!
@@Fifteenblades i'm a big big big fan of yours ..thanks for your relpy ..just keep shining ..loads of love to you and your family..and happy ramdan 💓🙂..i'll keep watching your vedios ..love your videos ☺

Can an oral and maxillofacial surgeon be a covid doctor or trauma doctor?
No, they have different residency pathways. They maybe able to but they would need to do another residency.
Allah accept your fast!
the only reason to get a surgical resident to do anesthesia is to weed out those who will yield to the light side?
Why are you doing anesthesia? Is it part of your rotation?
I couldn't hear you so I turned on captions. I'm pretty sure it got something wrong since it said "giving them s=x".
good work
