I used to work in a bank from 1981 to 1994 and we used to stamp the notes with our date stamp if we were muting them to send bank to the Reserve Bank for destruction.

Where the opportunity was, when the old systems notes came in as mutes through Chief Cashier’s Department, one could swap out the old currency notes and replace with decimal notes, before the mutes going to RBA.

When the $ note was introduced we used to have cangaroo races with the metal strip and the roos on the reverse side , the lines position varies , probably only on the early notes.

Hi, I have 10 x $1 in sequential numbers, signed by Johnston and Stone, uncirculated in perfect condition, Starting DHL 600912 . Got these new when I worked as teller at Bank 1979/1980. Would they be worth much more than $100 ( 10 x $10) due to them being sequential numbers ?
