For those interested, you need to apply from top to bottom. Very important advice that's not mentioned anywhere is to apply while the stand is open to make it go through it till the end part, you need to center it perfectly until you hear a click .Once all done properly, it will no move and Dock without any issue. If it's fitting correctly but not docking that's mean it needs adjustment.
Make sure you hold onto that day one Switch just in case you ever want to mess around with homebrew in the future. Those will be hard to find in good condition in the future.
The kick stand would need to open and close though. Im suprised they included that feature as most cases just bock it off. It seems like a good case tbh
I have this same exact case and you have to click the bottom portion of the case for it to be in place. Once it does it’s sturdy and doesn’t pop off easily.
this seems to happen to the og switch as well since it’s a little elevated and it pushes the switch slightly forward making it lose connection ive had a similar case it works in dock but I notice a little bit of movement towards the front is enough to disrupt it
Literally just received this and tried putting it on lmao wish I’d seen this earlier. The smaller cases for the joy cons and screen protector itself aren’t too bad but the case for the actual center part is terrible as you mentioned 😔
I just got the Splatoon3 OLED yesterday and definitely want to protect the backplate and joycons. It is hands-down the most detailed and coolest looking switch to date. Thanks for telling me this case isn't a good choice. I'll keep looking at reviews and hope to find one that's the right fit. If all else, I could add some very thin foam padding to the inside back of my dock. I put the ZAGG tempered glass screen protector on my OLED and it looks so nice. A bit pricey at $35, but so worth it for the protection.

I got that case, works great for my Switch 1.1. You have to place it from top to bottom for it to fit correctly. You started from the bottom up and it shows that it didn’t work for you. I recommend that case very much.. I have 0% marks on my Switch. The only time I take it off is when I play dock mode since it won’t fit with it on.

So I wanted a case that would cover the whole back including the stand, because I'll never use that either. It's strictly a portable system for me. Now I'm just waiting for it to come in the mail.
The extremely thin film thats on the oled screen can peel off if you replace a screen protector, Nintendo says not to remove it because it helps against scratches and keeps the glass from shattering to pieces and going everywhere.
Not sure it's the case with tempered glass, as it's quite easy to remove. I hadn't even noticed any film on the OLED screen. There was one on my pre-mariko switch, but it was advertised on the box (it was optional)
The left joycon protector I received is defective. The plastic was cut crooked and holds down the L button and the front panel doesn’t fit into it at all. Hopefully the replacement they send is better.

I also bought it before viewing this video. I have no complain about the way it's articulated around the stand, and as I use the OLED as a portable device, hadn't tested with the dock yet. BUT I really don't like the way it hinders access to the joycon buttons. It's possible to just use the protection on the back of the joycon, and remove the faceplates, I'll probably test that way.

The old dock scratched screens because there was trace amounts of dirt on the dock that caused abrasions over time. OLED Switch isn't for me. No increased performance or resolution, just richer colors. The Vita released with an OLED in 2011...ten years ago. C'mon Nintendo.
I bought it together with my nintendo oled, I used it for a couple of days until he decided to buy me other covers, but when removing the case from each joycon it was hell, since when putting the protectors on they entered very tightly and when trying to remove them they scratched my "l and r" buttons, so I had to buy their replacements, I do not recommend these types of acrylic covers because they damage the console, instead look for silicone protectors
I just bought a dockable silicone case for the oled that should be coming in 7-12 days Hopefully it works well I'ma make or attempt to make the oled my main portable switch. I got it in white to match the joycons and dock It also comes in black
I bought the Nyko brand one for my Switch OLED. It has the hard case and TPU joy con covers. The joy con covers are fine I’ve been using them and I like them. But the case for the console is crap. It keeps snapping off at the top.

Lol I bought this exact one, I don’t like the flap. Also the hinge for the plastic flap is annoying when playing handheld. I found one that has no flap, but it’s not very secure on the switch. And I got another one that blocks the stand, but is a tpu soft cover so it feels nice, and designed to stay on better than that hard plastic one
You are 100% correct they make s*** for the 3DS and other consoles as well and I bought their stuff for the 3DS then for the Vita and for a few other things to protect my consoles cuz I like my stuff to stay pristine and it was just s*** do not Buy anything like that at all
I bought this same item off of mercari and I had the same issue I left the plastic on the joycons but definitely took that bullshit off of the switch console itself because it wouldn't connect to my TV
I just got this and can confirm it sucks. Very flimsy and mine came in with scratches up the ass as if it was used before. Doesn’t fit in the dock too well, you have to play with it, at first I thought I had damaged my dock somehow cuz I forced it down a little and it wasn’t charging. But yeah guys avoid this, just a cheap plastic case. Should’ve watched this video before purchasing but definitely returning it and getting that mumba case instead.
Still have one on a psp too, with a rotating screen protector that you can lift up. This one for the Switch is not as robust, and access to buttons is not as good, sadly
I'm agree these are not a good option, pushing A and B at the same time is difficult when playing super smash bros. If put it in the dock sooner or later is gonna affect the dock, so better to take it off. I don't know why I chose this instead of the silicon one lol Now I know that I was not the only one lol
I got one of those for the original switch from I think 5 Below.. it was actually worse it said dock safe but it wouldn't fit the dock it actually snapped on tight just a little to tight and when I removed it thought it might break .. my nephew is a handheld only kid so I gave it to him and at age 7 he was like this is crap 😂

Bought it to have in when my oled arrived. Put it on last night removed after 3 minutes. Cheap flimsy warped doesn't stay on and likely to scratch the switch from all the movement. Need to attempt to get my money back. Do not buy!
Anyone else have an OLED, where the joy-cons have a slight up and down movement when playing docked? I thought they were suppose to be a firm and tight fit. PS, those plastic joy-con covers scratches the joy-cons.
You arent the only one bro , my left joycon slightly moves my right one is perfectly tight , apparently mostly everyone has the same problem some have both that wiggle , very few don't have that problem I guess it's normal, my ocd kicked in when I noticed
Those casing will scratch your console once dust and dirt caught in them. Speaking from experience here. Using Silicon casing is even worse at scratching.
I think I have the same case it was 9.99 lol but it's just to cover my skins for the back peace u have to ouch and click it on where there a tiny button like theses I was like why is this lose falling if cause I didn't have it on right it's okay not my favorite clear case but I'll by another one later one

I doubt I'd ever put a screen protector on my OLED model, since it already has one on it and can come off rather easily if adhesive is left on it for too long,

I got one and is great to avoid damage for the joycons...the console body might be optional...but for the white joycons I say is a must.
As someone who very rarely uses the kickstand, I’m okay with this. But thank you for this video. It helps with how picky I am about joycon cases

Glass is harder than plastic so the dock won't scratch a glass OLED screen. It will however scratch the plastic film nintendo installed on them.
I got one of these for the psp and it worked quite well.

It doesn't trap heat in since the heat gets exhausted from the top, and the case only protects the sections without interrupting airflow.
