    This professor is AMAZING! I've watched 6 hours of his Preclaculus Videos in the couple of weeks and it went as smooth as watching a great movie! Even though I didn't understand many things and I was falling asleep after 20 minutes (could only handle about 30 minutes a day because I am not very well-versed in math), it was not overwhelming at all. The learning experience was very peaceful and pleasant!
    Professor Sean Fitzpatrick is explaining things in a very detailed way, with no arrogance that some other professors show when making lectures!
    I wish I could give 10,000 likes to you sir!
    P.S. Does APEX Calculus include Calculus 1, 2, 3 ,4?

    Easy to understand. Great course. I sometimes wonder if great math students in high schools and colleges, but especially high school and lower grades, are just more patient and mature students with open minds. All this stuff used to confuse me, and I would turn off....like a lot. I got through it all, and have a few degrees now, but in retrospect, even in much higher mathematics, all the basics always seem to apply and be the foundation for what we call 'gifted' . Thanks for posting.

Yes, I wouldn've understood much BUT, psychologically speaking, I would've acquainted my brain with the sound of different mathematical terms and this would've removed the fear of encountering them in the ''real'' educational environment.
      We're afraid of math ONLY because we have a natural anti-unknown fearful response, which can be eliminated by constant exposure.
      It's basically like with rabbits or kittens. If you they a person coming their way, they run away. However, if you simply sit down and let them approach you, they get acquainted with you over time and lose their fear completely.

    1:28:38 QUESTION: The square root sign strictly means the positive square root
    and also for real solutions everything inside the square root sign must be positive.
    So, should you not have |(|x^3| X |y^2|)^(1/2)|? So far, I'm, loving this course. Thank you!
    PS I see that further on you did make a sort of correction to that but, as far as I can see, the same applies to (x^3)^(1/2). Does it not?
    I'll admit to being confused: e.g. say x = -2 and y = 2; x^3 = -8 and y^2 = 4; -8 X 4 = -32 but -32^(1/2) is not a real number, it is 4i(root 2).

    I already knew most of the material covered in this course, however I also learned a lot. For example. I knew the terminology for domain and range, but I did not understand co-domain. I new a function had two sets, call them A and B. A is the domain, and I thought of set B as the Range. It is not, Set B is the co-domain. The Range is the subset of B which are the members of B that are actually assigned as outputs for given inputs. I didn't realize that set B can have some members of B might never get returned as they don't match as an output for any member in the domain. Is this an esoteric fact, or are there situations where this distinction is important?

    Edit 1: 9:20 Pedmas? They are teaching me Pemdas...
    Oh wait he said it doesn't really matter which comes first.
    26:32 I was just checking the pinned comments and i see a few lesson about fractions. It's the freaking fractions that make math so difficult for me, I can't wait to get to that part of the video

    13:55 you say “negative times a negative equals a positive” than you say “ 2x3=6”
    How did you get 2x3?? The equation says 3-2x(-3)
    So wouldn’t I go 3-2=1 and then 1x-3=-3??

    • @adambromley6972
      @adambromley6972 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All I can find it that 2x(-3) = 6
      So does that mean I literally times the 2 against the -3 just because it’s written in that order? Because naturally I want to go 3-2=1 x -3. But I’m guessing you just forget about the 3-2 and just look at the fact that the 2 is right beside the multiplication step (which is the next step in pedmas) so I just go 2x-3 and worry about the subtraction/multiplication afterwards.
      If this is the case, why still do we then get 3+6?
      The 2 is gone because we multiplied it so we are left with a 3?
      So wouldn’t we go 3-6?
      Why are adding the 3 and the 6

    • @adambromley6972
      @adambromley6972 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    2. You must point out that the number a under the nth root must be positive when n is even. at 1:17:58.
    I think we need more rigor.
