Jang and the like are great for new set reviews, but they rarely look at the sets I’m really interested in. I’m glad that there’s still an audience for vintage Lego! 😎👍
Jang was good years ago but nowdays he makes only movie themed (Harry Potter, Star Wars, Batman etc.) lego reviews and a lot of Ninjago and MOC videos. No classic love from him sadly.
@@zoltanperei4789 It's not even that his content is bad, he fails to make videos on time when people can watch other creators who review the newest sets earlier. He uses the same format and linear editing for almost each review, so difficulty does not come into his time management. To be honest I actually preferred 'The Brick Show' (Former Channel) as they covered older sets that are much more desirable. He reviews these 7+ building sets with the same tone as a food critic. If you go back and watch Jang's oldest videos he has a completely different tone as he knew his audience would be children. The way he covers these new sets with such an adult like manner is completely pointless. If he would of covered classic sets or discontinued ones, I would understand. But instead he's building his "Lego Mall' which can you imagine putting years of your life into something as trivial as building blocks. Hey Trik, coming back to this comment a year later, I was looking at some LEGO studios sets, and i noticed that set #1354, has the blue undershirt that you mentioned in one of the Egypt reviews, so Ms. Storm did have that torso piece, just not in an official adventurers set. Just decided to let you know about it, in case no one else did. Hope to see you back and better than ever soon!
Your reviews are fantastic, thanks so much for making them so informative, professional & fun to watch! Haha I loved it when you added more jungle! Ps-i like the moulded baseplates, I cant get enough of them!
Finally, someone managed to do a proper review of this serie. Thank you Mr. TB ! These sets were available for a very short period of time in my country when I was a kid so I never had the chance to get any of them...
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! I actually didn’t have any of these as a kid, either - I was too busy collecting the new Star Wars sets - but my brother did, so I’m thankful that I at least got to play with some of them. Thanks again for watching! 😎👍
Yeah I guess Star Wars outshined Adventurers at the time... I wonder : what is your background music? It really reminds me of some 50s pulp adventure movie
Thanks! The music is actually my own, all original composition, but definitely inspired by those old soundtracks. One of my favorite parts of putting these retrospectives together is coming up with all the different musical themes, so it’s nice to hear it’s appreciated. 😊
Wow! That's an amazing set! With rock and mountain designs, a bridge and so much details and play features. I like the skeleton that falls, and most of all the crocodile. :D
Cool to see another Adventurers set! I really like the boat (too bad that you got the wrong one at first - thank the stars for BL! :-D). I really like the baseplate actually but I see you point on padding the piece count. And, I agree fully on the ToD vide in this set! Good to see that the minifigs got their coffee needs covered :-D It's an interesting set but I agree on your final judgement and I really liked your palmtree modification! Great :-D Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work!
Well I just binged all of your Adventurers videos and I absolutely loved them! It is really nice to find another person who enjoys this theme as much as me. I am hoping to complete my collection in a few years, but I've got a long way to go. It is unfortunate that we will likely never see this theme again, I'm curious which themes/sets (Indiana Jones aside) that have come since best capture some of the wonderful aspects of Adventures? For example, I think the Lego City Jungle sub-theme is quite nice. Well, I eagerly await your coverage of the Adventure's excursion to Dino Island!
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed them! I still have my fingers crossed that someday Lego will give us another Adventurers wave... I’d really love to see what they could do with modern elements and building techniques. And I’d say you’re probably right with the city Jungle sets are probably the closest things we’ve got to the spirt of the Adventurers, although I would’ve liked to have seen a more grand jungle temple. And yes, hopefully Dino Island reviews will be coming sooner rather than later! So stay tuned and thanks for watching! 😎👍
My brother and I got it one summer from Wal Mart for $25! Came back the next week and grabbed the Space Shuttle Launch Pad for the same price. Great summer.
I always wanted this set when I was a kid, but never had it. Durying the covid pandemic I built it and the rest of the adventurers sets using Lego Digital Designer. Nowadays I still conserve some anventurers sets, like the sphinx, the valley of the kings, and the Anubis tomb... Relics from my childhood.
I got this and the big space shuttle kit one Christmas, needless to say it was the best Xmas ever, I really wish I kept them together, most of the pieces are lost. It was one of the kits I would look at in magazines and dream of having. I was so lucky. I still have one of the long pieces with the ancient carvings to remember it. 5:22 argh I remember playing with that pot! 6:15 I do have that palm tree though, I need to go to my friends parents house and dig through his LEGO like a goblin freak.
I had and loved this set as a kid. And when I saw the Knights Kingdom castle in magazines but didn't have enough allowance to afford it, I noticed the baseplates between that one and this one were the same mold in different colors so I did my best to recreate the castle on the jungle plate.
thank you for sharing this. I found the remains of this set and thought I had a Islanders set. Then I started finding safari guys with cameras and get thoroughly confused
My favorite set. I remember when my father bought me back in 1999, it was 400 Deutsche marks. I used to play a lot with it and boat on bathtub, i freaking loved it. Cried of happiness. Then me and my friend separated pieces, my mother tossed instruction manual in trash (thought i didn't need it anymore) and never rebuilt it. Later on summer guests found pieces stashed in cushion and stole them, i lost everything except that green big thing. 2 years later i found (2001) 5988 in store, barely convinced my dad and days later i never got it because someone bought it. Oh well... Nothing lasts forever. I was happy with it while it lasted, too old now. I can still buy both though with 7419 but it doesn't feels same. Too old to play with toys, i have something else to play in my life.
Oh also i forgot to mention that i had in mind to get 5978 and 5987. I still have 5955 and that other jeep Thunder's car in Dino Island. I'm saving them to give those two to my kids later.
Wow, what a roller coaster of emotion! Lol... but a great story! And you can never be too old to play with toys! (At least that’s what I keep telling myself.) 😄
+TrikBrix I wish that's true but it doesn't feels same. Perhaps with my kids it'd be one day if my wife doesn't look at me as childish person, but building is more fun to me than playing. At least for me that's like that nowadays. For example i loved when i built my computer for the first time, lot to think how to do it. Nowadays kids are too much addicted to videogames than playing with Lego. Rarely prefer both to do. Perhaps i'll get these before i go with buying self a car just so i can build them once and reconstruct it in the boxes till i have kids. They're fun to play, but more fun to build.
I agree - and I’m kinda the same way. I don’t actually ‘play’ with Lego per se, but building/collecting is the real draw for me. And I’m a pretty nostalgic person, so that plays into it as well.
@@TrikBrix But you love very much Lego palm trees :3 Will you also review 7327 (Pharaoh's Quest) and what's your opinion about it? Think it fits with 5988?
I had this set still have the tribe chief and the cowboy hat guy I didn’t know how old this set was and took it apart to build other stuff I even have the whole base piece
This was another exciting trip! The printed pieces here are almost exactly the same types as in the desert subtheme. As if the designers were tasked to reinterpret the same pieces for a different setting :-). There are less printed pieces here compared to Pharaoh's Forbidden Ruins, probably because of the huge baseplate. Either way, I love this set and theme. It deserved more medium sized structures and more sets overall. But at least it got a fantastic video series with its very own soundtrack, thanks to you, Jamie :-). PS: a teaser for a space theme? I'm excited!
Thanks, Glenn! I agree that we should’ve seen more Jungle sets released. Maybe they were just too busy rolling out Star Wars at the time. And if you like space themes... stick around. 😄👍 Thanks again for watching!
Thanks so much! I can’t really give you an exact date; two more videos to complete in the MTron Retrospective, and possibly a few random sets after that, but more Adventurers are coming, I promise! 😎👍
I would love to see a modification to this set. Basically, the building across the bridge, is moved up front. The bridge is replaced with a trap floor, and a new ruins building is placed in the back with the main sun disk. Perhaps the center has a trap and a pit, and side things, maybe like a puzzle game with plates. Adventurer has to open a door by doing a specific code
Come to think of it, sadly you forgot to Show off the modularity of the set. You can actually move the plates around on the baseplate, even the top of the middle section which is advertised on the Box and instructions
Well, that sucks... I must not have been paying attention to the instructions, lol! Maybe I’ll do a Special Edition review of it for the 20th anniversary of TrikBrix. 😄
@@TrikBrix I'm gonna be in my late 30s by then 😂 Well if you Plan on doin' a top 25 adventurers sets like you did for pirates, you could Show it off. If Amazon Ancient ruins makes the list of course... Which sets of dino island are you currently still missing?
Lol, I’ll be in my 50s! 😄 I’ve already got a rough outline of the top 25 Adventurers sets, and AAR is currently sitting at #9, so it’ll be on the list. As far as Dino Island goes, I have the Research Compound, Tracker, and the Glider. Next on my list to get is the Island Hopper (unless I find a great deal on one of the other sets first).
@@TrikBrix I think Nummer 9 seems like a fair place for it to be. As far as Dino Island goes, I think each of these sets are pretty cool. I wasn't a Fan of the t rex transport ,but now that I own it, I Gotta say it is a very good set and that boat is pretty pretty large given the price of the set:D
This was a rough era for Lego. Flagship sets were too over-reliant on giant baseplates with too little for the part bin, a lot like the King Leo’s Castle set which is an embarrassing build masked by the same plate. This era hit when I was starting to age out of these play themes but I don’t feel any more inspired when I’m looking at them now. Besides the boat set from earlier this season, nothing here is very impressive even compared to the Egypt line from a year prior.
The Amazon/jungle Lego Adventurers theme was too short lived and underrated. I was chuffed when I was able to buy the River Expedition (5876) from a Toys R Us a few years after it was discontinued in UK and I was able to find a PDF of this set's instructions and build by own version with what I had at the time. BTW for detailed parts, I recommend a site called bricklink.com, it has instructions, rare pieces, merchandise and much more. Check it out!
Agreed... and that’s awesome that you were able to put together your own version! And I’ve done my fair share of bricklinking... my wallet HATES BrickLink, lol. Thanks for watching! 😎👍
I agree with you. I also think it could use some extra pieces to make it more detailed. Also the boat imo could use some extra decoration. Still the traps are fantastic to play around with.
Agreed. It needed about 50% more pieces to really contend with Pharaoh’s Forbidden Ruins. But, I guess that makes it a good candidate for customization! Thanks for watching! 😎👍
If this were made today it would be more brick built and more muted colors. It would look great with more brown, tan, light orange, and masonry bricks. Instead of all the blue and yellow.
Yeah, it’s definitely more colorful than any actual ancient ruins I’ve ever seen, lol. I’d love to see a modern update of this using more earth tones... maybe someday! 😊👍
I wonder if Lego realizes how many people are interested in rereleases and reimagined retro sets. So many adult colectors and parents of the new generation of Lego builders that would jump on the chance to get sets they couldn't as kids.
If they don’t realize that yet, I certainly hope they do soon. It seems like nostalgia is a HUGE part of many other toy manufacturers right now, and I think they’d be smart to jump on the bandwagon. Even if it was some sort of crowd-funded thing, or a preorder, where they know they’re not going to lose money. I mean, look how well the classic spaceman set from Lego Movie 2 has sold, and I don’t really think we have the movie to thank for that. People want to relive their childhood experiences.
Same here! I think I bought 3-4 of them and gave a few away, just so other people could experience their vintage charm. Even though they’re technically a movie tie-in, they still remind me of the old days when licensed Lego wasn’t really a thing, and the story was completely up to your imagination.
Tbh I actually prefer the Jungle theme over Egypt. Yes, it is a much smaller theme, but I feel that the sets are more consistent and surprisingly have a lot to offer. I feel like Egypt had too many sets and can be hit or miss.
I'm gonna pretend that Palomar and Rudo hitched a ride in Gabbaro's boat to get to the ruins but some time before arriving Palomar decided he had no more use for Rudo anymore so he betrayed him by tricking Rudo into looking over the side of the boat and then pushed him into the river(which shocked Gabbaro) Whether Rudo survived the river or not is up to you. Besides we need an explanation to why we don't see Rudo in this set.
That’s a cool way of looking at it... my version would be that Harry Cane crashed into Rudo with the blimp to save Johnny and the others, and they both died in a spectacular explosion... but that idea may be a bit much for a children’s toy, lol. 😄
Fair enough! Even tho I love this set I do admit the cost/amount of pieces relation is quite unfair... The plate is beautiful, however. (I love the blue, rocky river) I really love the color in these jungle sets. Great stuff as always. Pretty hyped for Dino Island!
Definitely not a good price to piece ratio, especially with today’s resale value. And I agree with you on the baseplate; it really adds a lot to the look of the set. Thanks, and thanks for watching! 😎👍

My favorite Lego Set I've ever owned.
Such an awesome set and vid
I love your lego adventurers videos! When will you upload the next one?
Thanks so much! I can’t really give you an exact date; two more videos to complete in the MTron Retrospective, and possibly a few random sets after that, but more Adventurers are coming, I promise! 😎👍
Love the retrospectives :D
I loved those huge mountain baseplates (:
That 2x2 Mod Curved Top Brick in Tan is no longer exclusive, it now appeared in set 11004 Windows of Creativity in the Creator line.
This set is amazing. With like 200 pieces of details more could be great.
Are you planning to review 7419 and 5987?
Definitely! They’ll be in season 3 & 4, respectively.
This one was also one of my dream sets as a kid. At least I was lucky enough to have 5936 aka Spider's Secret
Are you gonna do a Dino island video?
Adventurers was such a good theme
this set is perfect no other words
Glad you liked it! And thanks so much for watching! 😎👍
well I would immediately pick it up if I find a good deal on eBay
I would love to see a modification to this set.
Basically, the building across the bridge, is moved up front.
The bridge is replaced with a trap floor, and a new ruins building is placed in the back with the main sun disk.
Perhaps the center has a trap and a pit, and side things, maybe like a puzzle game with plates.
Adventurer has to open a door by doing a specific code
I wish they would bring these old sets back
Raised base plates were awesome
You deserve way more than 374 subscribers great review keep it up 👍
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it! 😎👍
I have this set and absolutely love it!
When i recieved this set for christmas i was so happy
Would love to see Dino Island!
@@TrikBrix I'm gonna be in my late 30s by then 😂
Well if you Plan on doin' a top 25 adventurers sets like you did for pirates, you could Show it off. If Amazon Ancient ruins makes the list of course...
Which sets of dino island are you currently still missing?
Lol, I’ll be in my 50s! 😄
I’ve already got a rough outline of the top 25 Adventurers sets, and AAR is currently sitting at #9, so it’ll be on the list.
I wasn't a Fan of the t rex transport ,but now that I own it, I Gotta say it is a very good set and that boat is pretty pretty large given the price of the set:D
how much did it cost you
Were Minifigs even able to hold those rifles properly? Or were they restricted to holding them in resting positions?
They could hold them correctly I have about 4 of the element
You could use the baseplate to make a
Massive temple
2:26 I Want That Boat.
Are u gonna do the lego fright knights sets?
Maybe someday! I don’t have any Fright Knight sets yet, but it’s an interesting theme!
@@TrikBrix ok thanks! :)
Still hoping for the Dino Island and Orient Expedition seasons
I never knew they created an entirely different palm tree mould for these sets, I wonder why - at a distance they look pretty similar.
13:10 this cracked me up
The Amazon/jungle Lego Adventurers theme was too short lived and underrated.
You should do Lego Islanders!
Already in the works! They’ll be featured in my Pirates Retrospective. Thanks for watching! 😎👍
I agrea with you in the pricey of this awsome set.
So cool, but sooo expensive!
Wish i could find baseplates like that
Where's the next part? :) Still waiting
Pls keep up the content! :’(
The Adventurers line is just Indiana Jones without the license
5986 is my dream hahaha
I agree with you. I also think it could use some extra pieces to make it more detailed. Also the boat imo could use some extra decoration.
Still the traps are fantastic to play around with.
Agreed. It needed about 50% more pieces to really contend with Pharaoh’s Forbidden Ruins. But, I guess that makes it a good candidate for customization! Thanks for watching! 😎👍
@@TrikBrix Pretty cool set still tho. Esspecially for us long time Fans
For sure!
@@TrikBrix I still hope that Adventurers will return in all its glory one day.
So do I... as much as I love Star Wars, and some of the other licensed themes, I really wish they’d return to some of these old in-house properties.
I love all the booby traps but over all I am not as impressed as I thought I would be. It is a great video and I love your music!
Yeah, I wasn’t either... but still cool! Just too expensive! Thanks for watching! 😊👍
Tbh I actually prefer the Jungle theme over Egypt. Yes, it is a much smaller theme, but I feel that the sets are more consistent and surprisingly have a lot to offer. I feel like Egypt had too many sets and can be hit or miss.
I disagree
I'm gonna pretend that Palomar and Rudo hitched a ride in Gabbaro's boat to get to the ruins but some time before arriving Palomar decided he had no more use for Rudo anymore so he betrayed him by tricking Rudo into looking over the side of the boat and then pushed him into the river(which shocked Gabbaro)
Whether Rudo survived the river or not is up to you.
@@TrikBrix Lol wow..... though if that happened it probably would have caused a forest fire
Maybe... unless Rudo was on his little raft in the middle of the Amazon River. Lol, there’s so many stories to be imagined!
Trikbrix please do orient expedition
I have 16 of those sun discs haha
Where is season 3 😢
