Hi buddy, I have been working on these 400mm planes for about 3 weeks now. I have all the planes in the series. Best thing you can do is get a decent 4 in 1 transmitter as the transmitter you get with it, is quite poor and has no movement around the centre of the pots. In the front of the spit is a compartment and that is where your penny goes as it flies tail heavy as you say. You need to get it in the air and see how it flies and correct the surfaces by manually adjusting the control rods so it flies straight and level. All your trims should stay in the middle. It should fly straight and level at cruising speed or just above that. Expo you will need around 15% with full surface movement. I hope this helps you. All my planes fly in non stabilised mode and are fully aerobatic, including stall turns. These planes are worth every penny. Good luck.

So do u take out the radio that’s in them and put micro rx in and do without the stability set up

    • @terrymurphy562
      @terrymurphy562 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@Blacklamass no need to replace the receiver. You need to get something like a jumper pro 4 in 1 multi protocol radio,£80ish and bind the radio to the plane using the v761 protocol. V761 is the protocol used by sonic and eachine micro planes. Their latest plane is the zero and again it is the v761 protocol. Honestly it’s just much better and you can set it up as you like.

I got mine last week and mine flies great in beginner and intermediate mode. I’ve tried expert mode and it’s just to fast and small for me.but the other two modes are great.

Interesting video. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I have a Spit, Bf109, and P40 and also a Sport Cub 500. All the same sort of thing, and all tail heavy when in expert mode except for the Bf109 which is the best trimmed and the one I can fly in expert mode as it came in the box. With the Spitfire I did try to alter the servo horn position so the elevator did not move from expert to one of the other two modes but this resulted in it trimmed for expert mode but in the other modes it now wanted to dive, and I think this is because the gyro cannot trim it enough back the other way. Nose weight others add, and this is probably an alternative fix, as you've done. Having said all that most people (and myself) avoid expert mode as these planes are too susceptible to wind variations, and Midd is the most lively, and beginner the most relaxed for flying. So I would say to people just use the stabilised modes and enjoy the flights. You can just fly 'right stick only' as it pretty much holds altitude when turning, so I guess the stabilisation is assisting there too. Both sticks is most fun though. They do an incredible job (tech not possible a few years ago) for such inexpensive machines, they look scale (although they do a scale mach 1.5) and I have many videos of very controlled passes with these. The best thing is, you don't have to panic about crashing, and if you do, glue fixes it in minutes. Just buy plenty of props. Don't land under power to save props. Also a proper transmitter some say improves things too. So those are a few tips from me to add to your comments. Hope that helps.

I got mine today, August 1st, 2022. I took it down to the park and mine flies exactly how you have described it in the video. I've also been flying models for many years and this model was not an enjoyable experience at all. My flight in expert mode lasted all of five seconds! 😁

This is the best explanation why these planes are so twitchy, if you fly with a Radiomaster transmitter you can soften the movement of the control surfaces a great deal. I believe the spit is the twitchiest of all these mini warbirds. Thanks.

I have a Spitfire and it flew kind of weird but once I got around it I was able to flip it in and out of expert mode to do really crazy maneuvers plus if you got it trimmed right in expert mode it flew pretty dang well inverted

  • @rc-fannl7364

Looks like a faulty elevator servo or transmitter elevator stick. Since it's more smooth in modes where the gyro is active, the transmitter seems to be the biggest suspect. Mechanically trimming these small planes is a must indeed, if using expert mode.

Not sure if this is related...but the P51 V2 I received had a bad aileron servo. Amazingly, Banggood sent me a replacement for no charge! After a very carefully done replacement the plane has been flying great...though fairly ridiculous and impossible in expert mode. I just ordered the F4U and purchased an extra servo just to have one on hand. Cheers from Colorado.

Of course it won't fly like a bigger plane, it relies heavily on the self stabilising system, which works very well on mine. You need to 'jab' the controls instead of keeping them steady. Expert mode doesn't have stabilisation, you might be able to fly it on a windless day but I wouldn't advise it close to the ground. I think it's an excellent beginner plane, even lets me do aerobatics safely. But, yeh, for someone with years of experience it probably feels weird. I'm hoping to graduate to old school balsa built glowplug flying, once I got the hang of this, especially orientation and landing.

I'm told, that the Spitfire is proving to be the worst and twitchiest flyer 'out of the box' (in all modes), by a long way. I have the Bf109, and the Corsair, and although a relative beginner, I've found them both, fast enough to be fun, but predictable enough to fly with some confidence after a while. I'm expecting a Bangood delivery of the P51 Mustang, in the next few days, and have heard rumours that an FW190 might be on the cards quite soon.

hi there, love the video,I did what you did with the weight, changed the servo arm's on the elevators for e-flite umx ones, fly's a lot smoother, but now fly on beginner mode,or expert,in effect I use beginner mode as safe, for some reason intermediate, doesn't want to know

Either you have a faulty elevator servo, or you have a binding push rod on the fuselage probably in its hole. Either try bending the push rod so it doesn't bind or use a drop or two of silicon oil to make it move freely without binding. Or put the push rods on the elevator In the furthest hole from it's surface for less authority. If you are having the same problem with the rudder, do the same as you have done to the elevator. It's a shame, as my eachine mini war birds have been perfect with very little problems so far. Or either your motherboard or controller is malfunctioning.

I have simmilar problems with mine. Few times i almost crashed in intermediate mode cause elevators didnt respond. It only happens in intermediate. Also think that plane is tail heavy cause in leveled flight nose goes up even in 2 lower modes and i need constantly keep elevator down to fly leveled. It doesnt climb mutch on first 2 modws but on expert mode my plane just goes to loop and stalls. I will try to put some weight on the nose and see what happens

    • @Blacklamass

You have to trim the plane in all the fight modes then fly it, and weight on the front, I give up with mine.

I have the Spit and my Son has the P51 and they both fly perfectly straight from the box, not twitchy at all. We dogfight in the park and they will fly for easily over ten minutes on a charge. I think you've maybe got a dodgy one.

You need to open the wing, and looking for the eleveter servo armed- move the Z band wayer horn to the last hole / the top hole . How : open the small silver screw on elevator servo Armed using mini + hand screw, and using (-)small screw to open levting servo armed and move slowly the small z band to the top howl. and put or screw them back to potition,! Make sure when you put them back the plane is ON and the gyro is Off good Luck!

Shifting the servo/control horns points will badly limit your turning ability in the Stabilized modes. It would be better to use an OpenTX Multi Module radio on V761 protocol and set it to limit the throws in the Manual Mode only. Setting up the plane to be trimmed for level flight in Manual is sensible as is doing a forced Gyro Calibration with the plane set at the correct level flying attitude before arming the motor. Tightening up the linkages is good and with the better stick resolution, limited throws on manual and some expo plus your COG corrections, it should fly better. If not, then you do indeed have a dud!
Oh and Sonik is just another re-brand label for the Volantex V761 series planes as sold in the UK. There are heaps of them in different countries. And 1 final thing, unless you have eyes like a eagle it would be better to colour your pop-off props with a bright coloured marker pen. The black ones are damned hard to spot in the grass or scrub! ;-)

The plane now flys well in expert mode more like s real model with my mods, in all modes it’s a 100% better, also the C/G needs to be sorted with 2g up front.
There is more than enough movement in all modes, and you don’t have to tear it apart to put proper radio in it, I
Have lost even more on the elevator now and it still loops, rolls and flys inverted it’s now a fun model 👍🏻
