Haven’t watched the video yet, got it paused but I know self sabotage, I’ve dealt with it my entire life. From the age of 14 I got really hooked on drugs, (I got a month clean atm) and since then it feels like I truly am my worst enemy. I should honestly be studied on my ability to build up my life with a solid job, friends and relationships, then burn it all to the ground, become heartbroken about the situation, pissed at myself for ensuring I suffer, then say fuck it and shoot up heroin because at least I’ll get a solid few hours of relief. Then one day you wake up, with fucking nothing but the clothes on your back because you’ve traded everything to avoid running out of dope. Your head is pounding, then finally you scream violently with tears streaming down your cheeks wondering how you ended up here. It’s all a blur. I got lucky and have my mom who’s a wonderful parent and person. She got me into rehab one last time and I’m alive rn because of it.
I'm glad this is posted. It's gonna catch a lot of flack from most and resonate with some, but generally good on Nolan for sharing his perspective. Keep em' coming and you grow and change.
there is no generalized answers to theses questions, every person is very complex with their own sets of circumstances, it's not always self sabotage. Don't be so arrogant, it seems like you speak from a place of privilege looking down, but you're still young, you lack experience, horrible things can happen to you which are completely out of your control. Your cup is full, and life will teach you to empty your cup. If you're not humble, life will humble you, and then you'll be wiser than giving unsolicited advice on the internet.
@@NolanUlm privilege doesn't only mean financial situation, it can be any aspect of your life that you take for granted, and fail to see other didn't have such lucky circumstances as yourself. For someone so young you're very opinionated and think "you have things figured out", it reminds me of so many "self improvement life coach gurus" who are just selling "an image" but actually have some kind of personality disorder and have zero self awareness. Please don't be another one, eat some humble pie.
Why so salty? You sound way more ignorant then him. He's giving a good thought opinion of how he thinks self sabotaging is. I don't think he claims saying hea perfect and nkt self sabotaging himself so why have such a hateful point of view about this video? Sounds like you're the one that needs sime self reevaluating.
I appreciate that counter. I am definitely very blessed, and also not- it all depends on how you look at things. I am not sure everything is "lucky" this is one 14 minute video of my whole life and unless you have all the context it is hard to make some of the claims you are making. I really just want to help people and impact others, I am not opinionated I just am saying what has worked for me and many other people I know, I am super open to hearing different perspectives. I understand I have my own blind spots and work every day to find them, I hope you have a great day and thank you for your comments!
@@symijohn you confused me for someone who cares about your opinion. Both you and a guy in his twenties who thinks he can be a "life coach" because he's so delusionally narcissistic he thinks he "made it", it's just laughable. If you want self- improvement, take a note of what I just said. You're in no position to give advice, neither of you.
People need to water fast. It's not as simple as turning off a switch. Its physiological, phycological. Blocks are put there by the subconscious because of persistent trauma and bs. You gotta understand not everyone is living in a bubble like you. You probably don't have elements outside of your control that effect your mind I mean real challenges like disability and disfunction.
It is hard to address every single individual scenario in one video. There are general principles and strategies that work with this issue and that is what I am covering. I haven't lived in a bubble at all, I am from poverty and low income housing, I still have challenges everyday just like we all do. We all have this happen for us in our life and all we can do is control the controllable so that is what I do and coach others to do. Disability is a real thing and that is not who I am talking to at all in this video, that is a whole nother world.
