I went to Kanata 8 months ago and i totally fell in love just after spending a night over. I don’t know, it’s just such an amazing beautiful suburb to me. Special. I live in Toronto, so overall it’s still higher than Kanata. Hence cost of living isn’t a problem in my decision.
For the most part I enjoyed the video. I respectfully disagree with you though when you say that one of the benefits of Kanata is its proximity to downtown. The distance from Kanata Centrum to Parliament Hill is 23km. Maybe in some of the world's largest metropolises that would be considered close but certainly not by Ottawa standards.
As someone who moved from Toronto, 23km seems a breeze here lol. Not a lot of congestion so it goes quick. Ill give myself a few months, maybe ill change my mind.
Same with Richmond. Man, I peddled my ass off on my bicycle trying to get into the city.Some people think it is worth it. Different strokes for different folks I suppose..have a great day ✌

I agree by Ottawa standards but a lot of people moving from across the World may have different perspectives based on their own experiences. Best!
