      So true all of the middle age 2 stroke hero’s can’t handle it . I’m a fan of anything with 2 wheels and can appreciate all forms of bikes from vintage right through to the stark . Mx bikes and enduro I love it all . I don’t get why people can’t appreciate something different. It’s like they are treatened by them or are just jealous they can’t afford one

      @@Ozfreerider_adventures I don't even care if you appreciate it, but the fact that someone is so irate about a different kind of motorcycle is dumbfounding to me. Seriously is someone forcing them to buy it. We all know the limitations. We know you can just put gasoline in your 2-Stroke and go again. We know all these things.

    I've had my Varg for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. I'm not a track guy but do single track all the the time in the AZ desert and the Varg is amazing. 2 weeks ago we rode 25 miles/3.5 hrs (including breaks) which was plenty for me and I still had 50% battery left. I threw a paddle on it and hit up the Glamis dunes last weekend and not surprisingly the battery drained quicker but was still able to get in plenty of riding (about half as much as on hard ground). The balance and performance are top notch IMO, brakes and suspension are excellent. On hard ground/singletrack, at 45 hp and moderately aggressive riding I can get in around 40-50 miles which is PLENTY for this old fart. Charging takes around 2.5 hrs on a 240v generator, around 3 hrs on a regular 110v outlet. I still have my gas bike but given that the Varg can give me what I can handle at my age, I prob won't ride it much more.

    Really guys crying about a $45 plug. Bike is 12K. Pretty much every bike owner drops endless cash in their new bike. Suspension, exhaust, ignition, engine mods etc. it’s not going to replace your bike you use for 3 plus hr rides but it has a place for shorter rides and doing Motos. I did a ride day at a moto track, they ran three bikes all day doing 15 min Moto’s. Schedule was two big bike Motos followed by two small bike Motos. They charged the bikes during the half hr break and ran all day with plenty of pro A and AA riders. Every rider was blown away by how good the bike is, cornering is amazing, very well balanced and suspension works so well without the engine inertia. They are a whole lotta fun to ride when you forget about clutching and shifting and focus on form.

    Props to you Kyle for doing this. This is the future, like it or not. Once they get the battery life right and easy to swap battery’s + long term reliability I will switch over. Customizable power that’s awesome. We want reliable bikes. Faster charge times.

    • @Fireballsocal
      @Fireballsocal 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Look up a replacement cost for a new battery and then get back to me on it being the future. Much like EV automobiles where people are just finding about about the battery lifespan being 12-15 years, this is essentially a throwaway device as few will pop for a $6-7K battery in 10 years.

    Electric power is much better than gas. After riding an electric bike everything else will feel slow. They are much easier to ride as well. The problem with electrics is still the range and the charging time. It is getting better quickly though.

    • @easternyellowjacket276
      @easternyellowjacket276 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep. The technological revolution with EV's obviously is going to be the battery and charge time. Might take the Japanese manufacturers to provide those technological breakthroughs once they start releasing EV bikes. For now though, it would be nice if the batteries weren't 6 grand and could be hot swapable.

      1. Bike sucks ‘cause it only has 2,5h of moving range for his type of riding. Suspension is too stiff (it’s a MX..)

The one in my house is one type, and the one on my generator is the other type. Why they do this, I have no idea. I don’t use adapters though, I just change the plug on whatever I’m trying to plug in, to the type of receptacle I plan to plug it into.

    Resubscribed. Looking forward to your adventure on this thing. Glad to hear your comments on the EM. I remember your first impression trashed it hard. It's not a traditional dirt bike by any stretch of the imagination. It's more trials, and lots of fun for different reasons. Great balance trainer, etc. As for Electrics like the Varg, they aren't going to replace ICE bikes anytime soon. Battery technology would have to have a revolution. If/when EV's become more popular, I'd imagine tracks would have charging outlets available instead of people running generators, unless the track is really remote. My EM has a clutch and I have never used it. The EM can' only go about 25mph. In the tight technical stuff it excels at, you are 98% of the time at low speed. All you gotta do is blip the throttle and the front end goes right up. I'd imagine an 80 hp Varg would pull the front up at high speed with all that power, provided there is traction. But I'm sure you'll have fun testing that out. Enjoy it for what it is. I look forward to your rides on it and the adventure this takes you on.

    My observations after 1 week and @15 hours of ride time.. (A Level Racer Florida Trail Riders).. 18"rear wheel, 80 hp version, left handle brake.. fit/finish very good... Many KTM sourced parts, wheels, brakes, sprockets. kick stand is garbage. bike is very narrow. Weight is a non issue in single track. Suspension is above average and stiff..Anything above @45 hp is worthless... 60/80 hp is beyond worthless aside from bragging rights at the local pub. Torque is immediate and great for log/rock hopping... Charge time is beyond excessive. battery life is fair for single track, @ 2 hours (@40 HP).. cannot swap out $8k spare battery. Overall a very cute novelty for the well healed... Bike has ZERO personality, soulless and lacks character... It feels like a electric mountain bike on steroids... Once the novelty wears off... The Stark will sit in a corner...AND at nearly $15 is a extremely poor value...

    The paying for the bike in full upfront is so iffy. I'm more interested in the Arctic Leopard EXE 880 with the clutch. We have one coming should be here this week. Larger battery, thus more range and was made more for Enduro riding. Also the motor and controller are separate and the battery although a pain can be changed in about 20-30 minutes.
    People not understand a good use for electric are simple minded. Home tracks, if you are quiet no one will care. Social trails, again if you are quiet no one knows thus they don't care. Also you don't have to only own one bike at a time, I never understood that thought process. Each bike is a different use, people always trying to full fill their riding with ONE bike is funny.

What if you bought a 700 CC Macio or if any of the big manufacturers were to make a big mill motor that made 80 horsepower then you would be on an even playing field. It's like comparing a 125 to a 450 of course the 450 is going to be faster. Are you picking up what I'm putting down?

    The price of these E's is a little over the top, I agree with your assessment on that part.

    Swamp moto just put up a video of trying to compete in a 50 min gp on the varg. Even setting it down to 40 hp , no deep sand , no mud to speak of , it barely crossed the finish line , with absolutely no advantage on the " gassers". Around him.... To the riders credit and the bike ,it was competitive right up until it wasn't , and in limp mode. No way would it finish a muddy Ohio 2 hr xc race....

    I wish I could get every bike in a crate. I don't mind paying assembly fee to the dealer, but they are always a bunch of fuck ups and do a lousy job. I hate paying mechanics who don't care about your vehicles. I do everything myself. Sometimes I won't even let them do warranty work if the cost of parts is reasonable to do it myself. Every time I take a car, truck, or moto to s dealer or shop, I end up going through and finding shit they leave loose, break, or make worse in some way. Sorry for the rant, but I can't help myself. Never pay someone else to do a job you can learn and do better, yourself.

    I was pro electric until I found out how long the battery’s last on a electric car and how MUCH it is to replace. Imagine buying a car and then paying damn near the price of the car after like 8 years. Plus if I’m riding I have to wait for battery’s to charge or replace. There goes a riding all day.

      You should make a video then because you will be the first one ever documented with that opinion. 🤣Even out of pro's that have ridden multiple bikes from every manufacturer there is. And as far as the weight it feels like a 125 because it doesn't have rotational mass and you don't need a clutch LOL. Don't even need one when riding Hard Enduro let alone MX.

I've had many different dirtbikes and enduros, so much fun to take the Ultra Bee for a spin, just turn the key and give it the beans, don't need to worry about letting it warm up, fill gas, swap the air filter, change the oil, check valves, charge the 12 v battery.. and the Bee is so much lighter, plus it has reverse, traction controll, different powermodes etc. so it feels kinda like cheating sometimes
