    I’ve always thought of minimalism as something simple, but I can see how it could be considered a luxury too. The idea of stripping away the excess and focusing only on high-quality, meaningful things there’s something inherently luxurious about that

      It’s like how some minimalist homes feature expensive, beautifully designed furniture, even though there’s not much of it. You’re still living with luxury, just without the clutter

      and it’s not just about material things either. Minimalism applies to time, too. Think about it-by cutting out distractions and unnecessary commitments, you free up more time to focus on experiences, relationships, or personal growth. That’s a kind of luxury money can’t always buy

    • @NelleHummell
      @NelleHummell 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. Time and peace of mind are probably the ultimate luxuries. When you live minimally, you’re also mentally decluttering. You get to focus on what truly matters to you without being overwhelmed by the noise of too much stuff physical or mental.

    • @AliciaCrone

      that’s where minimalism intersects with a broader sense of well-being. It’s like you’re curating your life, not just your possessions. But do you think most people can achieve that balance without some guidance? I mean, even knowing how to start can be overwhelming for some

    Friedmunt is not a minimalist. He has a house cluttered with stuff and multiple buildings with no doubt even more stuff. He is a recluse. Which is fine, but it has nothing to do with minimalism.

      @@SilkandButterflies I use to Volunteer in a charity shop about 20 years ago and a German Man with his family came in the shop and he was totally flummoxed and bewilded by the shop, he was asking endless questions about how the shop runs, that it's for charity that shocked him, then a member of the public Came in and brought in some articles in bags to be donated, (sorted and sold, again) that totally flabbergasted him in fact he asked so many questions it got uncomfortable and his wife Had to step in and stop him. I assumed from that incident that they didn't have charity shops in Germany because the concept blew his mind.
      Also when I was in Turkey just a few years ago they had a shop in town that was called "the English shop" which sold all second hand goods in the style of a charity shop, but it wasn't an actual charity shop.

    Nope. Minimalism without youtube pushes people to abject depression. One needs to be a part of the crowd for any resemblance of mental health and life satisfaction. Minimalism, going against the flow virtually guaranty loneliness and isolation. Even if you can tolerate those in the name of minimalism, calling yourself "happy" person is a stretch.

      For a minimalist he had a lot of clutter in his house. I don't think the title minimalist applies to this man, this is a man retreating from the world not simplifying his life by not having unnecessary objects, owning things you don't need.

    Christine is not true minimalist. Her "new" lifestyle IS NOT radically different from the old one. What She is doing reminds me the phenomenon of greenwashing. It is quite a different story with a man living solitary in the middle of the forest - very close to Nature. His authenticity has been tested by a very long period of this kind of life. Amazingly, He outpaced famous David Thoreau Who lived on the bank of His famous pond much shorter than 30 years. So, my congratulations to Him and Best Wishes!!!!!
