I love seeing all of the creativity and effort that your daughter put into her notebooks! My son is the “let’s just get it done type” and dislikes being artsy/creative. I’m praying that my daughter grows up loving the fun and creative things so I can enjoy creating with her. Great job on what looks to have been an awesome school year and getting your room/closet organized!

Any chance you’ll do a flip through of how you do your school nest lesson planner? I’m new to it and it’s a little overwhelming but yours looks so good!

Where did you get the ideas for decorating the alphabet letters? I saw W decorated as a watermelon and Z decorated like a zebra. I’d love to do this if you don’t mind sharing! Thanks!

Hey Brittany enjoying this video. As parents it's funny how we want to keep all of our kids drawings and work. But realistic it's impossible. I agree with you on the decision of what too keep.

You've got this! This is my 9th year in the trenches homeschooling 4 kids, I promise it's not as hard as it looks. The options are overwhelming but you know what is most important for your family and what approaches will work best for you.
I'd recommend starting with a list of 3-5 priorities. That way it will be easier to eliminate curriculum that won't work for you. Ask yourself why you are homeschooling (flexible schedule? Instilling certain values or beliefs? One-on-one time?) and make that your number one priority. Some other things you might want to include in your priorities: budget, legal requirements, religious/secular/political perspective, special needs or interests, learning styles, space/portability.
Then you can search for curriculum using those priorities as keywords (for example: "free secular English curriculum" or "online Christian biology curriculum"). If you're a chart person like me, you could make a list of possibilities and how many of your priorities they hit.
If you need help or encouragement you're welcome to reach out to me by replying here. My number one advice is don't compare your homeschool to someone else's. It's great to get motivation and ideas, but the beauty of homeschooling is that you get to do it your way, at your pace, on your schedule, etc. So it shouldn't look like anyone else's!

I used Crayola free coloring pages and I printed off all of the African Countries we were studying with our Heritage Mom Pack Africa Unit Study .
