Ah man, I could see that this meant a lot to you and was straight from the heart.
You talking about growing up gay and your experiences brought a lot of memories back for me, especially the changing rooms and the library...So relatable. I haven’t gotten around to doing this type of video yet and I haven’t tried but this was encouraging.
I don’t think I would EVER go back to a school reunion. It would be too painful and your experience doesn’t make me any more positive about the idea.
Your right, it is SO IMPORTANT to do these videos and I applaud your strength and courage to tell your story, I’m appreciative of it and I’m sure others will be too.
    ❤️🤗

Thank you Lloyd. It means a lot to me to know that my story meant something. Maybe someday someone will have to live without the stigma of all of this.
Avoid school reunions. They suck, as you heard. Why would I want to go somewhere to remember a time of my life that had
negative memories attached to it? Even if there were good ones, it's still the possibility of the bad ones coming up that makes it not worth my time. Greg feels the same way, he has told me before.

Nick your honestly so inspiring. You had me in tears when you was sobbing. I can relate with being in a family who is religious and who are conservatives (my farther side of the family) but I have not told him and never will. You have had it hard my friend but look at you now your embracing it and loving yourself for who you are. I can tell your very happy now that you are with Greg, your face just lights up when you say his name. Im happy you both found each other :) Love out wins all

Awww Jake. :-) We just all need a good cry together. If you were here, you'd get lots of hugs from me!
I think we all have to go through what we go through for a reason. In the end, it makes us stronger people. I can certainly say that I am stronger and I am fairly confident that you are stronger as well.
Greg is the world to me, he came at the perfect time in my life and it's been a great 13+ years! Love is awesome! The world certainly needs more love!

I can totally relate... grew up nerdy, overweight, small southern town.
Wow. Wow. Wow. I would have burned that building down with that person inside at your reunion.
I applaud you growing up and being so much more well adjusted that I am. I still have zero tolerance for someone that doesn't 100% get on board with someone being gay.
    BIG HUG!!

      Thanks, Josh. BIG HUG!
What I went through at that reunion will never leave me. I can't believe that still really happened.
I never want to go back there. It's too depressing of a place. My only concern is someone who is like me has to be afraid of who they are. I have a feeling it hasn't changed there at all.

Thank you for making this video, fortunately for me my family was accepting when I came out (a lot of them called it before I came out) and a lot of that was thanks to my sister for coming out earlier.
I know a lot of people don’t have an easy time coming out or even coming to terms with their sexuality, I had a friend who got kicked out when he came out and I tried to do everything I could to help him because I was worried sick for him (we were together before) but he wouldn’t let me help him.

That is interesting! Glad that your family was so accepting.
However, that is sad about your friend. Sometimes it's tough for the ones closest to ones heart to accept the help they need. At least you can take some comfort in the fact that you did try to be there for him.

Thanks for sharing your story! It's so hard to hold that in for years. Especially coming from a Christian background! You're considered the worst of the worst. Also hard to accept yourself before even attempting to to have others accept us. Love watching other's stories. We need to get Gilbert to make his story still on our channel.

My friend, you just gave us all a lot of tears, a lot of understanding, a lot of education, and you bared your soul and I thank you. This video should be shared a million times over. Just by watching this video, you also give hope and relief to so many people on this earth. You and no one I come around will ever be or feel alone. I have been married to my wife for 12 years and we are the proud parents of a gay son. He came out to us at 16 years old and I responded with hugs, kisses, love, and more hugs. My only words to him were,”When you were born I made a promise to always love, protect, and support you no matter what.” This video reinforces my message that I have done ok. Like him, you have my love and support. You are beautiful, Greg is wonderful and I wish nothing but happiness for everyone. I’ll always be in the corner of the community and for anyone that sits on the sidelines because they feel out of place. The world needs more like you, Greg, and my son.
