Secondhand Serenade has some of the most emo music I have ever heard in my life. I really like all the emotion that goes into it, because I think that if songs don't make you feel, they are not worth listening to. However, every time I listen to one of these songs I just feel so bad for John and want to hug him. :/ I'm glad that he found a way to profit from his pain (turning a negative into a positive), but he still seems so miserable in all of them and it bothers me. It's been a very long time since he and his wife seperated, so I just hope he's had time to make peace with it (singers are human, too, after all).

I aspire to be like him in songwriting. He hasn't succumbed to the lack of musical complexity that most artists have, and he has forever earned to my respect.
