I know you're mostly joking, but I absolutely love these types of things in BG3/DnD. It's basically implicit storytelling because it telldnyou the character actually did believe the lie, and just needs a small last push to be completely convinced. And on the contrary had the DC increased, it would've meant whatever you said made them suspicious.

They come from a kingdom that descended into hell. A holy city that when it was saved every single one blamed the Tieflings and exiled them. I bet the though process behind this at Laurian involved some imaginary players debating with a DM about not getting what they wanted despite succeeding on the first check. The DM tries to say no again in-character, then a player shouts this and makes the DM laugh, prompting a second, practically-free roll.
They were more inclined to believe the "yuh-uh" as a more convincing statement then actually telling them that their friend by name gave them permission
Several repeated checks of "Nuh-uh" "Yuh-uh" back and forth, like the Necromancy of Thay, would be pretty funny. Earn a small +1 to checks where you're actively being a public menace
