If they make Xenoverse 3, they have to include OG Dragon Ball’s story. And I’d like to have maximum customization. Like being able to wear vegeta and Goku’s outfits from Resurrection F and fully change the colors, put patterns on it. Same with Hit’s clothes. And it’d be nice if your hair could actually change shape when you transform. And being able to go through all the forms the Frieza race has and customize the look of the forms.
We’re definitely not getting all of that lol but good on you for spreading the word. Maybe if enough people ask for those things some of them can be incorporated. Some things like customizable frieza forms are 99% likely not to be added though
The best part about having companions in PQs is how the ai is apparently programmed to knock the enemy as far away as possible every goddamn time you try to land a combo or strike super.
The companion AI isn’t that complicated and once you get to understand them, they become very useful. And yes trying to land combos or strike supers is a bad idea. But in PQs most people are usually trying to get the most damage to get them done as fast as possible. So most use ki based skills. Number one thing for CAC Helpers is make sure they have ki. Every time you use a super or ultimate they will generally try and use one of theirs as well. Adding Dodon Ray to them will insure they will always be able to use a super. The best setup is Dodon Ray- Uses no ki to use and can stun lock enemies. Evil Ray Strike- they will use this ever so often and you’ll get a free stamina break. Then moves like Spirit Bomb or Vegito Blues God Fist, the name escapes me. This moves have better accuracy. Now give them dual Savior Has Come, as whoever joins them get healed. Then Ultimates like Super Spirit Bomb, Super Ki Explosion, and Final Explosion do wonders. Maybe not a lot of damage, but they will trap the enemies in the attack giving you a chance to attack. Emperor’s Death Beam is a very great one as it traps and does a lot of damage. Lastly give them ki regen super souls so they have ki to use said attacks. Or give them the Hercule Hercule super soul to give you the chance to get plus 5% attack boost for every KO you get. Ever since I learned how the AI companions work, PQs have been nothing to me.
The most annoying thing is that there is no interruption of the enemies combo possible without stamina. If the stamina runs out, you can't do sh1t. And if there are two or three of them - yeah fantastic, thanks for the conversation. There are some things they should have adapted from Budokai Tenkaichi 3 regarding the combat system, as well as infinite time in free fights vs cpu - except a few things, it's a great game. The stages are very good and most of them are very big. Many playable characters and many skills. Musics on point as always
Short answer: Yes, it still holds up. Aside from the toxic community, it's still a great game. Just don't let that get in the way of you having fun. Good review man keep it up. Edit: I really loved the major improvements from XV1 to XV2. Also XV1 had no training mode meaning i had to learn everything through out the story. (I mean who'd make a fighting game without a practice mode -_-)

I just wished they just made xenoverse 3 instead of spamming dlc for 2. The game was great at the time but it didn't age that well when you compare it to dbfz and kakarot. Dlc also pretty costs 2 to 3 times the base game's price... which is ridiculous.

Naw, can't be the best game. It has alot of potential but the core gameplay is very surface level and it can be mastered it hours. It's a great game with LOADS of content and so much to do but the core of the Apple is a bit bitter.
Xenoverse 2 is great but it has way too many flaws even 7 yrars later. The fact the festival is now making anime accurate moves that we've paid for years ago is a slap in the face. The servers are still trash and why cant we customize basic stuff like our aura, fighting style, or even custom skills for that matter. Its always more of the same for dlc (new pqs, ss, maybe a transformation) but its not enough to keep paying for and im sick of it.
I’m not gonna lie the elder Kai mission wasn’t hard for me to do maybe it’s cause I played the game longer and anyways you don’t have to do his challenges unless you want the trophy achievement cause potential unleashed is taken from the robot missions not elder kai

oh man, xenoverse 2 is such an ugly game, i mean if you really think about it, its one of the ugliest games in the dragon ball franchise (graphics wise). it came out in 2016 and even Budokai Tenkaichi 3 from 2007 graphically looks significantly better than it. what i hate about xenoverse 2's graphics is that is it all smeared over and blurry and regardless of the resolution you're running it at it will STILL have jaggies all over the place and appear smeared and blurry, heck even character models look like they came out of an early PS2 game.. another thing i hate about xenoverse 2 is the poor controls, as a dragon ball game it probably has the worst controls out of all of them, some of the controls just make absolutely no sense, while others such as combos are exceptionally hard to rely on (even you agreed on this since you got stuck due to it). ever since i played kakarot, i honestly truly believe that xenoverse 2 is just a piece of garbage game. graphically its the best looking dragon ball game to date, gameplay wise its the best RPG style dragon ball game to date, controls wise it plays just as good as the old budokai games - the controls actually make sense and are easy to use. in all seriousness, i don't really see the point of bandai to keep maintaining xenoverse 2 anymore - they should scrap it entirely and completely rebuild it from the ground up with UE4 or UE5 and use the same assets and visual style they used in DBZ Kakarot. hopefully they could improve the controls and actually map them in a way that makes sense and also make them more reliable to the point that you can actually use the combos you want instead of having the game failing to register button presses.

How the hell can you say xenoverse 2 is one of the most ugly when battle of Z, ultimate tenkaichi, DBZ final bout, DBZ sagas and Budokai 1 exists? Kakarot doesn't even have much content, the story skips out on aspects like vegetas final flash.
