Writing about Dry Subjects

- There is nothing worse than putting yourself into the position of having to learn about something that doesn’t interest you, and that probably echoes from your schooldays, but there are ways to ease yourself into studying the craft without making it feel like studying at all. Personal experiences make writer’s writing better, and second-best to this is having the opportunity to draw on the memories and experiences of others to meet the criteria of what you are writing about.Whatever the subject of what could be termed a ‘dry story’, it requires structure, pacing, characterisation, rising and falling action, and absolutely no assumption on the part of the writer that readers won’t be able to relate to it.
Notes:
A traditionally published non-fiction book should be between 50,000 and 75,000 words. In its most basic form, a non-fiction book is structured in three parts, with a distinct beginning, middle, and an end, which can include characters to tell a story. An average non-fiction book has 10 to 20 chapters, but it varies from book to book and author to author, and the commissioning editor is the overall guide.
