I finally moved to Tokyo 🗼❤😊 after 4 years in South Korea and 1 year back in America, as a kid i lived in multiple foreign countries and moved my entire life 😊
As someone who is planning to move to Japan with my wife for the long term, this was video was rather tough to process despite it is absolutely necessary. Most people that cover these topics aren't so "blunt" as you've discussed them here. Still, I do believe this is the right choice for me and my partner - something that I felt deep down when we went to Japan for the first time a few months ago. It's definitely very much different visiting there versus moving there, of course. Really appreciate how you've tackled these very necessary topics to really, REALLY consider!
Thanks for taking all of it to heart! It's not the easiest thing for sure, but moving to Japan was a great decision for me and my partner, and I hope the same for you.
What I really like about this video is that among all of the many "things you should know before moving to Japan" videos I've watched on YT, three of these points are points I've never heard discussed in any of them. I've already long decided that moving to Japan is not for me, and yet there's still more points I hadn't even thought about. Thanks as always for sharing your experience!
New video about life in Japan that people might not know about? Nice! The fact that you're using the experiences you and your husband have had to hopefully help others is a great service! Has it truly been 7? Making me feel old over here! I know you miss your family (both human and furry) to be where you are, but be confident in knowing that what you're doing is the bravest thing I've ever seen anyone do! Also related to this video, there is a graphic novel called "Hanami- You, me, and 200 sq ft in Japan". It's about a Spanish couple that decide to move to Japan. ... and make a lot of mistakes. Hopefully you can find it! Love the video, can't wait for the next one!
Can’t believe it’s already been nearly 7 years since you guys moved over there. This actually opened up my eyes to what it might be like to move over there.
Really interesting video thanks for sharing, some very good points, like the one about the idea that most people want to work to tokyo but it's not really easy to work there.
@GingerGaiden yeah I would probably still like to live next to a decently sized city, just for the convenience of it , but. I would love to stay in a place that is pretty full of nature all around
Great points to consider. i am moving to Hokkaido in a few months. its the biggest life change for me so far. i'm excited but heartbroken as i am unable to bring my pet with me due to the extreme quarantine rules for pet import to japan :(
The scenery in camera for this was chef’s kiss. Her: for some people I’m the only person they know who’s lived in Japan. Me: It’s me, ✋, I’m some people. Also love the “just my opinion” disclaimer ahead of just straight dropping intelligent considerations to factor in when moving to another country. The opinion element is really just valid life experience. Worth watching for basically anyone looking at this kind of life change, more so the earlier in life you are. Well said. 👏👏👏
@@GingerGaiden no problem, the positive feedback is well deserved. Thanks for the compliment about my commenting - I sometimes wonder if I say too much online and try to be mindful of that, it’s nice to know that there are times it’s appreciated.
Damn you talked me out of it on the first point T-T very needed, but very sad. I love Japan and just wish cities in the US had better public transportation, increased walkability, and generally paid more attention to aesthetics.
Lots of steps, one being you need to have already lived in Japan for several years. You have to contribute to society in some way, and working from home doing a US job is not really the best way to prove that. Knowing Japanese helps, as there is an interview.
back in the day i used to want to go to japan i heard and found out looking that things over there are alot cooler than over here in the usa until my sister told me that most asian peoeple move out to japan to the usa because they want to have the freedom to have many kids they want i hope most say and my sister say that not they not allow to have many kids at all and also can't do certain things there either i also heard there are strength and weakness with every world regions which is true and that's why i change my mind because i don't wanna be certain way be someone that i'm not in japan it won't make me happy i rather stay in usa since i'm amercian i rather stay true to myself because i love doing what makes me happy being my real true self and it won't be hard to me to learn difference languages because i have learning disability i'm artistic

Moving to a foreign country is a HUGE step and I respect you so much for that. I'd love to visit one day. Thank you for sharing!
You should totally visit! Thank you so much for always watching.

Glad it was helpful! Good luck with the move!

Can't believe it myself! Thanks for watching!
Your videos have honestly helped me alot for my japanese language journey.😊 Would there be any japanese kanji dictionaries that you would recommended?
So happy to hear this!
TBH I usually just use Jisho . org
They have stoke order and everything!
Pet quarantines have changes a bit if you plan ahead so you can avoid quarantine. It does require a lot of vet visits and paperwork though.
Yea, I think I have heard of an easier process, but haven't seen any success stories recently ;-;

For sure! I think people learn that there's so much charm outside the big cities once they get out of them.

The public transportation is one of the major reason I continue to stay in Japan!
how do you apply for citizenship now cause i can work from home still have my american job but i just need to get citizenship
