- Hi friends! I hope you’ve been reading some good books 😊 I’m finishing up the Bridge Kingdom this week!
In this studio vlog I’ll be packing up my largest wholesale order yet ($635!), painting more bookmark flower pots, as well as having the preorder launch of my new studio bookmarks!
I also get into talking about the struggles of pricing your work as an artist and the difficulties of trying to put a price on your time spent on a design project.
Two important things I wanted to note!
*Preorders for my new studio bookmarks are still open and will close this Friday, May 12th at 11:59pm EST.*

*The first round of bookmark flower pots will be launching in my shop this Friday, May 12th at 7pm EST. There is a limited amount of these so I definitely recommend setting an alarm!

Question for q&a: As a smaller business owner with a chronic condition, how do you get health insurance? I want to start my own business and this scares me as i have several autoimmune conditions.
This is a great question!! I screenshot it and have it on my list to include in the video :)
On the coasters, the cork will actually work better AS the coaster because it will absorb, unlike the shiny side.
Your time and your art are MOST definitely worth whatever you wish to charge! :)

I actually haven’t carried them before! I got some samples but never added them, but I would like to add some in 2024!

It just dawned on me that you said you had Etsy orders and Shopify orders, so basically separate. You don’t have them linked? I am newer to starting to use Shopify, like really really brand new, and I thought they linked up to where they showed As the one shop. So they are completely separate shops?

I just love your style and aestetic of everything. My question is, what is the one piece of advice that you can give to a new starting and upcoming business owner? I am also going to be a small business owner just as a side hustle and I make notebooks, bookmarks, cornerbookmarks, keychains, pictures, jewelery, and pencil holders

Those are called bottom gusset tote bags and I agree that one is super cute- love the longer straps for the shoulder too😊 I also love the idea of mix and match coasters & the new notebook! How long do your paint pens last? You do a lot with them so just wondering if you have to replace them often!
Ahhh THANK YOU!! I had no idea what they were called 🤣 and the replacement notebooks that were misprinted got delivered today so I’ll have those all up soon 😍
And it depends! I have to replace black ones the most because I use those for the outlines and the other ones not as much 💕
I need a set of those coasters and the spiral notebook! When do you think they will be in the shop?
So this was just a sample order but I’ll actually have that bookish floral pattern notebook in my shop towards the end of may from my usual notebook supplier (I was testing this one out as it was a smaller size to fit in my sub box ☺️) but the coasters I’ll probably do a post on my insta to see what designs everyone would like then I can get a bunch for a launch!
To speed up your process, I suggest get a heat gun it will dry the paint faster allowing for less down time.
Thank you for the suggestion! I do have them by my heater when needed but the paints dry super fast usually and mostly the reason it takes me awhile is just because of the amount of detail work I do ☺️
Where do you get your blank sticker books?
I get them custom manufactured for me

Thank you for sharing so much of your process and your days with us! You are so talented and have such an uplifting spirit! I’m a semi-beginner artist on procreate but hoping to start my own Etsy shop soon so I love your drawing videos the most! I’m planning on doing POD stickers and mugs at first, then maybe magnets, bookmarks, notebooks, and really want to do repeating patterns for fabric. I’ve been dreaming of doing this for years but so stuck on starting. My question relates to procreate canvas settings: Do you do all your artwork in CMYK or RGB and do you have certain canvas sizes you’d recommend for different types of products? Thank you so much and can’t wait for your next video! Oh, and if you ever feel like doing a tutorial or slowish video on how you do repeating patterns (if you haven’t already) I would love to see it!
And if you felt comfortable sharing any POD companies that you really love for different products, but understandable if you want to keep at least some business details a secret 😂

I just finished watching the video and your tote bag is adorable!!! It is the perfect size, I don’t think you underpriced of the flower pots you took so much into making them and now in the future you could also raise them in price for all of your hard work! I also have a question, I wondering if you were going to make new notepads that are bigger in size, different designs, and also ones with more line work? I only ask since I have been getting into the habit of writing on notepads when I am writing fics and adore your artwork on them!! I would love them if you had a bigger size ❤
