The legroom is very bad for a full service carrier, but the apple pie on the first flight didn't look half bad. Swiss seems like just an ok airline, but one of the better ones in Europe.
Great review! I've just flown Malaysia Airlines B737 KUL to HKG and the legroom was the tightest I have experienced..

Great tripreport! Zurich airport looks really fancy (Better than many airports in the US haha) 15 minutes for security and check in? At JFK it took me 20 minutes at check in and 15 at security. Lucky you. Maybe European airports have better protocols for security? Stay safe :)
Dave yup don't hve to take out your shoes or Jean belts put your under 3 Oz liquid in a plastic bag it's legit for them
Yea that's true. I have been to Vienna before and I got through security extremely fast!
Dave well it is mostly done by a contractor which bid on a security offer and need to comply by the rules. By being not government controlled they can certainly improve time.
once I arrived at the airport (with the train) when the boarding already started and catchet the flight! Security Control in Vienna is really great! :D

Have you been to the Hannover trade fair? Apparently it's awesome. Lots of new technology exhibitions etc. Best to go for two days, because that's how long it would take to completely look around it.

RailJet (high speed train) is same price like S-Bahn (suburban train). Standard-Fare is 3,90 from anywhere in Vienna (including underground, tram, bus, S-Bahn, ...). In this case, this standard price of VOR (Verkehrsverbund Ost Region, Transport Association East Region) 3,90 is cheaper than the reduced "VorteilsCard"-Owner-Fare of ÖBB (Austrian Railways) 4,50, because of the short distance (ÖBB-Tickets are only valid on Austrian Railways (including s-bahn, but not underground, bus, tram, ...).
Only special airport busses and CAT, a special city airport train, are more expensive. But at the City Center CAT-Station, for many airlines, you can check-in and drop off your baggage to your flight destination.
I wrote this here, because so many people (also here in Austria) do not know, that there are no supplements on (high speed-)trains in Austria. In most austrian transport associations, (high speed-)trains can be used also with tickets for local transport, for example here in the region in and around Vienna.

I'm surprised they kept the screens down for takeoff and landing, at BA they always retract the screens. On the high density 320 have they put the toilets in the rear galley like Lufthansa have on their NEO aircraft? And are the rows not continuous as 36 seems a very high number, I thought it was 30 with 180 seats and 31 with 186.
Swiss has 30 rows in their A320 missing row's 13 and 18-24 ;)
So they can transport 180 passengers. The screen is down during landing for the connecting passengers so they find there connection gate easily ;)
I thought the closed the ife screens on taekoffs and landings .

As for me, I'm trying to board one of the first because I want to take the photos of the front view of cabin, what I can't do when it's already crowded. What about the legroom on the second flight?
Same tight as on the first one! We'll it depends if I'm traveling with lots of hand baggage I also try to be the first one! :D
I always have a backpack and a large camera bag
Somethimes there is not enough space in the overhead compartment, so it might be good to be first on the plane. On my Eurowings flight last week, passengers had to store their hand luggage suitcase under their seats. I am nearly 2m high, so that would be my nightmare :)
I store my bag on nearly every flight under my seat and Im about 185 cm tall.
Very nice trip coverage,but that legroom was really disappointing.I am 186 and my brother 193.Imagine us trying to fit in there.A real torture.I also saw in your laptop a scene from the bing bang theory if I am right.Very funny tv show.Great work mate.

From my experience, the majority of people who rush to be first want to make sure they can get their bags in the overhead bins. Then there is no risk of them having to go in the hold and be retrieved from the baggage carousel.
Yes that's true I also think that this persons don't want to collect them at the baggage belt.

Nice video! It looked a bit rough landing, did it feel like that :D. Even i was annoyed by the legrooms. Both planes were like for domestic flights.
Nope wasn't a very rough landing..had in the past way more had landings...the legroom is getting smaller and smaller. Well both planes are for European flights! ;)

I also want to fly from Zurich one time. Regarding the distance, it is the nearest international airport for me - but there is this stupid lake inbetween :D so it takes very long - driving to Munich via train is easier and faster. :)

Mostly the tickets with a layover are even slightly cheaper so perhaps you can fly from Munich to your next vacation via Zurich

I flew on swiss economy (the new one) to Moscow (3h 30 min flight) an thank god I paid 15 euro for an emergency row seat.

Simon Meyer in austria there is no supplement on any train. so you can use for example high speed trains, like railjet, with the same ticket you use for local transport, like s-bahn and tram. only cat, a special cityairporttrain, has different prices.
I know cat, i ride this in 2015. It was very nice, for me as a tourist.
Railjet to the airport is slightly more expensive than going to the Airport by s bahn but it's faster and easier for us to take the Railjet. ;)

MrWurschtl keine Ahnung von sowas, ich habe eine Bahn Card von der deutschen bahn, aber ich fliege meistens, weil es mit bahn Card häufig teurer ist, als zu fliegen.
