The police have no idea how drunk, high, or mentally ill the suspect is. 4. As you could see, he was violently resisting, the taser had little effect on him, and pepper spray does not work on everyone. 5. The narrator was exaggerating. That is nowhere near the entire (or even half) of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. 6. When someone is violently resisting, you use more officers so that the suspect can be taken into custody with the least amount of force (on the continuum), thus the least amount of injury (to the suspect) possible. It worked perfectly in this case. As you said, you couldn't do the job because your reaction would be excessive. These cops handled this just as they should have.
Notice how police are always near, and gang up on a single man, to protect their own, but if you call with a real emergency, it takes 15min to a half hour to respond
