Actually if you see the whole attack on the village. A lot of shinobi were ask where Naruto was. And lot of them said that even if they know. They wouldn't say anything because Naruto was a comrade. So a lot of people actually already respected him, before the attack happen.

Pains arc is one of the best.. Jiraiya dies, Naruto learns the truth, thst sadness, grief moments, Naruto learns more about J thoughts from his book, Sage Art, the battle, and the Ideological stance between Pain vis a vis Naruto( finding true meaning of Peace ) .. Really love this arc.

But as Shikaku said to Shikamaru Naruto is In a league of his own it is best we stay out of it. But the big thing is Sakura hugs him immediately after and thanks him. She is grateful. The whole damn village is. They all acknowledge Naruto after so long.

I'll be honest. After watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles, English dubbing doesn't even come close to the emotion behind the original dialogues.

I mean, they even show the flashbacks of all the significant events Naruto had a hand in and how the villagers thoughts gradually moved from hating and shunning Naruto, to acknowledgement, to acceptance, to concern for his well being, then finally relief and joyfulness that he’s alive. That whole sequence is what got me doing cry no jutsu and shit 😭
Genuinely one of the best arc n moment in naruto shippuden, in early naruto the best moment would be zabuza breaking down .touched m soul. N the shinobi war’s bear moment would be guy sensi’s 8 gate moment.
It still gives me goosebumps watching these moments..ofcouse nagato sacrificing , yahiko’d death, jairaiya’s death, itachi n countless moments makes this anime a legendary hell of a masterpiece .
