I have been watching for 3 evenings before my test, it helped me to memorise all the exits of a roundabout. I passed my test yesterday and i felt so mush confident, especially when you know what to expect behind the corner! Thanks a lot!

Good question, it does seem unusual. Watch it again and listen to the commentary. The same lane could go in either of two directions. Left would leave the roundabout towards Rainham or right, as I did, goes towards the superstore. A couple of flashes of the right indicator shows my intention without it looking like I’m changing lanes. This is a more an advanced driving level of indicator use and not essential for the standard driving test.

Good question. If it’s one way then no traffic will be heading towards us. If we are turning right at the end of a one way road it becomes essential to position on the right hand side. If we did not then a car following us and also turning right would pull up alongside us creating a dangerous situation. Plus by positioning correctly we enable full use of the road in busy situations.

I didn’t move to the left lane I simply stayed in the same lane and stayed on the roundabout. If you are taking an advanced test in Gillingham then this would be an expected way to use the indicators on this roundabout. For a regular driving test it would be less necessary to gain a pass.

I know this might be a stupid question but why do we drive on right side on a one way road?
Good question. If it’s one way then no traffic will be heading towards us.

*Are there any 20mile zone within typical test route?*
I think the only 20mph zone is on the Lower Rainham Rd. There are some harsh speed bumps there too.
