- Director Shoojit Sircar‘s new film October, which opened to rave reviews, saw actor Varun Dhawan step out of familiar territory. The actor, who is one of Hindi cinema’s most bankable stars, talks about becoming a newcomer for the film and how his father director David Dhawan reacted to it. “This is the most fun I’ve had - for 37 days I was flying. It was like a nasha. Yeh alag nasha tha. Here I was not thinking about the lines, it was just coming out of me. But it affected my personal life quite a bit. I came back very quiet,” he says.

It may not be that successful in terms of business... But October is his most successful film in my eyes...!!.
I am no die hard fan of Varun but It looks very motivating when someone is trying their best to reach their edges.
This guy is the cutest guy ever... I dont know why ppl judge him. I like his acting skills and I enjoy his movies. He seems very polite and brought up well. Best of luck Varun Dhawan!

Badlapur and October became one of my favourite movies. Both made me feel some raw emotion. His character driven roles are always amazing. Innocence in his eyes just makes you believe in him.
His fanbase will increase immensely after this film. I become a fan of him.
It was a time when SOTY released and everyone went mad for Varun, Alia and Siddharth but now after 6 years, we see two of them(leaving Sid because he is not a good actor)grow up so much in every aspect whether it is maturity, sincerity, humbleness or the kind of movies they have chosen to do. I feel so good that we have actors like Alia and Varun.
exactly but people always support sid because he is an outsider. but i think varun and Alia are far better actors than sid. but some people will never appreciate his talent. so sad
rajasree chakraborty they get good roles because of their connections, Sid does not have these connections so he cant even properly prove his acting. Even imtiaz admitted that he did not want to have Alia for highway as he wanted to have a more mature girl, but still he did....why??
sid is good looking but not upto mark in acting with varun.. varun improves his acting with each film except judwa 2 which other star kids fails to do ...
afgm1 BULLSHIT!!! Today if Alia and Varun have become so successful as an actor that's because they have worked so hard and they have great acting talent. If they weren't good as an actor then nobody would have even bothered to take them in films.
As far as Sid is concerned then he's continuously giving flops plus he isn't a good actor at all. He's only good for modelling shows
Mary Felix Siddharth's career is gone dude, FINISHED!!!! Nobody even asks him now and yes sid does have a good personality but if we consider face value then you know your answer. Also, the fact that he's 33 now and hasn't done any such noticeable or landmark film that people could remember unlike Alia and Varun who both have done such great roles in highly successful and critically acclaimed films like Udta Punjab, Highway, Badlapur and October.
People might say that he isn't one of the best actor and maybe he isn't yet considering his recent movies but he is one of the most down to earth and nice human being.
Tech Vortex he is not a good actor but he is improving his performance in October was comparitavly really good and yes he is obviously a good human being
What a wonderful interview . Varun Dhawan has grown leaps n bounds under Shoojit Sircar as an actor . This will benefit him immensely for his career .
He's maturing and it's a nice thing to see. I remember a video where him and Anushka where supposed to discuss Badlapur and NH1 with their respective directors and both of them just couldn't shut up, let other people talk and could only talk about themselves: their needs, theis processes, their whatever. And now here he is, talking more about his character than anything else. I'm proud of the professional he's turning into.
I'm HUGE fan of Vikrant Massey and Rajkumar Rao, and I didn't even like Varun before watching October. But after watching it, I really feel that he was absolutely perfect as Dan. Not because he's a great actor - though he did give a beautiful, restrained performance - but oddly, it's his lack of expressiveness which worked for this role. It added a touch of mystery as to what was going on inside Dan, while if it was Vikrant or Rajkumar in his place, I feel the character would have become too well-defined, because their faces are so expressive. Varun's casualness suited Dan perfectly.
Such a sensitive and touching film. I am a Shoojit Sircar fan and always loved Varun. But after #October, the love has multiplied manifolds. For people like Varun's school friends, I hope the urban audience promotes and praises Hindi cinema. People love Hindi movies across the world and we as Indians need to support it. Web series and films like #October restore our faith in the talent of Hindi cinema time and again.

Varun, really appreciate your love for acting.., you are at the top of the game in mainstream cinema, but still you choose movies like #Badlapur and #October just to challenge yourself as an actor.👏👏

Had to agree I never saw Varun doing a film like October when I first saw Student of the year trailers.
He and his craft has come a long way. I saw FC post about interview of varun releasing tomorrow (.i.e. today) and I saw the film today morning because I knew this was going to be a good one. I didn't saw varun dhawan anywhere in the film, it was always Dan for me. I had worked with varun for a project just after student of the year and he is still the same humble actor as he was back then. Thanks FC for the quick interview , looking forward to the shoojit da's interview and would be great if you guys bring Juhi as well on FC . :D

Honest interview but if you notice anupama did a great job on making varun at last that he "needed" to do the film in the last few minutes while at first he said he didn't felt the need rather want to do the flim. I hope you guys are getting what I am saying, sharp conversation skills ma'am. But varun bro u really shook me and my friends hearts in the theaters.
Loved the interview could see the effect of October on Varun and the best line was why should we limit ourselves as creative people 😘😘😄😄
AnupamaJi was clearly having fun chatting up Varun in this one and so were we.... every bit of this interview. Varun is an amalgam of paradoxes, which makes us look up to him as an actor all the more. I wish he always remains so fascinating to watch on screen as well as in real life (never falling into the egoistic-arrogant-safe zone that he himself highlights in this chat).

October was a beautiful movie and the Varun Dhawan was the perfect fit for the role(his evolution as a very good actor in a seriously good movie, very much unlike in his masala movies made me very happy)....i havent seen a more perfect pick for a character in a while in Hindi movie...every actor did a good job in the movie...the tone and the visuals of the movie and the subtle background score was really good....if this doesnt get a national award for cinematography, then i dont know which one will....the picturesque shots of the hills and the valleys made me gasp for a few minutes and i was struck by the notion "wow...India is indeed beautiful...thank you cinematographer for capturing it so stunningly and making an ordinary Indian see places in India which are as beautiful as some mountains in foreign countries."
Man i like this version. Please let this version stay and grow. That version is unbearable. Sorry.. but seriously.. Why be so artificial and adulterated when you can grow and experiment. Not many people get a safe and free space to find themselves.

I should not have watched this interview before watching movie. :/
i have seen the film and it was a great story but the film has been made with more greater flaws in telling it.. Things are pretty much not clear. The way he mentioned it above might could have been the story but its not the real visual treatment in the film.. its a fantastic film with so many editing flaws with Little unexplained and non related moments in between the whole. It was the great performance done by Dan that held the film from breaking down.

Sir, I have less knowledge about Bollywood, I simply love to see good character and performance of an artists, I haven't any personal likeness on Varun, I never seen a single movie of him, but I have seen the promotion of October and this interview, where Varun trying to perform well, why not we should well come a good try of an artist, every person tires to work better day by day, why not we should welcome a good try, an artist is also a person, same like us, let them work for better performance, we must encourage to every one when some one is trying to do good, thanks...

A well made and a brave film, October. Kudos to Juhi and Shoojit for doing this and Varun for choosing this project. But, frankly, in most scenes Varun's performance seemed rehearsed. His character Dan couldn't convince me at all of the reasons/ motivation behind his behavior. Nor i could feel his anger/sadness/ pain and joy at moments where he should have been displaying those emotions. He still has a long way to go.

Yo guys! Love the channel. To the guy mixing the audio, the levels between the two channels seem off, not sure if its the gain, or the different mic. But the Audio channel change between these comes across as quite apparent.
That said, I do remember how we began, so this is quite good, however, just thought of mentioning this anyway.
