    Great quote at the beginning on being afraid to make a mistake when you should be more afraid of boring your audience.
    Also, the Sydney Opera House indeed has a concert hall (Actually in the larger of the two buildings) and an opera theatre in the smaller one. It is indeed a cool place to play! Though the inside isn’t any cooler really than playing in Davies or Disney (which I have not done).

    An upright double bass should produce a fat plum sound, a deep resonant sound through its whole range. I don't like a whispy/scratchy/whiny sound in the higher range. Even the high notes should sound like a bass without sounding like it's straining. Mr. McDonald makes us think about how to make each note sound in its best voice.
