  • My seat rail jammed solid over the weekend, after VW wanting £60 to "assess" and then try to repair it I feared the final cost.
    This video shows you how to remove the side plastic trim, and if you cant get to all four floor bolts, the worst case scenario which I had was to cut the rivets to get to the locking mechanism.

      I had the same problem... and you know a garage will just want to replace everything. I know its an old post, but I hope you got it sorted.

    Nice one, just got the same issue on my Passat B6, hopefully things will be similar.From what i could see i only have 1 Bolt not 4 like in your movie..i will still try to reach with something and not to remove the chair

      Thank god! Lucky you. Me and my mrs shared the car so we constangtly moved the seat every day... which is probably why.

    I have the same problem. One you leaned the chair back and took off the plastic cover to the 4 pins, how did you solve the problem? What do you have to do? Remove and reset?

      One of my pins were simply jammed. The whole assembly was dry as a bone. I freed the offending pin and greased them all. The most difficult part was to access them by gently prying up the metal cover over the top of the pins enough to reach but not to damage the cover too much so it could be tapped / bent back down. Hope that helped.
