I was here in May for a week during the Catholic church's Holy Week :) I had the opportunity to stay in a recently re-inhabited village of about 19 people. I was on a team with Youth with a Mission and three of us (the guys on the team) stayed in the nearby village at a historic parish building, probably last cared for in the 1990s. It was an amazing experience and I hiked a nearby mountain top for an even better view. I love this island. Cannot recommend the entire island enough!

    Dear Mr Rick,
I Have been watching your well made videos of various glamorous places with great interest and enthusiasm since quite a long time.
I Have enjoyed each and every video of your, i vouch.
You are one of the internet angels who give we mere mortals a chance to explore places sitting in coziness of our drawing room with a mug of chilled beer enjoying HVAR.
    God bless you, sir

We were in Croatia last year and spent time both on Hvar and Brac (where my grandparents came from). Just gorgeous. I listen to my Klapa Split cd that I bought in Split all the time!

Great video! The song the klapa was singing is called "Oj ti dušo, duše moje" and the part that they were singing was "Oj ti dušo,duše moje. Čuvao te dobri Bog", meaning "Soul of my soul, the good Lord (God) keeps you." TH-cam is filled with different klapa versions of the same song if anyone is interested in hearing the song in full. :)

We have unfortunately experienced other things than those you are describing that we needed to cut our trip and go back home.

Little ADVICE for visiting Balkan countries (Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Slovenia..) - if you don’t leave 10% tip in restaurants - people there will feel very insult.

Colonel Mustard you're overdoing it, June and September are best if you want to avoid peak season and drunk Aussie's and Brit's. Either way I've been twice in July and still magnificent
