The Way you describe Joe Mads Style is definitly all the Reason he is my favourite Artist. The Mix of american Comics and eastern Manga, the Way how he sharply constructs the Face and how he goes about the Planes of the Face
Was super interesting to see you study his art!

Yeah i can definitely see some of his influence in your art, whether it's the faces or the way you do hair.

Love Joe Mad's style. His hair in particular - the ribbon-like appearance. I have tried to emulatee this in my art as I've always struggled with hair. Great work.

Kind of reminds me of the newer street fighter games. They both have that very chiseled/sculpted 3D look.

It would be amazing to see you study manga artists like boichi or murata. Their style is obviously manga, but a more realistic kind of drawing style. I feel that especially boichi is often in between of manga and western comics (look at "sun ken rock" or "origin" art for example)

    It’s a very interesting exercise.
What kind of effect do you feel that these style studies have had on your own work?

would like to know that aswell...i would say though that he already translated the style a bit into his own one

I'm not completely sure yet. A lot of the small stylistic choices that i've tried to replicate are definitely on my mind when i'm drawing faces now, so i do feel like i have a larger "bag of tricks" to pull from when drawing faces. But at the same time it also makes me think that i don't want to just use someone else's "tricks" or "gimmicks". So i think it's going to take time to assimilate all that new stuff into something that i can use more naturally.

BrotherBaston ok yeah. That makes sense. It’d be great to check back in a year or so and see how it’s worked its way into your artistic subconscious.
      Enjoying your videos immensely.
