This is my actual job. I have landed at Kiwirok, but the others in this video I don't know about. But these strips can have some very steep slope. One way in, one way out strips. There are no roads which means there are hundreds of airstrips in a very small space.

I'm from north Maluku, Indonesia and the airport is small the most common planes land are the A320, B737 and propeller planes

It's actually way cheaper to build a dangerous airstrips like these than building roads or any other type of connection infrastructure. That's how extreme it is in Papua.
That's needed for sending supplies, tourists, locals like miners that mainly working at Freeport

Well, no one wants to deliver pounds of supplies up such a steep ridge and it’s impossible to get a road up there, making an airport the only convenient way of getting supplies
Actually, there’re lots of christian missionary pilots fly in those incredible crazy airfield in Papua area. It’s really admirable.

As an Indonesian, I can confirm we have many interesting airports surrounded by many mountainous terrain. Especially in the Java island.
