Pam Landy is the best kind of adversary -- she starts out as an antagonist but is smart enough to realize that something isn't right and honest enough to pursue the trail wherever it leads
She's never the antagonist. The other guys are the antagonists. 'Bourne dead gives me nothing'.
@@orangewarm1 she is the antagonist but not the villain. Not every antagonist is a villain and vice versa.

Mr. Neski was marked for assassination by Treadstone, Bourne's off-the-books first assignment. Unfortunately, his wife was with him, Treadstone didnt know she'd be there. So Bourne made it look like a murder-suicide. One of the flashbacks was a photo of the Neski couple with a girl, their daughter. One of the reasons for taking out Neski was some sensitive files he had. Years later someone was selling the Neski files, and Abbot had the buyer and US agents killed and framed a deadman (the hit in India went down at the same time and Bourne was supposed to die). Bourne starts remembering the Neski job and remembers they had a daughter ("the Neski girl") and decides the least he could do was give her closure.
"The Bourne Supremacy" is my favorite, because the fight scene in the apartment is my favorite in the entire series. I also think his visit to the daughter is a touching piece of characterization, so rare in movies like this.
And it happens after the conclusion of the major action setpiece of the film. Meaning that is the actual finale. A more conventional movie would had that scene hsppen before the car chase. But not our Bourne movie.
Speaks to Bourne's character what he put himself through in Moscow to give the Neski daughter a little comfort, even if he caused her such grief to begin with.
I don't think it was for comfort I think it's simply to give her the truth she deserves knowing it in no can make up for what he's done he's doing the right thing by telling her and seeking redemption
And he nearly died for it.

The Bourne Ultimatum is the best in my opinion. It's the one I watch if I fancy watching one of the old Bourne movies again.
Ultimatum best for me. The Waterloo station set piece is one of the greatest scenes in modern action movies.

Yes, in Naples, he got caught on purpose. He knew people were after him and he knew whoever interrogated him would get a call... and then he'd have the phone number (Pam Landy's) and also could listen in on the next call.

I love all three movies but Identity (1st) is my fav, then Ultimatum (3rd) then this one. The first one is one of my all time top 10 movies. No. 4 (Legacy) with Jeremy Renner has grown on me over time too.

They are great films but the books are much more complex. David Webb originally becomes Jason Bourne to draw out and catch Carlos the Jackal. Highly recommended.
NEVER, I would Never wanted to be that Person to say, "The Book Was BETTER..." , but At Least Ppl would Stop saying that Jason Bourne was an Assassin.....

Honestly the greatest film of all times. The soundtrack is just something other worldly. Hopefully Bourne returns soon 😊
The first hits different because we're watching without knowing what it is to be a super soldier from the 70's so the second movie and even though we want that same high, we ride and die along side bourne because we super soldiers too and aint nothing catching us looking all surprised and shite, How many times can you reinvent the wheel. God damn!!! I think I'd make one hell of a field officer just for the way I'm thinking. lol '' Get some rest Devin. You look tired''
This is a good film but the 1st movie is a bit better overall imo. They did a good job extending the story but after the first movie it's really just about him being a cool super soldier assassin with a conscience.
It's not just about that. It's about Bourne finding redemption; taking down Treadstone and Blackbriar. If anything the first movie is more about what you said because we find out he is an elite assassin that couldn't kill Wombosi because of his conscience.
I'm really looking forward to you watching the Bourne Ultimatum, this is an amazing trilogy, I can't count how many times I've watched them all.
Watching a soldier react to a good fight scene sitting next to someone who has probably never been in a fight is so funny lmao

Everybody jumps at gunshots, even if they know they're coming. Even the person pulling the trigger jumps. Gunshots are that loud.
The guy in the Berlin flat you recognize was in the equalizer, maybe why he looks familiar
By far this movie is the best of the entire Jason Bourne saga tetralogy. That said, all movies are really good.

The 3rd one is the best one!
In a more conventional movie Pamela Landy would be the hero and Bourne a tragic wronged anti-hero playing the role of the antagonist while the villains are very sidestepped in the story. But this is a story told from the perspective of the anti-hero.

You will enjoy them. As is usual, they are better than the films. You won't recognize Supremacy and Ultimatum. Identity starts the same but after he leaves the boat and gets to Zurich, it's a nearly complete departure. I would recomend that you watch the films first, as you have already begun. Don't get me wrong. The films are excellent, paticularly #4, due, in part to the cinimatic firsts involved with the integration of Ultimatum into Legacy. But, the books are even better! Enjoy the ride!@@snackandreact
@@snackandreact Don't be surprised when you find out the books have almost nothing in common with the movies. They're definitely an enjoyable read, though.
There all assassins, CIA or Russian trained killers from birth. Bourne was the first to try to be "normal". The guy from tredstone is the one Equalizer guy.

Devon mentioned Bourne using the magazine as a weapon but did you know that a newspaper can be used as one?
If you fold one in the correct way, it can be very dangerous and cause a great deal of damage.
It was something some Soccer players here in the UK used to use when going to a game.
They could walk in with a newspaper which of course seems harmless then while at the game, fold it into the weapon to use when a fight might kick off.
I forget what it's called now, the weapon.
I love the Bourne movies although not so much the one that didn't have Matt Damon in it!
The Movie was OK but didn't feel like that same movie anymore.

I think because of it being a newspaper, it's easy to take in because no one suspects it.
I believe football ( Soccer ) grounds and security are aware of it now so I don't think people do it anymore.
There are though also keyrings that you can buy that have a ball made from woven plastic or something.
It just looks like a decoration but sometimes they can have a hard steel ball inside.
It can be swung to cause damage to another, even without the steel ball inside.
The first of a series is nearly always better, because it is novel. In the full Bourne series, I think that THE BOURNE LEGACY (#4) is by far the best, as I have said before.
Really? I thought it was the worst of the first 4. The last one, Bourne, should never have been made. I do wish they would continue making movies from the books even though it is a different author now. I liked #1 better also, but this one had the best lines (ie. It's easy, she standing right next to you). Although #3 has a good one like that also.
Why are people always obsessed with hierarchy, one doesn't have to be better than another. It's a story told in three parts, judge all three as one.

The bad guy that you said you never seen him play anything but a bad guy is exactly that, always a bad guy. He was the bad guy in the first Denzel Washington equalizer movie and he was the bad guy in the first Vin Diesel XXX action movie
