I honestly am not sure how this would go for all the PVP'ers. From my experience, they literally do not care whether you're in a clan anymore, they just want that PK number bigger on their file. I doubt this update will impact them that hard, though I could be very wrong. What could affect them really hard though is if not only infamy gain for hunting got nerfed by 75% , but also in general bounty/renown gain too. That would definitely be more up for contention. Again though, from my time playing the game for a couple hundred hours, I'm hunted solely for a bigger number in a single stat, no other reason. I hope Vetex cooks cuz this is starting to make me wanna get back into AO again
As long as they implement a system to keep clan names and stuff, I see no reason to wipe clans for this huge QoL change. To be completely honest, this games PvP community kind of deserve it. If you are actively going out of your way to hunt down innocent players with low PvP experience and garbage stats just trying to have fun in a PVE BASED GAME for a small number to go up then that's on you.
its the way vetex has his game structured, (maybe the clan system is rigid). there could be another way of adding the change without wiping. he just hasn't found yet.
@@Jonesloto They could save the clan names data somewhere else, wipe the clans, then reserving that name for the leader for 2-4 weeks after the update drops. could do that for the entire guild as well. Obviously I don't know what vetex's code looks like but if I needed to wipe my players data I would probably do something like that
9:05 Why Infamy and Galleons couldn't be saved on a separate exported data which could be then re-imported to the new system too? I don't really see a point for wiping these data. Yes my opinion is biased because I spent hundreds of hours getting Infamy for my clan, which I have 90k+ Infamy contribution in.
There could be changes to the way clans can obtain infamy to where the infamy that clans have now are way higher than they would be if those changes weren't there. (For example, hunting nerf) That being said, if the clan wipe is happening, might as well have a fresh start on infamy too for the empires update and never again have to reset it.

i kinda like this idea, i created my clan just to have a bank, which wouldnt be usefull anymore with clan building, rn i have 20k infamy and 75 islands claims. The main way to get infamy is to open sealed chests and sometimes kill bountyhunters ( i mostly getting 2v1 and 3v1 and still can win), as pve player i really like that idea, having all of ur slots in 1 clan sounds good for me, and with clan building came out i defenetly will start claim island and build on them just for fun :D
I don't really mind the nerfs to PVP clan infamy being nerfed as I already did a mix of PVE and PVP in order to gain clan infamy (with PVP making up a majority of the gains.) Though, I do not want to see infamy being too PVE oriented as Clans are a system that involves players and should encourage PVP. Having the primary infamy gain method be through PVE kind of just makes whichever clan has the most members always be at the top, as was seen early on. Which, in my opinion, would be kind of discouraging for smaller clans without an existing community.

The thing is that he *Doesn't* have to WIPE all clans to allow players to join on multiple slots, and my proof of that is that my Clan's Co-Leader is in my Clan (Mercury Rose) on 3 Slots, because we took advantage of a bug on Release, before Vetex made it so you can kick people who aren't in your server. If he wipes Clans _without warning_, we can lose our Money stored in the clans, and I'd also hate to lose the 350k Infamy my Clan put a lot of effort to gain. Also your Renown Wipe point holds no water. Renown is meant to be a _seasonal_ thing anyway, renown has been wiped before even without the exploiters.
I am against the infamy wipe since I am one of many people who put effort into gaining it... Getting thousands took a ton of time. It's not just half an hour of sitting and then a one-month break 💀... I kinda care about the clan I am in. (By the way, I didn't pvp for infamy since I started training when it was already broken, lol) However, I fully understand people who want to be in a clan on multiple files and I wish there was some other way to achieve that. Additionally, I feel like the opinion of people who earned maybe more than 3 thousand infamy should matter more than that of those who earned less than 1k despite being in a clan for a lot of time 💀

Man this update about to kill arcane odyssey. From what I get from what you saying their resetting clans so that you can join clans on any slot and get more infamy from other sources. The latter sounds nice but the first one so so brain dead. Just make some invite all you slots one by one. People aren't that lazy. Plus you may as well focus on one slot for a clan anyways. Pretty dumb part of the update in my opinion.
@@Jonesloto bc there was a bug that allowed the proposed feature to happen, so its pointless to wipe hard earned infamy all the way to 0 (will kill clans btw) just for a feature that CAN be added without wiping clan data, vetex just simply isn't smart enough to realize that. YTers needa stop glazing that man his code is overcomplicated and overall very messy, thats why theres so much lag in the game lol.

Vetex had issues with elysium private servers before, but he figured out how to add them so I think he can do the same for clans. Things such as infamy should be wiped however we should be able to do clan building from any clan level (you don't need infamy lock)
