My doctor consistently gave me the wrong medication and ill information. This year with a different setup I have only had four so far, But over a third of my life floats around and my head as broken glass. Although things are looking better I still don't feel like I should be here anymore. I believe my dude took The big L for all of us. I love you my Mac. This is beautiful, Mac will always and forever be my favorite artist. And I mean true artist, cuz his music is just so real and he just lays out how he feels so openly and I think that is an art these days, it’s hard to put your feelings out there, a lot of us me included bottle that shit up and it drives us crazy we all can learn a lot from Mac. He is one of the big reason I decided to get sober his music gets me through every day. I’m not gonna let the drugs take me like they took him, we gotta treat ourselves well and if we do that things do get better, I have almost a year sober today. Thanks for this.

I discovered your music video for Knock Knock on MTV in 2010 and I was instantly attracted to you.
I looked up everything you had on what limited resources there were on the internet back then and discovered K.I.D.S. Admittedly, I didn't come to truly appreciate that album until I was out of high school, but I listened to Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza until I could taste it.
When you dropped Blue Slide Park, Best Day Ever, and On and On Beyond in 2011. I was going into my Junior year of high school. I learned value in friendships but also in being alone. You helped me find something to smile about. I must have listened to Missed Calls 1000 times, reminding myself that it's okay to cry too.
In 2012 you released Macadellic and your song Loud became the number one reason to blow out the speakers in my friends cars. I'll never forget seeing you open with it at The Filmore on your GO:OD AM tour.
2013 was a dark year for both of us. Struggling to find who we were and trying out new identities. I went to college and you created Delusional Thomas, Watching Movies With The Sound Off, and The Space Migration Sessions. WMWTSO gave me my favorite song, Objects In The Mirror. Every time I think about your face, I think about your line, "People love you when they on your mind. A thought is loves currency." This is when I started to see you grow. And I wanted to grow with you.
In 2014 the darkness continued with your mixtape, Faces. For a lot of people, this is where their journey with you began. Your honesty about your struggles with expectations, oblivion, death, and substance abuse resonated with a lot of people, including me. I cried over your suffering and wanted to tell you how many people you were impacting.
GO:OD AM was released in 2015 and from the second I heard the alarm clock go off on track 2, Brand Name, I knew you were the only person on earth who knew exactly what I was feeling when I woke up for work on Monday morning. Mac, this album changed my life. The composition was flawless, your lyrics were poetry, and your execution was masterful. You got me through the hardest year of my life. I wanted to tell you when I met you. I wish I had told you when I met you.
In the nature of being in sync, when you released The Divine Feminine in 2016 I was also falling in love. I was wrapped in my own femininity and your album helped me feel at home in my own skin and proud to be a woman.
Now in 2018, with the heaviest heart, I wanna talk about Swimming. The darker Divine Feminine. An album about falling out of love, growing away from your friends, turning back to substances, and returning to music. I bought front row tickets to your upcoming show in Detroit. Obviously you can't know everyone so he can't care much about what he doesn't know about but I know he would be hurt to hear if any of his fans had passed especially how he did. But he sacrificed his sanity for all of his listeners, he's intimately talking to the listener in everyone of his songs. In this song specifically he's talking to everyone going through the pain and confusion he faced. His connection made me realize we are not that different no matter how hard we try to be. He was a poet who pushed his mind to extreme limits to retrieve the information gave to us.
