    Never knew that about erasable pens. Dont beat yourself up. We all would have tried the same thing. Its just one of those learning experiences. Now you taught us too.
    Love this video. Loved the sketches your daughter did. Those are a treasure for future years.
    What an excellent artist you are? Beautiful Cousin. So inspiring

    That's good to know. I used an erasable pen. After I'm done with this year's notes, I will probably put them in the microwave to erase the details. I personally don't like to go back and read what I've written, and I'm afraid to throw it away due to the details I have in it.

      I’m glad you found it valuable! I think having the option to write and erase it is also a great option. Thank you for being here ❤️

    The erasable pen part. I also learned that the hard way. When I was 13, we just started using pens in school for notes and everything so it was hard accepting mistakes and when I found an erasable pen I was so happy. Until I had to look back during exam season in summer (in Greece summers are too hot) only to realize all my notes were gone. I cannot even begin to describe the disbelief! Never again for me. Archival ink only from that point on..

      Yes exactly! Never realize the importance until all your words are missing 😭 I’m glad I’m not the only one although I’m sad that it happened to you! Thank you for being here 🩷

    Not the microwaaaaaaave!!!!!!!!!! Oh no, I’ve had fit of rages where journals go in the trash too though, I understand. Some of my favorite books I read this year were: Whip Smart by Melissa Febos, Written on the Body by Jeanette Winterson, and Evidence by Mary Oliver

      Me and the microwave have BEEF! oooh I will have to add those to my TBR, I have wanted to read Mary Oliver forever now but always get nervous to lol

    Thank you for sharing. I love seeing the progression, and honestly, I love the aesthetic far more as it becomes more of your own -- it's more unique and lovely and real. Authentic, really. And a lovely authenticity at that. Creating your own style is priceless. Love it. Thanks again for sharing.

      Thank you so much! I love seeing my "planner style" evolve and it is definitely something I wanted to happen authentically, so I am so thankful for your feedback! Thank you so much for being here

    Oh my gosh! The erasable pen thing! I didnt used to know that but when i found out i started noticing so many people online use erasable pens for scrapbooking and memory keeping and i want to shout from the rooftops about it. All it takes it leaving it in a hot car or attic and its gone! I think it just degrades over time too

    • @torionpaper

      Yes, I wish I would have known! But it all worked out for the best and I am super glad I made the pen transition early !

      if you put your planner in the freezer or the fridge for a few hours and the writing will reappear. I would put it in a zip lock bag 1st so it doesn't get wet

    Loved the flip through. My heart goes out to you re: losing all the writing when you tried to get the clear cover to fit. I use, as well as fountain pens, Pilot Frixion pens and I don't think it would have occured to me not to do that. I can well imagine how you felt. Wishing you a very happy, peaceful and kind 2024.

    lol 😂 laughing with you not at you about the friction pens…I did something similar with them…made something I wanted to laminate when I was homeschooling my daughter years ago…laminated it in a thermal laminator and when it came out everything was gone…being only one sheet thick when I put it in the freezer it sort of came back but was never the same… 😂

    This was so nice to watch, I love your journaling style of writing with your own art mixed in. I also like that you’re not bothered by the dated daily pages, and journal at your own pace. I’d like to do that more. Also, from your favorite books list: I loved Starling House too! I’m going to look up the others on your list, and check them out. I haven’t read Yellowface yet, but I read Babel this year and loved it.

    I love your channel so much! It's my first year using a cousin/hon (I've used hobonichi weeks and a6 before). And I'm not using it for planning but more for journaling, art, and writing down old memories with no obligation to keep up on what's going on around me. I'm thinking of it as a place to write about my interior life. I'm using a Weeks to plan, track books I'm reading, and also do a little memory keeping concerning events or my exterior life. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my vertical weeklies in my Hon since I'm not planning in it. Maybe I'll just journal there as well like you've done. Do you use the dailies for one kind of journaling and the vertical weeklies for another?

    • @torionpaper
      @torionpaper  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you so so much for being here! I love using the cousin for journaling and art and think it's the perfect book for those needs. You will have to let me know how it goes for you this year! When I journal in my weekly pages, I usually am writing about what is happening that day, comings and goings of the week and then my journaling in the back is for more introspective, deep thoughts I need to get out of my system. I like to mix it up though so depending on how I feel I tend to just write down whatever comes to mind!

    • @AnastasiaR
      @AnastasiaR 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@torionpaper that's exactly what I was thinking, because in my head I separate journaling about my thoughts and journaling about events in my life. I think I'll do that. I'll let you know how that works out. Thanks for sharing, as always!

    Hi, I will gladly geek out with you about books in the comments...
    Top reads for me in 2023 were the obligatory SJM multiverse, John Gwynne's "Shadow of the Gods" and "Hunger of the Gods," ML Wang's "Sword of Kaigen" (I see you read their other work, which is on my TBR for 2024!!!), and Rachel Gillig's "One Dark Window" in first place. :)
    Love your videos and hope you meet your goal of 20k subs sometime this year!!!
    I'm new to Hobonichi, but got in really deep and ordered a Cousin, Weeks, and a6 so I'll be coming to your page for some inspiration!!!

      OMG yay! Loooove that you are in Sarah-verse, I really want to read Sword of Kaigen I am glad you liked that one! I was blown away with her book and writing style so I will definitely have to bump that one up my list. One dark window was also one of my favs and I thought the sequel was even better!! You will have to let me know if you read it.
      I am so excited for you and your Hobonichi! You will have to let me know how it goes for you, thank you so much for being here!

      @@torionpaper Oh yes, definitely read Sword of Kaigen! It takes a little bit to get used to, but there is a glossary in the back (which I didn't know about at first lol) to help you with the terms.
      Def agree about the sequel. Elm is definitely a book boyfriend of mine now! Sad that the duology is over :(
      I'm staying consistent with journaling and having so much fun! Keep posting, plz
