I have many nice watches. I also own 4 Vostok Amphibias. These are one of the best watches on the market, and honestly aside from how amazingly retro they look even new, the crown and case design is legendary and very ingenious. I will proudly wear these watches even though I can afford to wear any watch I want. Love them. Great video.
Best watch I ever had and still wear it proudly. Modified mine to +3 per day, can't go better than that! For the price these watches are monsters. Just shows how everything else is so overpriced these days.
I have an 80s Amphibia, manual wind. The Crown is doing something weird; i screw it out to wind it and it goes straight to time set position. Its hard to get the setting to wind and slips back to time set or sometimes nothing. Can you tell what has happened? Great video btw. I love the восток!
This is a common defect of Amphibia, it often happens even when the watch is new. The crown is the weak point of this watch. Probably, but I'm not sure, the crown screwed into the winding stem has loosened a little. In my opinion you should change the complete part (winding stem and crown). Another hypothesis is that humidity has rusted these components. You need to open the case back and check this. I hope I have helped you. Good luck!
@@watchrestorationchannel1061 many thanks! I have a feeling the Crown/Stem is damaged or worn out. I'm trying to track down a replacement but I hear they are hard to find. Any suggestions for a source? Are all Amphibia Crown/Stem assemblies the same?
Wow you risked the polishing motor. If that ever grabs the case that will be nightmare. Itll never stop bouncing round your workshop lol. Id worry that It would leave lines. Id do by hand and leave the deeper scratches because its character.
I have a lot of difficulty installing Shock jewels if I am not very close to the movement with my head. But if I'm close to the movement, the camera does the video to my head. The best would be to have a digital microscope with the monitor then the video would be perfect and I would see everything from the monitor. No problem, next month I should buy a 12 megapixel microscope with monitor in order to have a perfect view, for me and for you who are watching the video.👍
@@watchrestorationchannel1061 thanks for replying, glad someone else has the same problems as me but I have found that Vostok shock jewels setup are the most challenging IMO compared to other movements.

Thank you, these are very robust watches, definitely worth the price.

Замечательная работа, хорошо сделано видео. У меня такие же часы, не разу не носил к мастеру. Теперь знаю какие они внутри. Спасибо.
Спасибо!!
Great video, thank you!
(Just a tip for the future: The Lift Angle for these movements is 42⁰ , not 52⁰ 👍)

You are right👍
Maravilloso trabajo, perfecta grabación, preciosos relojes Vostok. Yo tengo 7. Es mi pequeño tesoro. Un saludo desde España.
muchas gracias!!🤝
😊😊
Beautiful craftsmanship😍 and a great pleasure to watch. Thank you !
Hah, I own one just like this one and I also brushed all of the polished surfaces, exactly like this.
Отличная работа! Нужно было люм нанести и браслет поменять.
O, cool they have a zimovsky (ZIM) bracelet on them, ZIM is a separate watch brand - Pobeda (Victory), a rarity .
Great job, but 1 part is missing.
Under the cover should be the antimagnetic shield.
I have two Amfibias, one is anti-magnettic, the other isn't.
I have vintage societ automatic amphibia, which have antimagnetic caseback not a shield like hand wound version.
Muy bien hecho, ha sido muy útil para mí. Gracias.

This is a professional polishing machine, I tickled the engine :-)
beautiful machine
Are you located in the US? How much do you charge? I have an amphibia that stops at 3:00 almost all the time.
I live in Germany and I am not a professional watchmaker, I only repair my own watches.
That's cool, I still haven't mustard up enough guts to work on my own watch. Thank you for the videos.
You need a service in the USA it's 200-400 plus parts for the overhaul.
Chuck it in the bin and buy a steeldive.
270 case, it's nice!!!
I was looking forward to seeing you install the Shock jewels???? From my experience they are a pain...

Yes indeed these Shock jewels are difficult to assemble, but the Shock jewels in the next video are even worse.
@@watchrestorationchannel1061La grabación ha sido perfecta, señor. Le felicito.
Thank you for the video. Which tool do you use at 13:23?
It is a brass hand drill👍
@@watchrestorationchannel1061 ok thank you. If I understand well, you tighten the hand drill on the part and then simply pull?

Exactly👌
hi, What screwdriver are you using at 3:41 ? Thanks
It's an old model screwdriver.

4years. And hasn’t missed a beat. The son’s Omega sea master cost more to service.😂
The chewing gum smacks makes this unbearable
Yes you are right.
Don't record your chewing sounds, just a tip.
