I always say with a linear frame the character is "change a tire without a jack" strong.
The hoverboard is so friggin' cool. At least until powered armor gets released to make up for the huge MOV penalties of the heavier armors. As far as I can tell from reading the vehicle rules in Friday Night Firefight, a vehicle replaces your MOV (and gives you the highest initiative). And as long as your Athletics is > 9 you don't even need to roll to move, just to do fancy tricks.
Kinda ironic, you'd expect a bunch of yo-gangers to be the ones riding the hoverboards but instead it's heavily-armored solos who used MOV as their dump stat.
There's not too many Cyberpunk Red info channels out there, even less with concise and varied information.
Keep at it choom
Also please ask James for literally ANY Jojo Cyber/borgware
Great Video! I'm going to look up that Shuriken Grenade.
I think of Linear Frames as being too overt for day to day interactions.
I heard that Grafted Muscles can be stacked multiple times until Body 10, I'd stick with those. (I'd like to think that they wouldn't make you so huge that you'd stand out)
Think of it as a Brock Lesnar build
I played Russian roulette with the killchip 100 micro bomb, it was fun just looking at your player's expression
I just want to say that JonJon completely skipped all of the *best* vehicles. Get the book! :D
Also not a LF fan, would be more for something slimmer that isn't as "invovled"
A player of mine had a really funny idea im gonna try out when i get the eddies for it on my own character. Basically, if you get 2 grafts and a neurallink with 2 interface plugs, you can have 2 linear frames. My idea was to get a beta frame for the body score, then get an external frame like vermillion or the police one for the movement benefits.
Linear Frames sound cool but mechanically don’t thrill me
But 4d6 martial arts damage. Any martial artist/brawler should love linear frames
Also being "change a tire without a jack" strong. Lifting heavy things without help. Throwing huge items. If its integrated, more health.
I can appreciate the narrative elements for a LF-I think it just comes down to being a gunbunny at heart :p I’ll just need to build a Tekno-Hermit as a Heavy for my solo to square off against.
I agree that many of the LFs are just min/max tools. I am also largely not a fan.
