With the exception of a couple, I've kept all my tier 6 ships. They're still fun to play and occasionally challenging when up tiered or playing against other seal clubbers.
I wouldn't even call T6 sealclubbing anymore - mid-tier can have a pretty wide range from new players to experienced ones, plus there are quite a few premiums there that people will want to play. That's another reason why I'd recommend new players to take a break there, until they're comfortable with this tier.

@garbagecan6969 That may seem the case if you're new and still grinding the lines and using up your silver to purchase ships and upgrade blueprints. But once you get to a comfortable spot like tier 8 and you stay for a while, you'll see silver accumulate quickly. Once I got to my first 3 tier 8 ships, I stopped grinding for about half a year and just played tier 6 - 8 to accumulate resources. Tier 9 and 10 get exponentially more expensive, so you'll want to spend some time in those tiers to earn.
So far from playing the game I’ve been the most fond of the German and American lines! They are definitely the most forgiving lines especially for beginners like when I first started the game the Germans and Americans are what really got the ball rolling for me.
Well i wasnt sure how to play this game so i went for the American and japan tech tree, kind of got mixture feelings about it but its still fun to play👍
Terry, this was a spot on video! I started playing about June 2022, I jumped into the battleship line for America. Mainly because of the history and nostalgia. I rushed up to the Iowa and found that I was sorely lacking in the fundamentals and overall game play. Your video on destroyers gave me a new outlook for my faster pace gaming style. Because of your video's I now play tiers 4 to 8 and use tier 3 to reset my tactics and develop basic fundamentals, basically I use tier 3 to develop my understanding of the line and if I want to spend more going forward. Thank you soooo much for your videos, only wish I found them sooner before I started, would have saved me a lot of gold and frustration. Keep up the great work! Thank you 😊
I remember I literally started at the German cruiser line when I was a beginner and I gotta say that line was fun especially back then hipper is a beast at t8 since there is no other bbs than the American Japanese and German bbs was only there without those overpowered ships we have now.

Good points. I think it’s really important for newer players to not level up too quickly beyond levels 5-7. They need time to learn ship characteristics & preferences for sure, but they also need to develop higher level skills. Someone with level 4 skills won’t get much love from teammates in a level 8 game. Newer players also need to develop a cadre of captains with more advanced skills as well as resources like silver, blueprints, etc.
I love all the UK lines, I am currently at T7 on all of them. (Except Heavy Cruiser). I love the amount of torps the destroyers have and the armoured flight decks on the carriers. I also love setting fires with the Battleships, and the powerful, fast reloading guns on the light cruisers.
Torpedoes are for queers, I use battleships, so don't use Torpedoes, the Torpedoes in this game are grossly overpowered anyway, Torpedoes look like Dicks, so only queers use them
Yes your right it is the wall! I stoped most of my Lines at tier 8 tier because tier 9 is so damn expensive and on top of that down right difficult! I only went passed tier 8 a hand full if times for example like the Des Moines which is very worth the grind through tier 9 I absolutely love that ship!
The Fletcher (t9 American dd) has great guns especially if you put the reload mod in the equipment they become great gunboats We talking 2.5-3 second reload
I think the USN DDs have been powercrept a little, but the higher tiers can actually function pretty well as both gunboats and torp boats still, although there are better ones for each function individually.
Hi Terry been a while since I ran into you in game :( Nice video for newer people. When people ask me that question I typically just reply with, ”All of them.” Hahaha. That said, I have ground out nearly every line to tier nine or 10. Having experience and basically every ship is invaluable. Also I am not someone who spends money on experience points or silver and I don’t typically recommend that people do so as it is the experience that is valuable.
I'm nowhere near getting all ships, but I've at least tested a lot of them. I find it surprising how much experience counts, just knowing your and your opponent's capabilities
Great video Terry. When I started I picked the USN dds because I could choose my battles and smoke if I made a mistake. It was a good line for me and it helped me when I started learning other lines. Take Terry’s advice. Try a lot at low tier and see what you like.
I am likely a battleship main. I started Germany until i got Bismarck (Tier VIII), then US until i have the Iowa (Tier IX), Japan until i got Nagato (Tier VII) and UK until i have King George V (Tier VII).
If you’re a new player and starting out with the wee pish low tier ships, grind it out because it’s deffo worth it. Been playing for 1/2 years and finally so close to unlocking IOWA!!! I hated destroyers and cruisers just at the fact that two critical hits and you’re dead. Get the battleships!!!!! Nothing more satisfying than hitting a ship at max range or across the map (14km). There is campaign modes as well that give you a wee xp boost. Just always remember to compare each ship when deciding which routes to take
As a new player..maybe just answer our biggest question...pro and cons of each battleship line and how best to play each nation....I'm currently grinding British line..
Well.... I've been playing a lot of British Battleships recently and what I can say about them (which isn't much, really. But still worth mentioning) is that for the Pros, their HE Shells pack quite a punch. Even moreso than of other Nations, say Germany or America. For the Cons, they aren't as armored as Battleships of other Nations as stated in the video earlier, and the range of the secondary guns are not that great. You'd have to get up close and personal if you want to get a hit at an enemy ship. Which would be quite dangerous especially if the ship you're facing is a Destroyer, you're well within range of it's torpedoes. But overall, I think British Battleships are pretty solid. If you want to set people ablaze with Powerful HE Shells, then the British are for you.
I recall you saying that you were in mood for some cruiser gameplay. With that in mind I'd like to recommend you to try out Saint-Louis if you haven't done already. In my personal opinion is a secret gem. Against tier X is not that impressive but against VIII and IX ia quite a little murderous machine.

I remember when I finally got teir 7, it was the Gneisenau, and I finally felt like I moved up in the Game. Now skip about 2 years later, I rushed to the GK (Because of the Preußen) I felt like a Moved up again. Even though I had Yueyang, It felt like I actually achieved something. Currently Grinding to Kabrovosk, PC version had her replaced so now im stuck using Kiev for a while, just in case. Played for 4 years, only 2 teir 10s so far. I don't recommend Yueyang. Still need Daring, Halland, and Worcester.
☑️ I'm in the same boat(pun intended). I actually left the game entirely for 8 months, and I'm sorta returning to it now. I didn't concentrate on 1-3 lines and grind my way to tier 10. Instead, I played a LOT of different lines in every class, up to tier 6, 7 or 8, just to see if I liked the ships. I finally grinded the French battleship line through tier 10, and a few other lines through tier 9(British BB's, Japanese BB's, American BB's, Russian light cruisers). I was playing one night, and suffering more losses than wins. The final game was with 2 other friends, and I was using my new-ish Cleveland. We were beaten somewhat badly by a team with 3 top players from the top fleet in WOWSB, and it frustrated me enough that I stopped playing for 8 months! I'd reached a 66% win rate, and it annoyed me to be handily killed by a top player like that.
My experience with the gneisenau was awful, maybe it was the 380mm guns? The long hull? The torps? Idk man, I was intrigued by the GK line until that stoobid litel bæstard made me lose all fun, I mean what even is a damn BC doing on a BB line bruh.

Yes, I'll still do the Smolensk one, it's on my list :) I still enjoy Des Moines, but her range is pretty short, so you'll have to really watch your positioning. The damage output, though, is pretty drastic, and the AA is second to Worcester, but not by much. I quite enjoy my Hindenburg - she's great at long range, but can brawl pretty much anything that's without fire support and allows her to get into torpedo range.
Flooding - IJN CVs or EU DDs Gun hits - anything with rapid fire, IJN gunboat DDs, any kind of CL Torp hits - CV or DD Dive bombers -USN or RN CV, Indomitable if you have AA kills - USN CL or CA, German CV, Dutch cruiser, EU DD, anything with good AA
I know - it's pretty massive. I'm so used to it, I don't even think about it anymore, but I can imagine how a new player would feel looking at those...
Its also amazing what massiv amount of knowledge is available by now for people here on youtube, all kinds of reviews guides and replays .. when we started we didnt even know if armor angle helps or not and good slice of this is thanks to you sir 🫡
When I started playin I was only to de German BBs until I realized that the accuracy was really bad at large range so I change to Italian bb and Andrea doria to this day is my favorite ship, just last week got the vittorio venetto gonna keep grinding
And no one teaches you that having a captain is really important if you wanna have a chance to win in higher tiers because there is a tons of premium ships
I'm a new player but i have played other ship games like modern warships using a yamato so i chose Japanese line of battleships. I'm playing with new ppl too ig so i try to provide my heavy artillery support but others just run off far away and I'm too slow to go to them and on the other hand the enemy coming pairs and destroying me. I'm getting 2 to 4 kills per match but the match ends up being a loss. . Ok I'll cheak out the German line of bb, probably will need stronger armor.
I am currently going down the Italian BB line for the Columbo. Am on the Fransesco currently. What other lines should I go down as side ships, to play if I get bored in the Fransesco

That's not really an easy question to answer. Different ships are good in different ways, and a player using a ship that doesn't match their style is not going to do well, regardless of how good that ship is. So maybe I'll answer that in terms of "potential", and limit it to T10. Probably one of the best battleships out there right now is the St. Vincent, although she's a battlecruiser. Very consistent ship with huge damage potential, as long as you can compensate for the lack of armour. Best light cruisers I'd say Mino and Jinan, both can do very well in terms of damage output. Destroyers, hard to say. Shima is still up there, and a lot of people will point to Daring as the best. I find that a lot of DD lines have their sweet spots in T8, and can drop off in 9 and 10.

I’m still confused on when you say battlecruiser but it’s classified as a battleship. How would I know based on looking at the stats since we can’t look at the armor of the ship in the game?
I went up the USN BB line first at the beginning. All around good line despite the slower lower tiers. Then I did a little bit of everything and I don't care for the CV play unless it's a CL with a deck on it's back. I also love CA, CL and most DDs that do it all and stealt DDs.

Better yet, don’t even waste your time on this game and especially not your money. There is so much cheating in this game that it’s laughable at this point. Every other game is loaded up w/ stooge accounts that throw games intentionally. The big fleets get on discord and coordinate taking turns using stooge accounts. They countdown and enter the cue at the same time. You’ll end up with stooge accounts on your team that sail straight forward to get sunk. This mostly happens in events but it’s pretty common in random. That’s only part of it, don’t even get me started about jail broken phones with apps that manipulate time stamps.

the thing about playing tiers higher than 7 is that you wont make as much money unless you have perfect games every time

I noticed that WG has not released any info tabs at the start of lines. They were actually helpful for finding playstyle.

World of Warships on PC there was a purpose of some sort to keep older ships. Is there any reason to keep all or most ships on this one?

What would you say is the best battleship, light cruiser, heavy cruiser, destroyer? In the game right now
That's not really an easy question to answer. Different ships are good in different ways, and a player using a ship that doesn't match their style is not going to do well, regardless of how good that ship is.
So maybe I'll answer that in terms of "potential", and limit it to T10. Probably one of the best battleships out there right now is the St. Vincent, although she's a battlecruiser. Very consistent ship with huge damage potential, as long as you can compensate for the lack of armour.
Best light cruisers I'd say Mino and Jinan, both can do very well in terms of damage output.
Destroyers, hard to say. Shima is still up there, and a lot of people will point to Daring as the best. I find that a lot of DD lines have their sweet spots in T8, and can drop off in 9 and 10.
Heavy cruiser I can actually answer, for me, it's Des Moines and Hindenburg.

I’m still confused on when you say battlecruiser but it’s classified as a battleship. How would I know based on looking at the stats since we can’t look at the armor of the ship in the game?

no submarines on Blitz, just on PC
When you play cv i recomment play german CV becuse you need less blueprint into tier t10 but you need more XP to get new ship on that line
I went up the USN BB line first at the beginning. All around good line despite the slower lower tiers. Then I did a little bit of everything and I don't care for the CV play unless it's a CL with a deck on it's back. I also love CA, CL and most DDs that do it all and stealt DDs.

Better yet, don’t even waste your time on this game and especially not your money. There is so much cheating in this game that it’s laughable at this point. Every other game is loaded up w/ stooge accounts that throw games intentionally. The big fleets get on discord and coordinate taking turns using stooge accounts. They countdown and enter the cue at the same time.
You’ll end up with stooge accounts on your team that sail straight forward to get sunk. This mostly happens in events but it’s pretty common in random. That’s only part of it, don’t even get me started about jail broken phones with apps that manipulate time stamps.
Much better wasting time watching videos on games you don't like and then commenting on them....
@@albertaaardvark966 Please forgive me for bringing up a negative aspect of this game. You won’t hear Terry mention stuff like this because he’s essentially a premium ship salesman for Wargaming. By all means, go right ahead and be enthusiastic about grinding your way up the tech trees. You’ll experience what I’m talking about soon enough.

Progression speed you'd be dead by the time you get to tier X, if you started playing when you were born
I recall you saying that you were in mood for some cruiser gameplay. With that in mind I'd like to recommend you to try out Saint-Louis if you haven't done already. In my personal opinion is a secret gem. Against tier X is not that impressive but against VIII and IX ia quite a little murderous machine.
