I have a couple of shoulders left in the freezer. I think this is a go for Super Bowl weekend! Another thing we like to do is add a couple of medium chopped up Vidalia onions, some baby carrots and chopped up potatoes, and 3 or 4 celery stalks about 3 hours or so before we want to eat. Makes a great stew.

Does it need to cooked low and slow or is that just a person preference/according to the recipe?

Put that deer shank in the slow cooker next time, or slice it and make osso bucco! Lots of good meat there.

When you reheat the leftovers just fry it up in a cast iron pan, get it crispy and make shredded venison tacos.

Sounds good! I’ll have to try that! We made quesadillas with it the other night and they were delicious!

Did you add water? I know if you are doing a chuck roast this way, you don’t have to add water. Thanks in advance!
