When i took the pills and woke up alive with my boyfriend, best friend, sisters and parents there I realized that this is not how my life is ending. All of them was there and was scared for my life. They couldn't see my heart beats. I was practically dead but I survived. A year later and 6 months in therapy (DBT) I feel so much better. I survived and you will too! Seek help, reach out, don't hurt yourself and you are not alone.
So love Mr. Gunn and I so love that his emotional and personal message was done in front of what appears to be an antique Chinese screen--he's the best!

Tim Gunn should do an audiobook, his voice is too good. I'd listen to a book on how cardboard was made if he read it to me.

Well said. The IT GETS BETTER campaign is important and I thank Tim for lending his support. I don't think he fully understands how his old fashioned ideas are part of the problem but his heart is in the right place here. I had to wear a dress to school and hated it.

You were Outstandingly Intangible to me before reading your story. Im surprised we shared the embattlement figuring out who I was. It was difficult feeling any self worth. Catholic Raised, God was not on our side. I say ours because My Brother who I looked up to for his many Successes gave me substance for my self to work and educate myself. But my Brother turned to drugs. His showing in his teens alcohol and later heavy drug use, losing everything he worked hard and graduating college. I strived to follow by his examples turned to disappoint and distanced me and my family with "Tuff Love" I couldn't figure why my Brother self destruction path at all. Addiction?! I couldn't comprehend it. My Brother ended up dying alone from AIDS. Sharing needles. His generation was the beginning of the Epidemic. Years later at a Gay club, by chance I saw a Cousin High on "Truth Syrum" Not sure what but he was my Brother's age. Very new to the Scene myself, My Cousin who never looked at me growing up suprisingly began pouring out his sadness of the loss of my Brother who my Cousin and my Brother's lots of time's hanginging out together, going to Gay Events close to Studio One West Coast style. clearly getting doped up together sharing and defying God and Str8 life. My Cousin's Outing my Brother's Gay lifestyle Suffering similar fears of Catholicism, God, And Sheer Hate of Gays my Family shamed my Brother would share with my Cousin were now being shared with me for the first time. It shocked me at first but I'd just listened and nodded pretended I knew my Brother was like me Gay. I consoled my Cousins full confession to how much my Cousin missed my Brother... ending with a hug as he staggered away. "My older Brother was Gay?" Excited not being alone. But mad tha Brother wasn't around to support me. Still though repeating to this day I don't feel alone as much. My Cousin sharing with me my Brother's own struggles was a Blessing. My Brothers addiction to self-medicate, getting through a lot of pain he endured at his own awakening gave me clarity. My Brother: College Educated, Pilot, Jet Mechanic for the Navy. Made me so very proud of him again. Ten fold. Thanks for sharing. With Love. J.
