I've heard about Magnetotactic b. last Saturday on a Live session with MicrobeHunter . Somebody ask a question about this critter. And I did not know it existed! So I ask wikipedia, Chat GPT, Google and TH-cam about it! Not a lot of info about this awesome thing! Thank you for your awesome video. I instantly subscribed! Alex from Montréal
37:40 I have to disagree (or I don't understand what you say?)... I have a *decent/cheap microscope and I can see bacteria. If they don't move, in a mud sample, it might be clay particle. However, for motile bacteria; it's obvious that this is not Brownian motion. Magnetotactic are motile bacteria, so a basic compound microscope can see them. Sure, we won't be able to do proper identification, but at least, we can get step 1 cover. * I have a SWIFT380B compound microscope (new open box, 150$ US or 203$ Canadian, shipping next day from SWIFT seller on Amazon).
Fascinating guest and topic! Thanks for your work, Mark. Your enthusiasm is contagious.
