I think a Popol has always been a really good hero though.
His poke is annoying and he can outdamage you fairly quickly since it's basically a 2 v 1. Team fights are 6v5s, you can't exactly 'counter' him per se, you just have to try and burst him down. Which I don't think is very balanced.
IDK the actual reason, but everytime I am using Ruby always bully him. Maybe bcoz Ruby is bane of wolf/dog type hero

Jokes aside I can kill him 1v1 w/o ambush bcos Ruby can outheal the damage, short duration CD, good tanking ability, and many CC skill. eh wait good mobility from Ruby's passive also help to chase him everytime he tried to CC
@@alphaepsilon1003 a good popol user will always stay just at the edge of kupa's attack range, and let the dog do the damage whilst keeping a safe distance from far away.
I main gusion and i always use 2nd skill to 3rd skill right onto popols face and burst him down easily

The very first marksman that i mastered ever since i started playing. I mastered him first before miya and layla. I had to stop using him in the past few season because he's more famous as a tank but after they changed where to base kupa's hp, i started using him again😅.

I love using slightly meta heroes that aren't noticed that much lol, like Karrie, her recent buff made her a beast and with inspire being really popular, it's so nice using her
Playing underrated heroes are great because most of the time the enemies won't know how to counter them

i played popol before all the buffs, he is a bad mm, ppl use him as tank/support

I've actually using them for quiet a lot, because I'm this type of Poke hero user, that's why I use them a lot. Because you have a lot of CC, capable of dealing damage while being not to close to them, you can also harass them a lot and the best part is I can literally take down any objective so fast.
What is poke?
@@human-uj6sw It's like damaging an enemy bit by bit till you can ensure that you can kill the enemy.
@@human-uj6sw as said above it's the opposite of burst dmg. Burst is doing huge dmg in a small time frame. While poke is just chipping away the HP slowly and most likely from a safe distance. Most long range heroes do poke dmg a lot.

yeah, any marksman with long poke range skill and decent early game damage are meta worthy in gold lane but alas only 4 marksman has that mechanic (PnK, Beatrix, Clint, and Brody).

Wtf is this. I played this game after 1 year gap and found my team mm being harassed beatrix and clint and I myself found popol is a great counter 5 months ago. Now I am seeing this in youtube now.

Yes elgin, you didnt cover the recent update in the advance server. The emote damage is nerfed, as well as recall because they were too op. Trashtalk though is buffed, it now has a cooldown of 0.01 nanoseconds per game that you can spam it anytime. Its damage is also increased by 9999999 bazillion at all levels with 40 trillion physical penetration that will surely penetrate your heart because she never loved you ,she never did.
The recall button needs a buff. However they’ll need to nerd you after you look at my channel look at my tips and tricks to help you rank up

I use popol and kupa everytime we my team doesn't take tank. Having kupa is best thing as I can doge flameshots and other damage easily.

Popol and Kupa is one of the best counters against Clint because u force Clint's first skill to spread to kupa and u also have many CC but Clint only has 1 Mobility skill

This is the only marksman that I hate Laning against when using Lesley. And the dog can even block bullets of Lesley's Ult.
Absolutely, I was searching for this comment...I have no issue against any other mm in laning when using lesley..However, this doggie-duo is a pain
What i like about improved popol is now kupa inherit 100% of popol aspd.. And if you notice in several update before popol only recieve 80% aspd from item and emblem but now is 100% so dhs is good for popol now unlike before you use bod and endless for burst an enemy..

I tried playing advanced server today and got surprised by the notifications and remembered elgin's notifications. The wtf and sana all notification is lit
The one thing i always love abt Popol and Kupa is that he has cc skill, free shield, and even buff skill. In fact, he is a complete package. Whether he's entering the meta as MM or Tank/Support, he always able to shine properly.
I've tried to use Popol as tank after his buff (cuz I was forced to lol) and he is surprisingly still good tho (even tho not as good as before when he was meta as tank/support). His cc skill helped a lot as support. Use properly, he is like lite version of Selena (imo).
However, since the buff, he shines more as mm cuz he can poke the enemy since early game thus giving them a hard time. Moreover, once you had BoD and WT (or DHS), Popol can easily mely down the enemy's mm or mage hence giving the enemy huge setback.
Now I appreciate that Elgin applied his made-up notifications in this gameplay.

I'm main Popol best counter to Popol was claude. Claude can kill Kuppa very fast in mid to late game
Melisa will be his biggest counter, she deals increased damage to summon units and her skill2 has multi targeting
true, i main popol and having claude as a gold laner is a headache
And a good lance player is a head ache...can just do extreme damage, kill doggy and kill.

I think lancelot is having the distorted character glitch. The distorted character glitch Is when a character so fuck into a million stretch pixels and if he/she gets near you, you’ll lag to hell.
I had that encounter with nana and i always fear nana after that.

I usually use Popol and Kupa to counter early game marksmen like Beatrix and Clint. With this adjustment, it's easier to go toe-to-toe with them and much safer from ganking with his trap. Nice vid, Elgin!

I'm a Popol and Kupa user, I don't use any boots and as much as possible I extract gold from early turret shield. He's squishy but his revamp help him - we can now activate skill 2 even if he's affected with any cc. Only his dmg is reduced thnx moonton :<

The first time popol and kupa came out I bought him already when I was in elite rank thanks to him I reached mythic in a few weeks

I always pick it when i have the chance and hate it when enemy pick it, because it can fight back meta mm right now (brody, beatrix, clint) and if they over confidence, you can easily kill them,and not to mention, he's always the first one who get to destroy the turret in early game and get all turret shield gold which give your team huge advantage

His skill set is really meta he can also be used as tank or support sometime, and for a marksman he is one of those who have a high survivability

Tip: When using your ult, what I do is I use my first skill on an enemy and in that time that kupa is running towards the enemy I press my ult. It saves a-lot of time before my ult runs out.

I played popol kupa recently and its the best there is .
I played him with the support emblem so my mana wont be depleted faster -- reason bcoz that mostly popol damage is from the first skill to poke n i try to get to level 4 earlier for the ultimate
And for my skills i will always use aegis -- i know usually player mostly use flicker,i used aegis bcoz the shield can be stacked with popol 2nd skill which also develops a shield -- I DO NOT LIE TO U THAT THIS STUFF SAVED MY LIFE MULTIPLE TIMES -- and for bonus they will be shocked bcoz of the tankiness u have . N after that counter with your ult and first skill then aim for the kill
Always prioritize windtalker as the first core item . Usually 2nd item for BOD(damage from first skill will lower enemy health to half n BOD will increase the damage for enemy health below 50%) . THAT'S WILL BE ENOUGH FOR ANY PICKOFF FOR EARLY TO MID GAME
Defense
The other item i usually makes bruteforce plate(forget the name,it will increase my health and my movement speed if i do basic attack or skills) to outrun or chase some enemy
Dominance ice also good for enemy with a lot of lifesteal -- depends on the enemy and their build
Offense
I rarely focused on offense after having BOD and windtalker but for popol n kupa :
Demon hunter sword
This is the item for damage and speed that goes well with popol -- the ult for popol increases attack speed . N with BOD and windtalker it just works really well
Finally
Unorthodox build
Fleeting time -- i only use this if i prioritize my ult first skill bcoz popol ult first skill stuns so long n hurts so much n if it killss . It shortens your ult duration -- bonus : it will fully generates kupa health fully if ult is use . Mostly the DOG WILL SURVIVE ( i use this for fun but sometime i use it in ranked )
Wind of nature
Mainly used for assasins -- used active skill when skilss are used , also useful for one on one with mm
Rose gold meteor
For survivability of popol -- remember about the shield yeahhh same concept but bonus RGM have 40s shield cooldown
So thats it . My build depends on the enemy
My always core item is
Boots - depends on enemy on my lane
Windtalker(core)
Blade of despair(core)
Bruteforce plate(my personal core,can be abandon if unnecessary)
RGM(for shield)
Last item according to enemy -- mainly i use demon hunter sword
Support emblem -- with skills that shorten my skills cooldown and revival cooldown -- i used this cause it shorten my aegis cd

In my opinion damage build is better than attack speed build. So I would change windtalker and dhs to heptaseas and malefic roar.

One thing I like about them is that they can still melt tanky heroes due to the double proc of dhs combine with a right build

Always remember MM at the back of clash in late game is GG for enemy
It will be better if you put some tank build in Popol cause he's squishy like the other marksmen especially if the enemy heroes are deadly like Clint Aldous Beatrix Yin Fanny Granger Gusion Karina Hayabusa these one hit heroes can clap him in one blink so i think it would be great if you mix some tank items.
