My Mom was diagnosed with lung cancer, passing away in 1999. She was 72. My Dad took excellent care of her. He passed in 2021 at the age of 99. I was his caregiver for over 8 years. They were exceptional parents. I think of them everyday.

How very wonderful for all of you. Not everyone has that, my feeling is that while it can be difficult to be a caregiver to someone it is also very rewarding, even a gift at times when it is a loved one. They say the love you give is equal to the love you receive, while I don't believe that is always or even most of the time true I'm glad that in your case it is.

I don't think he's ever gotten over his wife's dead. Many men get very lonely when their wife die because she maintained the social side. Remembered birthdays, Christmas.. Men don't talk about loneliness like women and unfortunately many commit suicide. I hope the family will support him. Help him move on.

All right, I have to be honest: the tragic backstories of the patients are getting to be too much. In past seasons, it was every once in a while, but now, every patient has some terrible story about losing a family member, and it gets dull and repetitive. How does the show find these people? "Hey, I'm the producer, has anyone here lost a family member in a tragic accident or illness?". The medical drama and the present families should be enough to carry the show. These tragic stories are just too much at this point.
