I was introduced to Fernando Ortega before I surrendered to Jesus Christ by a dear friend who’s mother I cared for the last 18 months of her life. I was having a particularly bad morning at work and I had lost sleep. My friend played Sleepless Night for me, picked my feet up in her recliner and made me breakfast. She cared for me when I was supposed to be caring for her mom. She showed me kindness when I needed it the most. Her moms number one comfort and joy in life was listening to Fernando every single day until she passed onto heaven. It was such a joy and comfort. I continue to listen everyday to his meaningful music and beautiful voice. Also, I’m from New Mexico too!!! God bless Fernando.

Praise God! It is the annointing that ministers to us. Not all claiming to be Christian musicians have that annointing. It is received only through consecration, prayer, fully committing oneself to the Lord and allowing Him to minister through you. All true believers in Christ have giftings and talents to be used for His glory. Not all are called to ministrr in music. But whatever we do for the Lord, He will bless, if we are truly comitted to Him.

I had the privilege of seeing an intimate performance like this one. He did a fundraiser event at Christ's Kitchen here in Spokane, WA. Me and my kids sat in the 2nd row and were able to sing together all of our favorites right along with him. It truly was the thrill of a lifetime for us. My kids have grown up listening to so many of these songs. It was a truly magical night, and I remember being on cloud 9 in the days following that concert.
I admit i had never heard of Fernando until i took a chance on a used CD in a thrift store, and i was blessed more than i had expected. Thanks to brother Ortega, very beautiful and very heart touching. I found his The Return album, with Mi Abuelito being one of my favorites...
He used to sing at our church. Great sense of humor. Loved it when he sang the old Hymns that are legendary. His voice brings you to the throne room of God. So talented.

Unbeknownst to us, a huge storm was about to blow in... just 2 weeks after I got there, he lost his job of 20 years, just 2 months prior to his retirement, and then news came that his wife's mother was going to pass away... I looked up, and went okay now I get it 🙌🏼 I, being a Jesus Freak 🥰 was the ⚓in their storm... One day my brother came out of the hall holding his phone, completely sobbing... he came and sat next to me and turned it up, and it was Fernando singing "in the morning when I rise, give me Jesus"... he said that, out of nowhere it just popped up on his phone! 🙌🏼♥️🙌🏼 We all survived the Storm, their marriage and home in tact, and both my sister in law and brother, when most would begin, drowning their sorrows, they both quite drinking! 🙌🏼♥️🙌🏼 How Great and FAITHFUL is our God! 🙌🏼♥️🙌🏼 ✝️🛐 Thank you Fernando for giving your life as a gift to us, In Jesus Name, may the LORD Bless and Keep you ♥️

10 years ago I arranged Jesus, King of Angels and Joy to the World into a wedding processional for my daughters best friend. She married in a large church and I played the piano and took my best student to sit at the organ and play the chimes at the end of Joy to the World. I believe that Jesus, King of Angels came down that day and blessed all of us. It was the most amazing gift from the Father. Blessings on you Fernando for writing that song of worship. (36:19)

I suffered from anxiety for many years. I can relate. And I, like you, eventually found God's healing.
I love the personal stories he shares. Saw him perform many years ago and he's returning to my area later this year and I hope to get tickets and see him again. It's beyond puzzling how anybody could give this video a thumb's down. Shame on them.

This brought back so many memories!! I love this man's ministry (and voice) and had several of his CD's. I even got to go to one of his concerts. So good to know the stories behind some of my favorite songs. I wish I could ask about other songs he didn't get to sing and I love. God bless you, Fernando Ortega!

I really enjoyed this concert. Many years ago I was watching a Billy Graham crusade. A man began to sing and my dad and I loved this voice. It was Fernando Ortega. At my burial one day they will hear him sing" Give Me Jesus"...my favorite song. ❤➕ ❤
Praise God I found Fernando Ortego here on TH-cam. I attended some of his living room concerts when I lived in San Diego county in the late 1980s to early 2000s.
