I grew up in a neighborhood of Italians and Portuguese. My dream was to marry into an Italian family. And at age 29 my dreams finally came true. I get access to the best food and have amazing in-laws as family.
Your Nonna is so sweet and a great cook. ❤ My grandma was born in the early 20s and lived until 98. She came to live with my dad and I when I was 11 (my grandad passed when I was a baby so my grandma lived alone) back in the early 2000’s. She was the boss of the house, always making sure I watched her carefully in the kitchen whilst cooking(one of her favourite things) but would never let me get involved in anything she was cooking until she said so. She also took over the housework; so anything from vacuuming to dusting she would do and I would just have to “watch and learn” 😆 my dad used to ask how I’d learn anything if I didn’t try doing the washing or the dusting / cleaning etc but she would just take over if I tried to do such things. She was that way with everyone (even my grandad when he was alive), she’d even cook the Christmas dinner each year. No helping unless she asked. She was very active until around 95 and then started to slow down and accept that I could help with keeping the house shipshape. She still watched me and made sure I did everything correctly. She also taught me how to sew when I was 7. I tried knitting but preferred sewing, which has definitely come in handy over the years. She even taught me at a young age how to play Gin Rummy 🃏 I learnt a lot of handy techniques from my grandma and I always find that her way of doing things, works out best! 😊
I have been watching "Girl with dogs" for a few months. I was watching cooking stuff and your Nonna got reckomended to me. I got addicted and have been binging for 2 weeks and just now realized that this is "girl with dogs" grandma! How amazing your grandparents are! I am amazed! Thank you so much for sharing them with us!
You don’t see family’s getting together at the dinner table any more. That dinner looked great. I’m jealous lol I watch Vanessa’s channel and fell in love with her and love watching her way with animals and then I came across her family. What a lovely bunch of people that make you feel right at home. Thank you for sharing your lives. ❤😊
As a follower who has watched every single video on your channel, this one is absolutely one of the very best videos posted on this channel. Bravo! Brava! ❤
Finding out one of my favourite TH-camrs has a grandmother who supplies just as incredible content makes me so happy! Now I've got more lovely videos to binge!
I cant believe you are siblings with @girlwiththedogs. I follow her channel too. What a lovely and blessed family❤. Wish Nonna and Nonno good health and be surrounded with loved ones, always. 🙏
Wow! I'm so jealous! I would LOVE to meet your Nonna and Nonno and Vanessa sometime! I live in IL, USA. You are so lucky to still have your grandparents. Love and cherish them! ❤
I've been watching this fabulous channel from the beginning, coming from Vanessa's channel. The content is wonderful! It reminds me so much of my time in Sicily, especially this one. Our neighbors (three generations plus cousins) brought us into their home and sat us around a large round table and we all rolled the fresh pasta for dinner. I think it was orecchiette. Even though they spoke little English and we little Italian, the appreciation of great food and great company overcame any barrier. During our two years there, we took turns hosting gatherings between our homes. So many wonderful memories. Thank you for sharing!
This is a beautiful video. It's special to see three generations of family sharing a meal and welcoming friends to be a part of the entire experience. It's great to see everyone dressed nicely also.
9:51 I wish I had an Italian family 😂, I have some Italian genealogy and roots but not much. However I will say, from childhood, I’ve always gravitated to Italian foods and culture and I always have been very amazed with how much family is involved. And I will say there is nothing better than a big plate of pasta!! I don’t care what time of day it is 😂😂 Anyone know where you can get one of those pasta devices??
This was just the best video ever!! What I wouldn’t do to be a guest in that house for lunch and help Nonna cook it… my goodness these girls are lucky!!! Thanks for sharing, looks so delicious and like such a blast! ❤
you are very lucky that your nonna allows you to take part in making these dishes my grandmother and great aunts didnt allow any of us to help in making dishes and now those recipes are lost to the ages
Such fun, and such wisdom. Good pasta, good wine, good company. Revel in the blessings of Mono and Mona. Gigi has much to teach us all about appreciation.
This was a formula for success!! It all looked fun and the food looked delicious! I loved the natural reactions and responses from everyone, well done to all of you!! Made me smile and laugh too!
I remember these days with my mom making raviolis and other pasta with grandma. Homemade is the best! Would put the pasta on sheets on the bed. Delicious! 😋

So happy to see nonna use the duck eggs that was gifted to @girlwiththedogs. Lmao@nonna she is too bloody funny😂😂 love these family videos gotta do more. 🙏🏾🫶🏾
found you from the video where she got the eggs gifted her! subscribed my mothers parents were from Italy. options on any given Sunday- be a Nanna and Nonnos or be dead- choose one choose wisely. have no idea to this day who i was actually related to. no such thing as mr Bob, it was uncle bob. loved helping her make the pasta. she used duck eggs as well, even goose eggs sometimes. never helped with sauce, that was already simmering when we arrived. she mostly hand cut the noodles, though she had the roller/cutter like yours. when the family gets together, everyone is in the kitchen making pasta one night for sure. If we are feeling randy we make cappelletti as well. bit more difficult now that we have a few (clinically diagnosed, not a life style) with Celiac disease but we found brown rice flower is manageable when we use the machine for rolling. garden
@@thespicynonna just came across your channel. I'm 55 year old half Scottish/ half Italian (2nd generation) female. Wow, brought tears to my eyes the memories you invoked. All my family are long gone, but I think about my Italian Grandparents every day. The happy times I spent in their house. Getting red wine with lemonade at the dinner table when I was a child. My Nana's cooking which was very similar to yours, feeling loved and never criticised. Them breaking into Italian when they argued (which i found funny as my Grampa would wink and pull faces behind my Nana's back!)I was so close to my Grampa, Rosato from Cassino, but he died when I was 16. I recently got a tattoo in memory of him. I still make my Nana's pastafagoli, and 'sugo', which is my fussy Godchildren's favourite meal, but with shop bought spaghetti. I've been vegetarian since age 20 so obviously swapped the pigs trotters and other meat for star stock cubes! Just wanted to say thankyou, and I'm going to make your stuffed aubergines. Much love from rainy Scotland. Ciao. X

Oh my goodness. Nonna, I love you! I'd love to make homemade pasta by your side. Watching your kitchen full of family love reminds me of my Baba. I'm Slovak. And I loved making homemade noodles with my Baba. I miss her. Now I want to make homemade pasta. Yours looks so good! 😋❤️😘
Such memories seeing you make polenta and I can’t imagine how much pasta I have made over the years. Seeing Nona’s sauce brought back such memories. One time we were having a huge family gathering and my husband was helping me make the pasta. After the pasta was cut he would lay it out on the dining room table to dry. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I wish I was a family friend and could be in that kitchen bustling with activity and filled with love. ❤
Me too.
I have the same wish 😊
I have the same wish. My mother dad was a Italian, hè emigrate to the Netherlands.

It is soooo Italian to be in the kitchen, everybody cooking, screaming, laughing, with a nonna in always giving orders and instructions. LOVE IT❤

I don't blame the girls for wanting to watch Nonna cooking! Absolutely no better cook than a nana!
"Wow you suck at that"
"No I don't"
Average sibling conversation
So true 😂
😂💯‼️
That kitchen got so crazy, wow! I bet it tasted delicious. ❤ your Nonna handled it like a champ. You are such a lovely family. ❤
I watched Vanessa's video about the person giving her the duck eggs for Nonna. I'm so glad I was able to watch how they were used.
