    Thanks for another cool video!
    The goats eat 600L of grass each per year... so that's 43,200L total for 72. In other words 90K is ~2 years of feed, even if they stopped eating meadow grass entirely. Seems like a pretty safe margin even if you leave only half of that.

    It's amazing how far you've got my friend, and thank you for making it enjoyable for everyone to tag along on your journey!
    I've just started... Due to time constraints, I've made small concessions about my rules, I've got a grass field (92) and mowed it with my own equipment, but leased a forage wagon to gather and sell... Assumably just this once...
    Anyway, watching your videos always make me want to jump back into my own game... Keep them coming!

    Have you considered buying a repair station? With all that repair it would probably be cheaper in the long run not having to pay the mechanic? GREAT series!!

    • @syrupgames
      @syrupgames  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Does the repair station actually give you cheaper repair costs? I thought it was the same price, and basically just provides the convenience of not having to take your equipment all the way to the store every time

      @ I think you are right. I tested on another save, does not seem to be any difference in price. I was confused it said when doing configurations you don’t have to pay mechanic. Would probably not be a good idea then.

      @syrupgames most likely just the convenience. Since you have so much equipment, it would probably be worth it.

    Loving the series.
    I'd recommend looking at a Zoom-boom (telehandler) over a skiddy if you go that route. The two main reasons why are that ZB's have a greater reach and more weight than a skiddy. Stacking products on top each other can become a challenge with limited reach, especially if you are loading into/beyond the center of a trailer, and doubly so if your machine starts tipping on you as you max out your reach. A skid steer can certainly load a trailer (so too can a front loader attachment/pallet forks on a tractor), but in my experience, a ZB or even forklift (if the ground is level enough) tend to work better.
    On the other hand, a skid steer is more versatile if you plan on using it for other tasks.
    The skid steer seems more like a lateral change to me than a straight upgrade. It doesn't seem to offer much more than your front loader already does unless you have plans for it beyond loading trailers. Something to consider anways.
    Thanks for the great series. My wife and I are always looking forward to each episode.

      Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you're enjoying the series!
      I have been considering a telehandler as well... Would definitely be more capable in a lot of ways, although I think it's kind of overkill for loading pallets most of the time. Unless you're doing really large loads where you need that reach to stack very high, the extra size and weight makes it a little more cumbersome most of the time imo. I agree that a skidsteer seems like more of a lateral move than a huge upgrade over the tractor and front loader, and may even be a downgrade in some respects like a reduced reach, but I think the more intangible/subjective "driving experience" of the skidsteer actually makes it a much bigger improvement than it appears on paper. At least for me, I find the increased maneuverability and responsiveness make it a lot more pleasant to use for loading. Especially compared to my current tractor with manual transmission, which is pretty jerky when driving at low speeds, is fairly slow to switch direction, and requires quite a bit of room for maneuvering. I really like the skidsteers ability to spin on the spot, smoother and more responsive acceleration and braking, and quicker direction changes.
      I must admit I am somewhat biased here though, as I have a lot of experience operating a skidsteer in real life, and it was always one of my favourite machines to run, so I think there's probably some nostalgia glasses influencing my opinion lol. I will almost certainly get a telehandler eventually, but for now I am still thinking of going for the skidsteer, mainly just for the fun factor, even if it's not the most practical

      That makes perfect sense to me. I'm a heavy equipment operator myself. I've worked in mining, demolition, and road construction. I've run everything from skiddy's, zoom-booms, and rollers, up to Cat D10's, 390F excavators, a 745 rock truck, 988 front wheel loaders, Komatsu 600's, wheel tractor-scrapers (we call 'em buggies), and everything in between. A good feel for the machine, responsive hydraulics, intuitive controls, and familiarity count for far more than higher spec's and what's best on paper.
      I don't own FS25, only FS22, so I'm not sure if this has changed, but I'm not super impressed with how FS22 handles crab-walking for their telehandlers either. The inability to change the pitch of your tires without reverting to 4-tire turning is unlike anything I've operated in real life and is kind of frustrating for tight adjustments, IMO. The zoom-booms handling is definitely less forgiving than the skidsteers' turning-on-a-dime, and the different steering options don't fully make up the difference, so the skiddy is still a solid choice. I would only caution about the size of the new trailer you're thinking about getting in that case. I would be less wary of the skidsteers reach in height, but more so its depth.
      I play with two joysticks, and it can make skidsteers super fun. To stop key-mapping conflicts with other pieces of equipment, I had to set up for ISO controls over H-pattern (not sure what you're familiar with), but it's a great time. If that sounds interesting, you don't have two joysticks already, and you have a bit of a budget you can put into a new controller, I highly recommend the Thrustmaster Farmstick.

      Wow, that's awesome! I've worked in road construction a bit myself, but I don't have nearly as much experience as you... I've run rock trucks and have a little bit of experience with zoom-booms, but most of my time in road construction was on a 627 scraper (another of my favourite machines, we usually called them buggies too). I ran a D6 Cat briefly, but never got to experience the really big boys.
      Using two joysticks for the skidsteers sounds super fun! I imagine that would be pretty helpful for using the cranes and excavators in this game too, I haven't used any of those in 25 yet but I seem to remember them always being pretty frustrating to operate efficiently in 22 with a gamepad. Thanks for the recommendation about the Farmstick! I had been considering getting one already, so I might just have to pull the trigger now lol

    getting the merlo telehandler is a good option. it's around 150k i believe with a 3 point in the back so it could act as a tractor with low HP in a pinch. more of a nice to have thing instead of a need but you can never go wrong with more land and hope the non tractor items go on sale.

    • @syrupgames
      @syrupgames  9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Definitely considering a telehandler too... I've played around with the Merlo a bit in my other save and it's pretty sweet. I will almost certainly get one eventually, but I'm not sure I want to drop the money on it just yet. If one comes up on sale, that would be ideal!

    You used your big trailer for the eggs, but you had your little red one you could of used lol. Could also sell that one, haven't seen you use it in a while. Unless you start using it for when you only have a couple things to sell haha.

    • @syrupgames
      @syrupgames  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +6

      I did actually think about using that one, but I find it a bit more of a pain to load with the sides and the smaller size. The only reason I haven't sold it yet is because I was thinking it might be useful to load up a few pallets of consumables like seeds and fertilizer to supply my implements in the field without occupying my main trailer. And just because it's not worth very much to sell it, it might be nice to have around just in case... I might be a hoarder lol

    • @MerccreM15
      @MerccreM15 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@syrupgames you could use it the same way you use the water tanker. Fill it up with Wheat and have it autotipping into the chickens. Then you would have a visual indicator that they need fed.
      Chickens eat so little and the coop you have already holds 9k though, so not really necessary unlike the water, but still an option and gives it a use

    Soybeans were the best grain crop in fs22, but in 25 i think its the straw crops. Im doing wheat feilds for strait crop sale, as it is the "medium" between the straw crops, and barley for chickens, since barley gives most yeild

    • @syrupgames
      @syrupgames  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks for the info! I thought that straw crops are more profitable if you include the straw sales, but I think soybeans are still more profitable if you're just comparing the grains, no? Meaning the soybeans still have a bit higher profit-to-effort margin, since you don't have to do the extra step of baling. I could be wrong about that though, I haven't looked into the different crop profitably very closely. Either way I think I will still do a mix, just to keep some variety. And definitely want to keep doing some straw crops, as I eventually want to get into cattle and making TMR

      @syrupgames  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I have seen that! One of the reasons I started experimenting with the joystick is trying to decide if it's worth the cost of getting something like that... Still undecided though, that's a lot of money to shell out lol

  • @zeromusphoenix798

    So I was playing of course and the cr11 came on sale for 59% off that's over half of what it would cost at 740,000 so I went ahead and bought it. Now I just got to do some more contracts and everything so that way I can get to harvesting and the two headers that I would need are both 144,000, so it would seem that I would be saving up another $300,000 lol 🤣😆 b at least I don't have to upgrade my harvester
