    hello from south east Australia, 'the cold part' you are doing a great job, it's great to see that these old Fergusons and Massey Fergusons are still popular after all this time, a re build kit will give them another 50+ years of life, they are very popular down here in Australia and easy to get because once they need fixing etc they usually just get put in a shed and forgotten about as opposed to throwing to scrap so they are easy to some by if you want to restore one, just get just letting you know there is a bloke up in the tropical top end of Australia on TH-cam called Bundy Bears Shed he does up a lot of Massey Fergusons, he is restoring a Ferguson Tea 20 petrol and a Massey Ferguson 135 Multipower, he has helped me a lot, so glad to see people restoring these old machines

    Good to see a young person doing this stuff! Wish I’d been able to keep my dad’s old fergie. For info, take a look at Jimmy DeVille’s garage, rebuilding a barn find fergie. Their diesel has the thin lips at the top of the liners.

      @@samuelbygrave no problem, great to see the enthusiasm in vintage vehicles just like myself. I've just finished a total refurbishment of A MF35. Nothing internal or external was left untouched. Torture but worth it 😁👍

      i started a new job on a farm and didn't have the time. that's why my videos stopped. I've sorted a lot out now though and i hope to have it all done and finished by June at the latest with videos along the way. thanks for sticking with me.

    The early liners had a cutout in the bottom and a thinner lip, I believe. I would suggest yours have been change at some stage of its life. Good vid, keep up the good work.

      That’s interesting I didn’t know that! Thanks for sharing !

      Can you fit liners that don’t have the cutout. And what is the difference in a bottom end that has an enclosed crank and ones that have main bearing caps

    Hi, were you able to remove the pistons with the liners in place? I thought on the tef20 engine the conrod wouldnt fit up through the liner?

    • @samuelbygrave
      @samuelbygrave  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, yes. They won’t fit up either way so you have to remove the crank and take them out the bottom. So once the crank was out I just pulled them out the bottom then tapped the liners out

    hi Samuel is it possible to fit new liners and pistons on a tef diesel without removing the engine. thanks

    • @samuelbygrave
      @samuelbygrave  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question, short answer is no. You have to take the pistons out through the bottom so you will need to take the crank out and for that the engine will have to be out so you can slide the crank out of the flywheel end
